I'm an eleventh grader. I still don't understand algebra tbh. I'm here because I'm trying to re-learn math all over again after my teacher humiliated me in front of my classmates. I want to show him that I can do better, to make him eat all the filthy words he had told me.
Good luck! I want to go back to school and was reviewing before taking a placement test and I forgot everything I ever learned about algebra. Hopefully I can retain this information and get into scrub tech school at 35 😱
I've always wanted to learn physics, but was defeated by my lack of understanding of algebra! This gives me hope. At 70 years old, I'm going to try to learn physics!
I’ve always feared math simply because of the nature of its perceived complexity. I thought Algebra would be hard for me but after unexpectedly watching this video, I have realized how easy can math be if someone like this great teacher can explain and simplify. If you read this message, now that you are a great teacher full of problem solving skills. I’m practicing my math and physics for my upcoming aviation school application. Thank you for making Algebra easy and fun ❤️
ThatRaptorHero05 Haha. I had a great teacher. He gave out easy examples and we can follow it. But ones he gives out a quiz or exam, the questions will make you ask yourself "WTF did this questions come from?"
ThatRaptorHero05 I feel you...our school is horrible with teaching us,I ended up with a teacher that ended up quitting in 2 months and we had many different subs over the years..The last sub knew how our class was torn apart, thankfully she taught me as much as she could in the one month of school left..
I am 36 years old and have always struggled with even the most basic of maths. 10 Minutes into this video was like reaching Nirvana. I finally get it. To think there are Hundreds of millions of people who just don't get it because they were taught a certain way that did not trigger relisation and forever are destined to hate and avoid maths and be held back in life because of it
+Desert Born You are right because I am 1 of those that maths held back @49 though I started learning it again yesterday and hope 2 win this time around
EyeInTheSky i agree with u.. i been in the same boot..manage to have an associates but math was. lowest always... did enough just to pass..but after this video i promise not to fail math.. now am proceeding to my lvn..
I so wish they had RU-vid during my days in high school, I would have done a lot better back then...such a simple approach and the rules were easy to follow and memorize. Excellent video!
One thing I've learned is that you can have 5 teachers who are all exactly equal in their proficiency in math, and yet all 5 of their classes can come out in different states of proficiency. Style and brevity go a LONG way in teaching math. I couldn't stand sitting in a boring quiet classroom surrounded by people with a teacher writing in marker on an overhead projector. Just something simple like using different colors like in this video would have gone a long long way back then. All we got was black and white, and worksheets after the teachers confusingly zipped through. This 15 minute video taught better and taught me more than I was able to learn from my teacher in my entire Foundations II freshman class 20 years ago
@@soldier16160 How You know? U must be Psychic. Oh and it seems like I'm not the only one because you obviously skipped grammar class to play hooky with your boyfriend
I'm feeling the same way at 56 and hell it got me tearing up. Been afraid of math my whole life and even turned Down a few interviews because math was apart of the test. Learned more in 20 minutes than I did in high school
im 18 and hated algebra to the fullest but this video made me understand alot more , so i thank you very much for this help kinda wish you went a little deeper into the harder stuff
I learned so much during this video, I’m in 6th grade and I didn’t learn algebra yet. This helped me get ahead and hopefully get me into advanced math next year! :D
It's like I'm back in high school only this time I'm not falling asleep on my desk! 😝 lol but it was actually very effective and I'll be watching more videos, thanks guys..
omg 20 years old, I'm pretty sure this is like grade 4 math.. no teacher in my life has ever been able to get this through my head until now!! thank-you I feel accomplished in learning algebra. And it's actually so easy I wish I could redo school and get A's in math.. I've been living my whole life thinking there was some wrong with me because I didn't get this stuff 😰 Thank you!
Keesha YC public schools condition you to think there’s something wrong with you honestly. When in fact those schmucks lacked teaching skills themselves and therefore there was something wrong with them not us. My algebra teacher in 9th grade was terrible and in the middle of the semester all of a sudden he quit teaching and moved near the beach ... it threw us all off board as well ...
I have a test tomarrow, so I'm spending tonight rebrushing up on all the basic maths. I keep getting distracted though, but I'm learning ALOT faster then I was in school. You all keep it simple without all the bush-beating the education system tries to do.
+DeathsBestBitch because th equinox in our solar system is speeding up.. i have he same problem .. and I'm actually more interested in math.. crazy right lol. facing my fears
I'm going back to college to get a second undergrad degree and it's been 10 years since I had to even think about algebra at all. This is a great refresher!
It's been over a decade since I graduated h.s and it amazes me how easy this was to understand and follow. I was always terrible at math, no matter how hard I tried. The way the teachers taught didn't help much, either. Now I know I should have just went to RU-vid 🤷♀️
Great video. I love your teaching style. The breakdowns are easy to understand as opposed to the way some people really don’t explain how they actually calculated the math. Like detailed steps. Thank you. I’m now subscribed.

this really helped me a lot to understand algebra, ive been homeschooled years ago and had to stop school for a few years, now i'm going back to school and i've had anxiety because of my lack of knowledge, this video helped me a lot to understand algebra, thank you.
Thank you so much has it made algebra so easy to do and that is a wonderful experience for me and my brothers and sisters now that we know it and it's so easy

