Faada Freddy did an amazing cover of this as well. That said, I see this lyric all the time: Building your lenses Digging your trenches Put me on the front line ... Building your "lenses" doesn't make any sense. To me, it sounds like he is saying: "Building your lances". This part of the song is seems to be analogous with war, the talk about digging trenches, being put on the front line... lances makes the most sense unless there is some element of this I'm not understanding.

Careful and considerate how the bridge of the song features Alex swimming through an underwater passage- washing himself clean of guilt, but not his dirt- into a connection with a loved one, a bridge of its own sort, the two of them accepting of one another in spite of the grim that comes with who they are. It kills me when people are insulted and whatnot because a popular show or something is the reason they heard the song. If anything you should be happier because the song is getting more recognition anyway. And the fact that you already knew the song means nothing. How would someone unknowing of the song and artist even find the fucking song. What they'd look up the genre? Even then the chances of them finding this one song is ridiculous. Good taste my ass tu heard it before someone else that's all.

I'm 💯 on board with you. The only message that needs conveying. Love/Connection is the whole point and the only way to truly achieve this is through vulnerability. "Take a bath in my blood, get to know me" is such a soul-jarring analogy of what it means to be "open". I've been obsessed with this song since first hearing it in 2013. Pure and timeless Truth. ♥️

I watch this video multiple times in my life. When I come to understand my present higher self, is that this is this song of expression of being in love in Karmic person. I am totally ashamed that I've only found your music from watching Guy Ritchie's The Covenant I've heard Home before but didn't know which band made it, also iv been searching for the song home for sometime but i only herd it once and thought it was genius but never knew the title but found it by looking for truth, could listen to it till the end of time! I’ve loved Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros for many years. When I heard this song on “Covenant”, I immediately thought of Edward Sharpe. Then I found this video and thought, wow this Alex guy must have Loved Edward Sharpe too, because he even looks like him. Then… the Edward Sharpe song “home” popped into my head and I heard the female say “oh Alexander” and I immediately felt like an idiot, albeit an idiot listening to beautiful music! But I put two and two together, and am in bliss.
