“Kate!, Willie! Gordon Schumway, long time no see!” The look on their faces when he was at the door says how mortified they were. I kinda felt bad for ALF in this episode, all he wanted to do was mingle with other people on the one night people wouldn’t suspect he was an alien and Willie wasn’t having it.

How funny it would have been if ALF's zipper had come off. I always found that he took quite a risk here, but ALF would likely have known that he could make himself look like he could expose himself at a Halloween party as a guy dressed in a costume.
Even the Fairly Odd Parents did something similar to this in the Halloween special. Cosmo and Wanda were practically the same size as Timmy and since every kid was going around in costumes, Cosmo and Wanda also dressed up in costumes and just walked on the ground without any exposure of their crowns, wands, and wings so they were able to stay undercover while with Timmy out in public. 😌
You know this could have also worked if ALF dressed up as a ghost. He could have had a sheet over him with eye-holes in it and nobody would have seen him.