This will ensure that anyone who knows absolutely nothing in algebra can still learn it successfully 3. We used multiple modalities to make sure it is clear and concise. We use color codes so that your eyes can easily pick up information without you even putting effort into it. Thank you so much , you made my life easier ❤️ most of mathematic teachers they teach in a very quick way and I couldn't understand, but this video is way better , I really like her teaching, thank you
I am 36 years old. I took algebra three times in 9th grade and failed miserably. Now I'm homeschooling my 9th grader. This is his first year of algebra. I panicked. But thanks to this video, I get it. I feel confident I can teach him now and keep learning with him. Thank you so much!
My school is trying to bump me up a few grades tomorrow. So I thought I would try to go a little further in math by learning a little bit of algebra. I am trying to reach my goal of graduating at 16. That you so much for your help! ❤️
This is what I call the easy way, in the schools the teachers spend to much teaching you the history of math rather than teaching you math........you certainly make it easy
+Antonio R, You are totally right. The funny thing is that, the important things are easy and the history (unimportant) things are soo hard. Thank you for your comment.
+Antonio R they also never spend time with the students like me who severely struggled in math they only ever dode on the class pets who are math naturals hence why i am here trying to learn this higher math still
I think that it's not really that, the teachers try to give you the background information behind what you're doing so you aren't just memorizing how to do it, they show you the back end of everything
@@mccreamyxd6696 don't give up! I'm 30 and still struggle. Wish I would have stuck it out and graduated! Focus on your weaknesses first! Learn the multiplication table by heart!
Why can’t math teacher teach like this gild on RU-vid. Nice and slow and straight forward instead of talking in code. 🙄🙄 ridiculous. I’m in my 20s and I still didn’t understand basic algebra. Now this math teacher made it simple to understand. 👏👏👏 math teachers need to take notes
This video made me ecstatic, I have never been explained this logic of algebra. Teachers were ridiculous in my school time. Now when I'm going forward to associate degree in computer science, I need to polish my base and thought to learn in with open horizon and found this miraculous video. I thought I was never gonna learn algebra but wallahhh this is amazing and interesting. :)
I'm in 8th grade and l'm really bad at mathematics not only at algebra l even cried and had hard time because of math l also hated mathematics before but now l started to like mathematics and l got a bit better than before and l hope l get better and better, even though l failed my algebra math exam but l passed my phaytagores theorem and measurements exam, the reason l wasn't able to pass my algebra exam was because it was so complicated and it was also my fault because whenever l go back home and say that l will study everything l studied about mathematics, l always say later, later, later and then forget about it. Now it is school holidays and l won't miss a day and sit and study algebra all over again now that l'm going to learn algebra all over again l hope l will get better than l was in algebra this time. Please wish me luck l really want to get better at math because l want to become a doctor. And l hope that anyone's dream comes true. Thank you for this helpful video it really helped me releasing my mistakes and remembering algebra.
Hey everyone! I started my own algebra channel with a bunch of practice problems and tutorials. Would really appreciate any comments or feedback so far✌️good luck with algebra!
Thank you so much! I was in High School in the 90's, and if you had any learning problems the school just stuck you in a room to only teach you enough to pass the graduation exam, nothing more! So I never learned Algebra, the most I was taught were fractions. Seeing it explained like this in such easy terms, I have to say Im kind of pissed that it's easy. I kind of want to go cuss my old teachers out.
I am watching this again for memorisation purposes only. This is by far the best video. In algebra yet. Love the detailed explanation, the coloured coding of elements. Yes, I have a shitty GED teacher too.
Wow, I wish I had something like this when I started algebra. I always thought I was terrible at it, but I'm over here doing algebra equations with no problem.

Sorry for that. Sincerely. I don't think you or anybody is a dummy. If you watch the video, you will notice that the original tittle for the video is "Algebra from Scratch". We did a test and realized that the search term a decent number of people who need our help are using is "Algebra for Dummies". It's unfortunate, but that's the truth. We decided that if we want to be truly helpful then we have to present what the students are already searching for. By putting "Dummies" in the title we are able to help 300 new people everyday and these are the people that need our help most. It's tricky for us too. I personally hate to use that word but if we do not help those searching for "Algebra for Dummies", they will watch a bad video and will even feel worse about themselves.
Please do not confuse FREE with GOOD. I tried using Khan Academy when I was in school and it did not help me. He's doing a good job, don't get me wrong, but personally I won't encourage people to use it. My biggest problem with Khan Academy is that, "HE TEACHES JUST LIKE MY TEACHER IN SCHOOL THAT I DID NOT UNDERSTAND". The only difference is that he is using a video so I can rewatch it and pace it my own way, so it gives the delusion of better explanation. We teach in a very different way. This single video definitely doesn't do justice to our teaching method but checkout our course.. The biggest difference with us is that "WE CARE FOR YOU". Unlike most teachers that think it's your responsibility to pass, we believe it's our responsibility to make you pass. We take the COACH approach to teach. Your failure is ours. As an engineer with a background in analytics, we don't just teach math, we study students and teach in a systematic step by step way that will work for them. LOL! I know I sound triggered but frankly I feel protective of my students. I have heard of countless stories of students who had bad teaches or watched badly explained videos and change the course of their whole life. I DON'T WANT ANYONE HERE TO BE AN EXAMPLE
This is way better than when I was in middle school (in the '90s). I joined the Military and everything and a lot of the jobs I wanted they wouldn't let me do because my math skills were so low. I just didn't have teachers except 1 that had the patience to slow down. What's funny is that I got Geometry pretty well because I had a teacher that was patient and figured out how my brain I guess puts things together.
