Thank you Eurosport for providing a nice highlight reel, where winning points of both players were shown, instead of only those from the winning player (like you did before). that was really refreshing and also, makes it fun to watch, like watching the match in fast forward, not really knowing who is going to win.
After what he has been through, achieving another semi final in roland garros is really impressive, this guy is a mental giant. Not to mention he is diabetic
Very close match, Zverev just managed to be better at those crucial moments, but it could've easily been a 5-set match. De Minaur has improved a lot this year I hope to see him at the Finals
Sasha has gone into lock down mode in this and previous matches. He seems to have gained another dimension in terms of mental strength. He doesn't seem very at ease against drop shots, though.
@@patrikmarflak6559 it's because Rune lacks endurance and after 4 sets has to keep exchanges short so he doesn't do those drop shots in the best conditions. Won't be the same against Alcaraz.
@@pureffm I agree. At first it was a good tactic but then he played too many improvised drop shots without being in the right position to do it. Zverev was much more patient in the rallies. Also the serve made a big difference, there were very little easy points on serve for Rune, compared to Zverev who is probably the best server on tour right now. The consistency of his first serve has been amazing since Rome.
In this match zverev also looked axhausted at some point. To me it looked like he stopped commiting to drop shots at some point. Which is very understandable After the long matches and late night sessions
really? he's absolutely hitting it as hard as he can but it's not that powerful compared to Sinner, Alcaraz. Zverev's is more powerful and penetrating too and did more damage overall as De Minaur hits flat which is less effective on clay. 05:47 and 07:21 are decent but my point still stands.
I am so proud of Sasha. Incredibly done! Fingers crossed that he can win his first major I guess he has never been so consistent before. Not a fan of Ruud and fearing his forehand. I‘m confident Sasha learned from last years semifinal. Go and get it
Why did you post this comment? De Minaur has improved so much over the last year and is now a top player. Instead of choosing to say something unoriginal which contradicts nobody’s opinion, perhaps try praising one of the best players in the world on an amazing run to the QF, and a fantastic performance in this match.
@@ady007pl He could've beaten Tsitsipas in 2021 (lost in 5 sets), but otherwise he was rather unlucky. He injured himself in the SF against Nadal, where he played very well, and was ill or something last year against Ruud.
The performance of Sascha was solid, maybe it is good enough to beat Ruud, but against Sinner or Alcaraz I am not convinced that he will have chance. They are just playing on another level
Zverev has multiple clay masters titles and sinner has made 1 clay 250 final ever (out of 17 finals he had made). Sinner does not have a good record against Top 10 players on clay at all as of yet
@@2Fast83 grass is a 3 week season with basically one actual tournament. It's basically a novelty surface. Clay has many more tournaments. So that "comparison" is quite facile and worth little as a point tbh Sinner has played in plenty of clay tournaments. He just has done nothing in any of them really (aside from 1 250 as mentioned)
Sovereign managed! Even after trailing 0:4 in the tie-break, he kept his nerve. This mental strength will impress his next opponents. It's a shame that the German press criticised his short interview after the match so much. The questions were really stupid and it was late at night.
Thank you Eurosport for providing a nice highlight reel, where winning points of both players were shown, instead of only those from the losing player (like the official RU-vid Channel of Roland Garros did before).
Special thanks to whomever creates the thumbnails - THANK-YOU for making so they don’t reveal the winner! So many sports channels need to take follow your lead!
De Minaur couldn't really go further than this, I was already shocked when he eliminated Medvedev. A decent top 20 player but can't see him winning slams.
Me too. I am sure alcaraz will win Roland Garros in the Future at least one time but I hope for Zverev and Alcaraz in the final and then the better player will win
I have the feeling that this could be the year for Zverev. He has really been impressive. In my opinion he has the same chance to win The French Open as Sinner and Alcaraz have....
he may have better chances as his semifinal might look easier. Jannik and Carlos will probably fight for hours on Friday…lets see. But in Jannik we trust🎉😅
I would not be surprised if that happened (again). Like every season, Ruud is underrated, and last year it seemed almost a given Zverev would easily take him down in the semis. We all know the outcome, and the opposite was true and Ruud thoroughly outplayed Zverev. Ruud is rock solid, plays very smart and can manage to keep Zverev at bay with the length and placement of his groundstrokes, especially with his forehand. On the other hand, Zverev seems to have found a new level of mental toughness when the game is on the line and has managed to come through even if not playing to his full potential. That would be typical ingredients to go all the way. A case could be made for both of them to be deserving to finally win a Slam, so I am just excited to see who of the two will make it to the final...
Long boring match with no variety. Zverev hitting those hard long FHs&BHs, Deminaur running. Almost no dropshots and if so, poor ones. Very little winners, tons of errors. Worst match so far.
@@theyruinedyoutubeagain Then why was he not convicted? You have no clue, innocent until proven guilty. I will never believe gaslighting sociopaths over the guy that is being acused without proof. If you spread rumors you are complicit!
@@pureffmExactly what I am saying! I am not believing anything of the accusations until they r proven. I am pretty sure shes just trying to get his money
De Minaur improved incredibly and was quite in form but he makes me pissed because he's not used to these end-of-tournament stages and his Tennis IQ was poor. He should have got 1 if not 2 sets from Zverev.
If De Minaur was 6’5” he’d be beating more opponents. I believe his height is a physical disadvantage that doesn’t allow him to hit the ball at angles his taller opponents can.
It's not a height problem. He came up a bit short yesterday. Couldn't bring the level he brought against Daniil. Against this version of Sascha, ADM needed his best to advance. He didn't have it yesterday! He's generally getting closer and closer to the top. Needs a lil more. Btw, he is taller than Agassi and just as tall as Stan and Alcaraz! You do remember what those gentlemen have achieved, right?
This feels like De Minaur's level atm a bit like Rublev. They're very good players on the tour, but just lacking in certain areas to push on past the last 8 of a GS.
De Minaur has speed, but he doesn’t have the coolness when the going gets tough. Top players like Zverev win the important points and knows when to do so. De Minaur crumbled and lost his cool when facing difficulties in this match.
Since this is not your last match here Sascha , there is a room for improvement against Ruud : more open court changes of direction needed , especially because you have plenty of time to choose the spot you want to hit ! And nobody will be able to return two shots in a row ! The net work was good even if you lost some points ! Good luck for playing the final ! 🎾🥎🏆
