Wow. Funny how this showed up in my suggestions for the first time today, 4 years later. It's beautiful to compare the Alex of now, the guy who has acquitted himself so well this season, with the rookie of then. Still a mild-mannered, humble, soft spoken guy, but obviously more at ease with his own abilities and success.

So happy and excited RBR chose Alex. He’s such a gentleman and has earned his position. His P5 as RBR driver in Spa was a race full of overtakes especially on the outside of DR.

I like how no one seemed to recognize them even when taking into account the camera following them as well as the official team-shirt. It seems to be easier for drivers not driving in a top-team to walk around in public areas without getting recognized.

TheJokerit19 Wouldn’t say they didn’t recognize them, but usually when you see cameras in public, you don’t intervene with filming. Just being courteous

Prince Bira was the first winner of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands at Zandvoort! Maybe Alexander Albon can repeat that achievement next year at Zandvoort?

@@Franky46Boy Prince Bira won the first Dutch Grand Prix ever held in 1948, two years before the World Championship was established. Therefore, Bira scored no points with that race. He finished in the points on three occasions in Formula 1. These finishes were: Monaco 1950 - 5th; Switzerland 1950 - 4th; France 1954 - 4th.

I love Alex Albon, very impressive driver and I can relate to him alot! I have the same initials in my name, I'm half Thai with Thai mum and British dad, I was and still am a quiet person , I spend a lot of time in Thailand, I consider myself buddhist, I love Thai food and I have also been discribed as a UK born Thai and it's how I feel also!

I like Alex however in sport you represent the country where you are born. Alex has chosen to represent Thailand as his mother comes from Thailand. Alex was born and raised in the UK. I don't believe if Alex grew up in Thailand I don't believe that the opportunity to make it into Formula One would exist. However good luck to him he is certainly a consistent driver.

Fair point I suppose although RB have been ruthless on drivers performance wise so I;m not sure thats the driver for them. Same reason they don't have a Japanese driver despite Honda bankrolling much of the team
