Absolutely love these Mk2, especially with the big bumper! I've had three Mk2, 2 GTI's both with the 8v and 1 GLI with the 16v. I prefer the 8v because of MPG and reliability. Both are unbelievably fun to drive and look sexy as F!

It’s beautiful! That car is perfect in every way! The 16v MK2 was the car!! Majority came with just an 8v which both of my GTI’s were. My dream is to have a red MK2 GTI!! I’ve owned a MK1 GTI 84’ and a MK2 GTI 85’, Sold both and wish I never did. I currently have a MK3 GTI VR6. But I’m gonna get me another MK2 and it’s gonna be red!!!!!!!!! It Doesn’t get much better than this I love it!!!!!

Very nice mk2 they sure look good in red. you might need new door hinges and striker pins.

I would personally fresh up the engine for throwing in a 2 litre 16v with a 9a bottom end . Maybe put some g60 stoppers and drilled and groved dics. Personally i think it should be on bags , but its personally perferences. Love the wheels keep up with the awesome work with the videos

As a child I always wanted a MK2 GTi. A year ago I bought a red MK2 3 door 8v.

It's beautiful totally fantastic , I've owned E30 M3 , intergrale 16v lots of other things like that but I miss my MK2 16v so much .

This car is better than anything I have seen am from south Africa I would love to have such a clean car

The golf is stunning I've always liked the golf GTI especially the 16valve version but I prefer the 1.9 GTI and these were my era the best era for cars the 80-90s and I know these sort of cars won't come along again in my opinion

i guess U have shaved the antena stick from the roof and there sholud be some black frame no the rear door :) 16v bedge would look cool on the grill. car is great!

Beautiful example, you’ve done a really good job … looks the business had a couple mk2 gti’s back in the day , just a couple of things I would suggest……..tornado red gti’s came with green tinted glass…. Not a big deal but looks better with the green glass !!! Also no bee sting !!!!

Gorgeous car. Only things i'd say is the bonnet stops need adjusting, the bonnet fitment on the driverside is too low. Also check the rear engine mount for play as the intake runner appears to be rubbing on the bonnet insulation.

I am new here and a 16v owner myself :D When you were driving the mk2 you compared it to a 205. I guess your 205 then? as the 1.9 pug never came with 190 plus bhp as standard. so no wonder your mk2 feels slow and sluggish in comparison as your 205 is modified. Sorry here to defend mk2s as its the only hot hatch in my collection :D
