It baffles me no end WHY the West thinks so badly of Russia when history's finest symphonic composers and compositions arose from its rich tapestry of people's. Indeed, talents such as Alexander Malofeev proves such greatness. Other nations have shown such creativity but fall significantly short of Russian composers. A country's music is its soul and Russia has soul which is unparalleled!
There are literally two reasons, and both of them connect to one superior reason. They envy russia for its scale and its enormous potential for the goods over the earth and bling blings underneath the earth and co. Second the biggest fear of the usa was an alliance between germany and russia - "was" because they already did all they could do to avoid and secure it. The main reason is the coin.
Love Rachmaninoff, Tschkovski and balilika music as much as the next person. You pose a complex question that has no simple answer. Perhaps it's because the Russian NKVD murdered around 22000 Polish officers in the Kaytn forest or possibly because Stalin had between 5 and 6 Million of his own citizens murdered ( We won't mention the 300,000+ German POW's ) Could be that a recent invasion of a sovereign European nation might just be a factor. Or maybe the recent Wagner incursions into Africa supposedly fighting ISIS but in fact working alongside ISIS, could be a winner in the race of the day. The Evil Intent Handicap. The current servile Russian populations almost sycophantic support of someone who wasn't hugged as a child? Hard to say why people think badly of Russia. "Fall short of Russian composers. " Beautifully put. Those amateurs like Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Tallis, Dvorak and Mendelson. Even the "new kids " Barry, Williamson, Shore, Sondheim, Doyle or Glass from the decadent West! The lot of them. Know nothing of composition.
@@maxthecherryman America is the same. You can find evil plans in every big country, especially the main ones. Their governments are trying to take over the world economy and to obtain power in smaller countries. Don't forget Vietnam, Irak, the bombing of Serbia et cetera. And do you no, that African people hate France, because of what it did to their economy and their lives? The American and European governments tries to show, that it wants freedom and democracy in other countries, but all they do is protect their own interests to be rich and powerful.
I often wonder how more peaceful and beautiful our world would be if its citizens would listen to classical music versus today’s pop culture music. He is a musical talent in a class of his own…Bravo!
❤I absolutely agree with you and I have said that and thought that so many times! It is truly the most beautiful music in the world and it is appreciated in almost all civilized countries. It is so versatile from everything to a doctors office to concert hall you can Carry on conversations with them softly playing in the background and I love listening to it while I read and especially on a rainy or stormy day I am so blessed that my parents raised me with all kinds of wonderful music and classical is in my top two 🥰
You can find violent people in classical music as in another music genre. It is a cliché that music, art, etc makes better people. It may, but there are millions of violent and manipulative people in classicall music too. Any piano student in the top music schools, for example, can asure you this. Let's be clear.
I am Lupita Ríos Since I was born I hear my father Eduardo Rios play his piano and here in Mexico and in Europe I went to many concerts. Now I am 77 years old and Alexander Is for me the best and every day Is for me a gift see him playing with his soul and for me wonderful The best gift in the end of my life,
This is first time I heard this Paganini variation. Rachmaninoff made a symphony of it. Magnificent! And always amazing Alexander- lovely for the eyes as well as the ears.
Superlative performance! Alexander's hair is wild but his hands seem possessed!! There are a couple of times when he is looking at the conductor and not at the piano, but his fingers just keep going, totally faultlessly! Just look how he smiles and enjoys the crescendo chords of the 'romantic bit'! I have not seen/heard this fabulous composition for a long while, but I did remember how the whole piece just ends in a sudden and abrupt whimper. Half of the audience did not seem to be aware that this was going to happen though - and their rapturous applause came with a distinct reaction delay!
Mister Alexander i am thankful i am able to listening to your exquisite playing and for your commitment to practicing so hard to make your talent even greater. I strongly believe that great composers and instrument players are as indispensable as great doctors and teachers. I am wishing you all the best in life and the strength and luck to be able to play piano as long as you wish for!
To user-ih6le,etc: What facial expression? His is about as 'neutral" as a face can be. You want to see facial AND bodily gestures galore? I think the name is Lang something-or-other. There's a LOT to be loved there!
An immense pleasure to listen to this amazing virtuoso. Most thankful for this opportunity to be to vicariously able to participate in the obvious joy all have in playing this musical masterpiece.
