Proper piece of history and proof you can't just slap something together that will stand the test of time.

So nice. Its the little things..... like cutting the strut tops welding in camber plates shortening the drive shafts and arms to get a really rare set of hoops on that separate the men from the boys lol

One of my favourite ever VW's this thing! Something so nice about long term ownership with a car too. All the time to think out the modifications and pick the correct parts.

The 3 door Golf always has and always will look just a little bit better than the 5 door. The 3 door is sleeker and sportier looking than the 5. It’s a shame VW no longer makes a 3 door.

This is what the VW scene needs to get back to, get rid of all the boring financed Audis on air and wheels, long-term builds with proper parts are where the heart is, thanks for making this video and I hope to see it at some shows again in the future.

I remember reading the build threads on Edition on this MK1, Mex’s Vento and James Ford’s MK3 from back in the day, good times.

JD’s cars inspired many, I built a dark green Mk1 cab G60 back in the late 90’s (pvw featured). Hat off to you for the 16v, loving that.

i remember this car from 18 years ago, and thought the 18 years. always keen to have a look around it and to see the imperfections, and comment its so nice to see it being used as it should , its a shame the car seen has changed so much as the old days where the best , cars like this keep it real,

I bought the 1.9 engine off Alex in 2006(ish) and it’s still going strong!! Great video 👏🏻👏🏻

I’m curious if you know or Alex knows the belt number of belt he runs on that charger teeth set up? I just ordered a belt and was much wider than the cog teeth themselves. Any help would be useful 🤟🏼🙏🏻
