rear three quarter for me, but to be honest this car looks absolutely perfect from any angle. btw, this is definitely the best car review in youtube and mainly because of Matt's hilarious performance.
owning an alfa is like "u love it but u hate.....but u actually love it.....but well indeed u hate it..........but at the end of the day u still love it
+Mohamed Bishr Sports car being unpractical was an issue of 20years ago. Not in 2016. A cayman is proper sports car that you can drive daily your whole life.
+Bora Markovic well there are other sports cars that are more pratical then a cayman. Some of them have space for 5 people. And bags. And a cayman for daily drive? Only if you don't have kids. And don't go to the supermarket.
Well said, Mohamed... I daily drove my 91 Alfa Romeo 164S for almost a year. While fast and roomy for a sedan, no Alfa is practical. You just love em, if you love to drive cars.
+MrHitman246 there is no way that alfa is going to sell, it's too flashy and tacky, and it's trying to be a bmw 3 series or audi a4 too much for me to consider it above them.
Gassn Vains I agree. However, most of us who drive manual do so not because we want to be the fastest. We do it because of the pure driving pleasure. Nothing beats driving a manual car hard through the country. Having complete control, having to rev match on your down shifts and time your changes for the exit without some computer doing it for you. If I wanted to win a race. I'd buy a dual clutch auto. If I wanted to enjoy an true driving experience, I'd buy a manual.
After driving a manual for hundreds of thousands of kilometers I need to say I'm not missing it. I don't want it back, not for a moment, in fact I hate the manual box so much, I remember dreading going to work every day with one. It's fun on B roads though. But then again you also get the same amount of fun with paddles on a ZF8HP box or a DCT. Manual is dead and it should stay dead.
Yeah it's kinda nice but to be honest I would prefer comeback of legendary Fiat Coupe. Instead, they killed that great car so that the Alfa gets to build their sporty image. And don't even get me started about Lancia's fate in group. Fucking Alfa!
Guys, this is an Alfa Romeo. I would have this almost over anything. Even though it's expensive this is an enthusiast's car not some rich guy's toy. It captures the essence of driving pleasure and that is priceless these days....
needraintodrift I'm commenting late here but I saw a 4c today irl and it was stunning so I came to watch this. This is a car I would by if I'm able to afford it some day :)
being a serial classic 911 owner, I made the switch to a 4C in November and I'm loving this car... almost 5000kms done in the past 4ish months, the launch edition came with all the goodies like parking sensors and all, its a small car so rear visibility is not much of an issue while parking, however the main concern is always the 3/4 visibility, that's annoying when you want to change lanes at speed, and exiting the car is very undignified... still better than a lotus elise and the exige, but if you're into practicality, defs go for the cayman... but this car sounds better and I love cornering speeds on it and the way it handles it... steering isnt the best in a straight line... its weird to say this, but it is true... needs a tighter rack.
The steering is very sensitive to tyre pressures. The manual says they should be 25 front and 29 rear. If they are in the 30's the car is very light on centre.
The split segment ruse from half way through the video made me laugh :-) Matt does the most amusing car videos on the web whilst still taking the car seriously!
Thanks Matt for the review. Lot of downsides to the 4C but i've got my heart set on buying one. Love it, like it and live it. Like your car review Matt. Your funny comments make me laugh. Like the basic shortness of the reviews as well. Keep up the great reviews. Think the 4C looks beautiful. I would hug it too.
Very cool video. Was waiting for carbuyer to review this car for months now. Unfortunately I have not yet seen the Alfa 4C in real life here in Hamburg, Germany.
By making this car totally uncompromised/uncomfortable, Alfa have managed to arrange things so that the only people seen driving this car are the ones who really want it-- not just flabby old farts with oodles of cash. What a fantastic way to advertise this car as an enthusiast's machine, rather than one of many irrelevant flights of fancy for the affluent. That, paired with the pricing, makes this car one of Alfa Romeo's smartest branding exercises.
actually that's not launch control, when it's holding the revs you have to pull the downshift paddle then the revs go even higher and it lunches on full boost
Handling is the soul of a sports car, and the 4C doesn't. Porsche Cayman is the perfect car. The naturally aspirated sounds great, pulls great. The precision and the way it steer is tremendous. How can a little 4C beat the Cayman with similar price tag?
Yes, Matt should be on TG. I hear they are getting some cricketer to fill in for the Friends star. Did Matt do a used car show a few years ago with some female Porsche racer. Any way, good honest review.. it’s good but not perfect but it is a proper beautiful Alfa for the connoisseur. Rarity means its value will appreciate.
