There are three main reasons for the acceleration figures of the Stelvio besides the engine: Overall weight (lots of lightweight options) 4x4 ZF8HP gearbox

I have two Stelvio’s - a Quadrifoglio & a Ti Sport Lusso. Exceptional vehicles. Never an issue. Both are music to a petrol heads’s ears and senses. I stare at the cars & can’t wait to get in and drive either one. Great daily drivers too, but with personality. My QV hits 60 mph in 3.6 & the Lusso in 5.0 flat, since breaking them in. They just want to go fast. Begging.

@@emiliospowerballer1441 Hahaha. The twin turbo 6 averages around 20-25mpg. The Ti Lusso’s 4 cylinder brings me an average of 30mpg. Your mileage may vary. When I’m pushing them, the mpg drops as you would imagine. My parents were rally racers. Crazy Italians. It’s in my blood. The cars are addictive.

Ahhh, I dont think that 320 hp is enough for 268.7 mph..

There might have been, but I'm not aware of any changes in the gearbox mapping, it's the same ZF8HP nor in the suspension. Only a small change in the Ackermann steering geometry. The significant changes were on the interior finishing quality, ride noise, infotainment.

I've got a 2021 Veloce with chocolate interior. ...but it's all black on the outside (Nero Edizione) with black lettering, darker wheels and even with the optional darker tail lights.

The Quadrifoglio is a lot more expensive than the 'Veloce'. ...and the Veloce is already much more interesting than zee German offerings.

@@2bunphettered788 Well, it depends of course on what each of us find interesting in a car starting for the way it looks. The Stelvio is built over the Giorgio platform. A platform designed (by Ferrari engineers) with performance in mind (to re-launch Alfa Romeo brand with the Giulia Quadrifoglio). It was built for RWD setups and perfect weight distribution. The Stelvio inherits this platform from the Giulia and it shows in the way it drives. For instance, all engines sit behind the front axle. Be it the Diesel, the 2.0 in line 4 or the 2.9 V6. It features an Ackermann steering for better traction in corners and it's one of the most direct steering you'll find in the market. For instance, the steering ratio is higher than on an 911. A lot of attention was also given on light weight solutions. There's lot's of aluminum in the body, patented aluminum suspension, aluminum engine it even features a carbon fiber driveshaft. The ZF gearbox was also chosen not because it's quick, but because it's light and compact compared to other solutions, especially those with dual clutch. I've driven a lot of cars in my life and the Stelvio drives better than most and I'm not talking just about SUVs. At the same time it offers really top quality interiors with real high quality leather. Despite the clear dynamic nature of this car, the ride quality (at least on the models with active suspension) can be smother than a Q5 or a X3 and it offers a very smooth and quiet ride for everyday use. You should test drive one if you appreciate the pleasure of driving beyond the usefulness of going from A to B.

The ZF8HP is the best single clutch gearbox in the market and can be even faster than some dualclutch without all the extra weight and extra space needed for a dualclutch gearbox. If you try this gearbox, especially in Dynamic mode, you'll see it's very quick. When we enter the 1/10 of a second realm, I'll say it's quick enough. Anyway, way much faster than any manual gearbox. Also, if you floor the gas pedal while in 'auto' it's not only the lag, it's mostly the car realizing you suddenly want to go faster and have to decide how many gears you need to go down. In manual mode, the turbo lag can be felt below the 2500rpm whenever you want to go from 'normal' to full blast'. If you're already in a dynamic driving, turbo lag is basically non-existent.

...and the infotainment is weaker than many of the competitors offerings. ...but it has a very fast response if you use the central dial. If you use the touch screen, then yes, it lags...

Brakes are the same fly-by-wire from the German company Continental. The pedal feeling is different, but it's quite easy to adapt, because in the end, the car brakes exceptionally well with the two piston Brembo brakes in the front, single on the back.
