CAR photography has always been the leader, and this video matches that quality ... plus, great review. CAR keep going with this content, you should have a million subs on RU-vid which can make more than the magazine ....
Movie quality CAR such a brilliant video - as an Alfaholic love that we get a new car in 2022 and hope this sells well to sustain the brand - we need some flair in this segment to offset the segments ubiquitous choices - la dolce vita 🎉
Great review thanks. Such a good looking thing - just the performance seems a bit of let down. A 9 sec 0-60 is pretty slow and beaten easily by some fairly ordinary cars both fossil fuel and electric. A bit more zip would really make it more Alfa. Other than that, like it a lot.
Best review I've watched so far of any Alfa done by a person who knows and understands the Alfa ethos and not by reviewers who love to complain about scratchy plastics or compare to German blah blah blah...........
An Alfa Tonale Veloce PHEV has as much sportiness, equal torque and adjustable suspension, more room in the back, all wheel drive, muuuch better looks, interior, visibility, more quiet interior and much much better gas mileage!!!! Why why would someone take this over that????!!!!!! Especially since Honda will mark up the price but 10k!!!! Plus, the resale on the Alfa will be garbage next year and a steal!!!!!!! Honda can screw themselves with the dealer markups. Plus, the Veloce will be a better collectible and nice when gas hits $7 a gallon.
The hornet is what, 9hp more than the tonale, plus a short term 25hp power shot. Not a huge difference. Both sound plenty powerful enough. The alfa looks better inside and out, but pricing and servicing costs will be interesting.
Looks fast but that's where it ends for me. It's a slightly below average run of the mill SUV with good looks but not much else and a hefty price tag. Plug ins just suck !! I'd rather go for the Stelvio TI. Good summary of the video. It's a shit car right now but in 5 years it will be better when everything has turned electric.
The rear window ”Windows Peak” isn’t from the 8C but first appeared on the Alfa 145 in the mid 90’s. No news to you, as an Alfaholic? 😉 Also, to be correct: Both this and the Jeep Compass are based on Fiat 500X
Now, if you were a true Alfaholic you’d know that the 8C model name was also used in the 1930s - during which one of the many derivatives featured the 8C line for the first time 😉
@@CARmagazineTV 😊 Would’ve been a touché moment if I could find a rear window with that bottom shape on any of the 8C’s of the 30’s…? Oh never mind! Keep up the good work!
This goes all the way back to the 2005 FIAT Grande Punto and 2006 Vauxhall Corsa, even the Alfa MiTo, they’ve definitely got their moneys worth out of it. But, the Tonale is a really good car
How can a Alfa be based on a Jeep. Stellantis are diluting the name of one the greatest names , ever.Leave Alfa alone, stick to Pug and Vauxhall Stellantis, give Alfa big engines free from restrictions of the green boys and let the brand live, Alfa means soul fizz and desire. This model at this price, failure.
The chassis is actually a Derivative of the Fiat Small Wide that underpins the Compass,Renegade,500x,Cherokee and the Tonale and the Hornet. Alfa needs this platform until the STLA Small,Medium and Large Platforms are ready for production. Without these small CUV Alfa will not survive on Big Engine and being free of restrictions. Times are changing !
@@Jz-vd5zg Only an idiot, seriously, an idiot, comes to watch a video of a vehicle brand they don't like, and then comments to the rest of us that they're terrible. GTFOH. And it's "you're". Another sign of intelligence.
It saddens me greatly to say...Alfa you are dead to me. OK, maybe being a wee bit melodramatic, but I fear my current Alfa Giulietta maybe my last, after almost 28 years of Alfa ownership
Personally I hate the BMW brand image so if I was in the market for one of these I would look. Alfa interiors are always nicer and more stylish than anything German.
Big mistake by Alfa Romeo. The last thing we need is another stupid SUV on the market. What we do need is a cool retro inspired convertible or fastback coupe. Now that would be exciting.
Oh FFS Alfa need to make money. A convertible or fastback coupe is not going to make money. The 4c was a massive mistake from Alfa as it lost millions...
Terrible vehicle to drive and incredibly overpriced. They took years to release a half baked product. Im not even going to speculate on the reliability of a French owned, Italian built Jeep...Lucky for Alfa most SUV buyers are clueless about the vehicles they buy so it should do well
Hornet will have different powertrain all together. It uses the 1.3 Turbo 177hp and 210 ft lbs of torque for the Base Model with Hybrid system it adds another 20hp and 60 ft lbs. and the Upper Trims are using the 2.0l Hurricane with a Hybrid powertrain. 285 hp and 383 ft lbs of torque isn't the same as the UK market versions !
@@bigmacdaddy1234 so what? Dodge are a legendary name too. If it helps Alfa achieve economies of scale then what is the problem? An Audi Q3 is a VW/Skoda/Seat too....Skoda and Seat are hardly more glamorous brands than Dodge. They were both government founded brands.....
