Beautiful pond! I ve been cutting watershield weeds in my pond! Been at it for about a month! Hard labor I tell you! I put blue dye, and I need to use a herbicide for treating the watershield weed. They say those chemicals are safe, but I am afraid to kill the fish!
I appreciate the video, but a few mistakes were made. You do not want to use to much copper Sulfate at once but instead do small sections at a time or you risk low oxygen events which may cause a fish die off. Dead vegetation eats oxygen. Adding dye at the same time also reduced your algae bloom which also lowers you dissolved oxygen. Aeration is very important at this stage but you don’t want much subsurface such as a diffuser unless you have the time to slowly implement its use by using it for a short period of time and then Increasing a bit each day, otherwise you risk bringing up to much of the bad stuff from deeper water. Start day one with a half hour, the an hour in day two, then 2 hours days 3, doubling time each day until you can finally leave it on all the time. Hope this helps
