I am driving it. The first edition Stelvio with 280hp. It’s a hoot to drive, the way it goes in corners is impressive and puts a shame on many pseudo sports sedans

I love my Alfa Romeo Giulia! Everyone seems to skip the fact that it come standard with Forged pistons and crank shaft and Brembo brakes! It even has a carbon fiber drive shaft. Non driving enthusiast would never know what any of this means. These cars are definitely performance first.
@Tekgnome.
@Tekgnome. 2 года назад
The GME T4 engine uses cast pistons not forged. There was incorrect marketing material published from a 3d party site that incorrectly states they are forged. We had someone pop an engine with a big turbo and nitrous and he confirmed they are indeed normal cast parts. You can also look in eBay and see the design is clearly cast as well. The rods, and crankshaft do appear to be forged though, and the pistons while cast can take a ridiculous amount of power above stock. Mine is daily driven on 32lbs and my hybrid turbo is sitting on my table waiting for me to get time to install it.

I have a 2019 Stelvio TI and absolutely love it. I have had many sports, luxury, and performance cars. The Stelvio is the most fun to drive with usable performance and handling in all urban and road conditions. Some of the items you mention are nits that I have gotten used to. When my 3 year lease was up I bought and plan on keeping it unless Alfa comes out with an upgraded version. In addition my seat backs don't creak!
@antonkukoba3378
@antonkukoba3378 2 года назад
I own Stelvio TI, and I can only agree about the rattle in really cold weather. It must be below -10 C for it to happen. The seats are perfect, no fatigue after 1000 km trip. Climate control is good. Much better than in Mazda CX-5 which I owned before Stelvio. And if you need all these driving assist features, why do you need a sporty car which involves the driver into the driving process? Assistance is not needed here. And I don't interact with the infotainment screen at all. I've set the car up once and that's it. Now I just connect the phone and enjoy Android Auto. So it's more like looking for the issues where there are none.

MazdaCX5 Turbo is about 10X better in every aspect - particularly considering fuel consumption. ARS is is wobbling and skipping through corners and the noise inside the cabin is deafening!

Thanks for the review Marek. Every time I see a Stelvio I'm disappointed that there isn't a Giulia wagon instead. I understand that SUVs sell at the moment, but it's a shame that there hasn't been a car company that's been brave enough to say 'Hey, we're going to promote station wagons/estates again because they handle better and look sexy, but are just as practical'.

I own the Stelvio Veloce (280) for a year and it's a gorgeous car in many ways. It's definitely for drivers, like old bmws were, not for (useless) huge-touchscreens-gadget lovers. The main thing that the car has to do 24/7 is actually.... driving! And Stelvio does that perfectly. The main problem is indeed dirt at doors entry as you mentioned. Why not to isolate this? (

I just purchased a 2021 Stelvio with 32K miles on it. It was a lease return that is in great shape. I understood going in that the car didn't have the sports package so no column shifter paddles nor a LSD in the rear - those can and will be added later though. What I liked cosmetically is that it has the unique Verde Visconti metallic green paint with a brown leather interior - a great color combo! Also this Stelvio has the 20" alloy wheels, and keeps all the chrome touches/accents which I prefer. This is my first modern Alfa, though I've had plenty 'vintage - pre-1995' models. Handling and performance are as advertised and I'm really happy with this purchase. I needed the practicality/space of a SUV, otherwise I would have been looking to buy a Giulia. I also considered a Jaguar F-Pace, but the slightly smaller Alfa fit my purposes better, handles better than the Jag, but truthfully the Jag wasn't too far behind + the Jag is a bit more luxurious. But then again, I couldn't be showing up at the local Alfa club meeting with the Jag, so the fix was in on the Stelvio!

I own Stelvio Veloce and I do not get where he gets these prices. Probably it is dependant on the market as mine was cheaper. In the price was included 5 year warranty and free maintenance services. 9:43 I did like it a lot ...and that's why there's one (2021) on my driveway. 😎 It's not perfect, the infotainment could be better, the rear camera is a joke, the turning signal level should operate like the wipers lever (turning in and off pushing the same direction), it has no ventilation seats, the panoramic roof is big, but only opens for a relatively small fraction. The Start/stop resets to ON every time the car starts... But the interior quality is top (even a friend with an X3 says the same), the ride quality is super and the pleasure to drive unique. If I was going to get a SUV in this category now, I would try out the Grecale which is a stretched Stelvio with better infotainment even better interiors and hopefully a close enough driving experience. EDIT: It has the same Giorgio platform than the Stelvio

I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage. I will never recommend this car brand to anyone again! Buy an AUDI, BMW or Mercedes instead.

Speak with a lawyer straight away. He (or she) knows very well what to do with the representative, they may give you another car even if they don’t want to.

@@Panagiotis_Pap I actually tried to sue them, but every attorney I talked to sad that they cannot do anything about it unless someone died or was paralyzed. I was actually shocked to hear that. I was 100 percent sure I would be able to get something out of them because of this. Sadly no though :(

Aren't You tired of copy/paste this comment at almost every Giulia test? Insurance is just exactly for that - to pay when something bad happen (of course, all according the law). S...t happens - You think Alfa is the one and only which cannot fail? There are brands much more "premium" and they fail - it is just plain probability - there is 50000 so 1 is a failure, someone can buy it = it is You - Yes, it is awful, totally agree - but this is life (more awful, someone can die! Yes, it is hard but this is how the world is working right now). Mercedes, Audi, BMW You say - do You want me to believe that they cannot fail, OMG! This is serious? Wake up! This is new world - everything can fail (almost always in the worse time - Murphy's Law).

@@willknott9245 No, he is not tired to copy/paste, he just did what he should do. I was ready to go for the Giulia but this is the second event (I’ve read) having to do with the faulty “brake by wire” system. The first one, was with a Stelio driver in Australia. I am disabled, and I have to be extremely safe. I think, Alfa should stop using “brake by wire” system and have a normal one instead, like all other cars.

I,d buy a stelvio, but it’s ergonomics are too flawed, and the interior suddenly looks dated

My Mazda is just as fun but more durable and cheaper. I also think the CX 5 is more sexy looking.