After listening to this concert numerous times over the past five months, I have realized a few things. It is my favorite Rachmaninoff/Paganini theme interpretation by far, in large part because Alexander Malofeev is such a fantastic pianist. But I neglected to mention what a wonderful job conducting that Alain Altinoglu does! The orchestra is so terrific and their playing and interpretation is so benefited by Altinoglu. Congratulations to all who contributed to this stellar concert!
Masters ! It is very interesting to hear someone playing to make music rather than to be a virtuoso star. Malofeev is making music and not a show off of his capacities. Also, being a pianist my self, Mexican born, lived in New York, Texas, and now in Paris, is ir very interesting to hear that russian artists do not play russian music as other traditions do. Remarkable performance !
I have always experienced him to be what I call a humble genius, who somehow steps aside and attracts his listeners to the music, not to himself. He allows the composers to rise from the dead.
Notwithstanding the magnificent performance of Mr. Malofeev, this is the best-looking orchestra I've ever seen. Truly, so many of these musicians are simply stunning in appearance. Perhaps superficial to note, but it simply struck me what a fine-looking group they are when by-and-large we can expect to see so many elderly players. The sound engineering wasn't the best on this piece. Some odd microphone placements. But the virtuosity of both soloist and orchestra comes through. Thanks for this recording.
Dear Alex, another masterclass in excellence - bravo 👏 👏👏 Your talent is of the highest order and your unique playing appears to come from your very soul. May you go from strength to strength 💐💐💐xxx
You are listening to this by technology invented by engineers and scientists. You have what to eat and keep your health. Musicians did not bring this into our world. A bit of humility won't harm.
@@YotamHakim24 There is also a difference between what feeds our bodies (which is essential, no one is arguing with this) and what lets our souls to soar and our spirit to strengthen. You can use the same technology that is invented by engineeres and listen to Ariana Grande or some others rhythmically swearing.
Alexander is a wonderful player, like a boy with his playing with his toys. Amazing his fingers and a handsome man. I love to hear the piano and the Orquestra. 👏👏👏
Gorgeous playing by both Alexander and the orchestra - which was very rich sounding. But am I the only one who thinks the piano does not have proper microphone placing? The piano part tends to get lost in the orchestral parts. Alexander has such a unique wonderful interpretation I would like to hear more of it.
The best live piano performance that I've ever had the honour and pleasure to see and listen to was at Casa da Núsica (Porto). I dad never seen anything like that before! 18 satge calls! unheard of! A grand master pianist. One of the best ever.
The sheer complexity of this arrangement makes one wonder how any human could ever memorize it. This young man is truly remarkable. The orchestra sounded superb. It was a most enjoyable performance by all.
To beachbum: It's not uncommon for a professional pianist (or violinist, for that matter) to have twenty or more solo/orchestra works fully memorized. Believe it or not, playing "by heart" is the least of their problems.
The pianist actually memorizes the notes so that they can then be “forgotten”… the mind can then waste very little energy remembering which notes to play at which moments, and can instead focus on the emotional essence of the composition.
I've been to this concert! We really enjoyed the wonderful performance! Alexander is very talented and hr-Sinfonieorchester is great! Bravo!!!
Beautiful performance! I caught the tail end of it streamed live and felt dismayed that the broadcast was taken down afterwards - delighted to be able to rewatch it in fulll! 🎵🎶🎹💞
The more videos I watch of this young man the more I am amused by how he looks like he could be a smart-ass punk yet he is actually a transcendent human. I love the contrast between his appearance and his soul. He's a throwback to the great romantic pianists of the 20th century like Horowitz and Rubinstein but with an attitude. I hope he composes for the piano.
👽 Bravo: wonderful as always. I like His hairstyle. He has the right to be himself; He's not there to please anyone but to delight us with his mastery. GOD BLESS.

@@norisky9987 Oh that’s unfortunate, i hope they‘ll upload it in the future. Their interpretation was massive and really loud, never experienced such a thing before! :)
This is the first new content I have seen from Malofeev since the war started. He is a gift from God. His music elevates the human spirit to God Almighty.
Have you checked out his Rach 3 with the same orchestra (HR Symphony, Frankfurt, Germany) from September 22? The encore is heartbreaking, with a minute of silence.
