It was unnecessary to hire her. Her performance wasn't particularly exciting, and it's always bad to give money to a star who has to pretend to wear a national color. That's calculated. Nobody is buying it.
I KNOW! It feels like a complete different era. ESC seemed to be at an all-time low in Germany and suddenly became so popular due to Lena. EVERYONE was following her win in 2010 and the event in 2011. But they did so well to completely ruin it again in the last years.
If you won this year inatead of 2010, I wouldn't have been sad. This isn tot because Turkey came 2nd in 2010. I prefer another country to win in 2010 even if Turkey had to 2nd
@@ufuksnmez98 Actually, Turkey's song was my favorite in 2010 and Germany's was for me on the 12th place because there were much stronger entries, some of them were eliminated in the Semi Final's, but Germany did something in the marketing for the contest in 2010, something that is missing nowadays because we don't give any effort on selecting our entries. And even if I think that our song in 2009 was one of our better entries in the 2000s, this is just average. And you can't save an average entry with an amazing show. You see it for three minutes and you'll forget it.
@@perisdahl569 Unfortunately the Televote from Norway was cancelled in 2009 by a technical problem. But the Jury in Norway gave 6 Points to us. The Televote would have downgraded it for sure.
I remember I was 8 when this was aired, when dita von tease came onto the stage my mum told me to turn away from the TV, it was both mortifying and hilarious.
I don't understand why this should be a guilty pleasure. Why should I feel guilty for loving this? The 20th place was so freaking unfair, this was one of my favourite songs in that Eurovision ❤️
What I really like about this is not necessarily the stripper but it's the fact that Germany really put on a show. Dancers, pyro and stuff. I think that's what we're lacking the last years. We're sending good songs and strong singers but we don't care about the visualization. People vote with their ears AND with their eyes. Lena and Roman Lob have shown that you don't need a spectacular show. But since our performances have been modest and small for the last couple of years, I think it's time for some great show again.
Dita is not a stripper. She is a burlesque performer. The form of Burlesque Dita does is more about tease and sensuality rather than showing a nude body.
I actually loved this! I can think the only reason it didn’t do well is probably because Germany went for a staging that’s too rich and maybe it was just too ahead of it’s time. I mean they bought Dita Von Teese to Eurovision which none of us saw coming I don’t think. Anyway I loved this. One of Germany’s stronger entries in the last few decades 👏🏻🖤
Von daher ist die Hoffnung gegeben, dass wir nächsten Jahr gewinnen könnten. Nur weil wir dieses Jahr eine schlechte Platzierung hatten, muss das ja nichts heißen. ^^ Dafür brauchen wir aber ein gutes Lied. xD

Armagged to the Hound Der Song ist eigentlich gut, aber da Deutschland zurzeit politisch einen sehr schlechten Ruf hat, werden wir wieder auf den hinteren Plätzen landen. Beim ESC geht es schon lange nicht mehr um das Musikalische, sondern um seine politischen Beziehungen zu anderen Ländern zu stärken ^^

Why did they use dita as a gimmick? They should have her strip ( tame version) on the front of the stage from the begining. She looked so uncomfy. Such a an amazing performer reduced to a gimmick
Gino7lord it was planned that she was gonna strip and be naked on stage but ebu forbid it, so the rule that no one can be naked on stage was put in the rule book which is why ivan couldnt be naked and dance with wolfes in 2016 haha
