Absolutely amazing I don’t have a handbrake that’s pointing to the sky now thank you for taking the time to make the video and listening to my request top man and keep up the videos 👍
Very helpful, with a 1/4" ratchet drive and a deep 10mm socket it was relatively easy to take a little of the excessive slack out of the front cable. I'm hoping this may stop the handbrake lever from lifting due to tension from the gaiter and putting the warning light on when driving along.
I'm not sure if the Giulietta is exactly same type of handbrake mounting but I had a 164 with a handbrake that was pointing upwards (worked ok) however there wasn't any adjustment left, after checking the cables, seemed ok? it turned out to be the lever mounting to the floor had cracked, you can just see the rear mounting in this video, I ended up welding a plate to the very thin floor, absolute pain in the back side!
The hook of handbrake couldn's recover when i pull it up. Is it possible to fix it. Or I have to replace the whole part? I would appreciate if you can give me same advice.
Hi. This is another common problem and one I’m yet to resolve and make a video for. I believe it may just be a lubrication thing but can’t confirm 100%. I’m going to try some WD40 or something for now, but have found that it only happens in certain temperatures. That’s all for now. All the best 👍
Hi Michael. There’s a video on removing the dials, and I hope to be looking at removing a bit more of the dashboard soon, but not removing the whole unit (unless mine fails🫣). All the best 👍
There’s a common problem with the lever which may be an issue, but that’s normally when it’s hotter. Maybe some lubricant on these points could help. I’d check for any dirt or corrosion along the full length of the cable too. All the best 👍
Hi Red Ford. I’d have to agree with Mike on upgrading to a short shifter. I haven’t fitted it myself but have heard some good reviews. There isn’t really any adjustment for the factory fittings. All the best 👍
@@Red_Ford yes 2L should be alright, but supposed to be 1.87L I think. Lots of people just purchased Fuchs Titan gearbox oil but I think Tutela Gearforce by Petronas will be alright too.. you'll find out the difference after few miles, if not then youll change it again. It's not that pricey anyway
Hi Tony, my dna is not working and also start and stop flashes and hill assistant too. I read that it might be from low voltage of the battery or from the yellow fuse on the battery, any ideas?
Hi Lakis. First thing I’d say is to get the fault codes read. It could be a number of things, so starting there is my recommendation. I thought I’d responded to this question previously but can’t find my response 🫣. Sorry for any confusion if I have 😂. All the best 👍
It looks to me that it would be easier to get an open spanner on the adjustment nut from the top via the handbrake slot rather than going in from the rear by removing the rear passenger vent.
