Hi Tim Well my friend you did a good job, some of the shops that looked closed aren’t closed but open later or only on certain days or in the process of re-opening/being renovated. It’s a shame I couldn’t have met you but this way it was your video and your interpretation which I think is important. Well done, next time you come I can show you some of the other places of interest in Alfreton, if it’s on a Sunday it won’t be so busy but wait till the bus station is done. There are lots of off street parking for free, very few resident parking only in our Town. Well Done Tim 👍
Richard I thought the on street parking was limited to 30 minutes? I realise some shops are open at night, but the ones I mentioned appeared to be shut completely, not sure how a business can afford to be closed for renovations. Best regards Tim
@@timawellshi Tim yes 30 mins on the town but loads of side streets for free, eg near the miners etc Some shutters were down but that doesn’t mean they’re empty. Some shops have changed use eg Oxfam is being converted into a restaurant like tge sign said in the window, The old burtons is opening soon as a discount store. Institute lane with the Bloomers is a bit dire with the old spec savers still empty, the old post office still empty, the old WH Smith’s still empty and the wilkos that was briefly a Poundland still empty. I might do a video just on the empty shops which is on the councils radar 🤔
@@timawells when they were sold to Sainsburys it was obvious that during and after covid they would be absorbed into Sainsbury’s stores unless it’s a special one think they have one on Buxton still 🤔
