Thanks so much for this lesson, i suffered with maths anxiety during primary school, and never really grasped any maths, because it created so much stress, but now at 57 years of age , i am wanting to fill in the gaps, and the other comments are so true...you explain it so easily to understand without the stress.

In my late 40s and back in school with a goal to eventually earn my BSN. I wish you had been my Algebra teacher 35+ years ago, I wouldn't have dropped out of my advanced math classes in high school. Thanks for helping me realize I CAN do math.

After realizing that I have been studying the wrong major for me, I have embarked on a journey to reach my future goal, it is amazing how a topic I was afraid of turned out to be so easy in just under an hour, you are awesome and a godsend, keep up the good work.
I just want to say thank you. I have been out of school since 1993. I decided to go back and try to get into a college for nursing school. I had to take a math placement test. When I took the practice test I knew I would be starting at the beginning math course. I started watching your videos and the way you teach is so amazing how you break everything down and explain it in such a way that after watching your videos and studying that I was able to pass the math placement test and scored so high that I don’t have to take any prerequisite math course. So thank you so much! I would recommend your videos to anyone.

Where were you 30 years ago!:) I failed Fractions and percentages and never even looked at Algebra, I have a my daughter (12 yrs old getting Tutored ) and she is amazing me everyday the forward steps she is taking in these subjects. So i thought i better have a look on th good old RU-vid and see what it is all about. I watched a few and sure they were good. But you are the MAN!! Thank you for the gift you have just given me and opened my eyes-to Maths. Once I was terrified by these and now just seeing it so easy! Its 1am here in Aussie and Im looking forward to watching more later today and really getting my head right around it. I love algebra now ! 👌taking my ged test on the 18th of this month . A day before my late grandma’s birthday . I thought I would have luck but after I leave class (lately ) I haven’t been feeling really confident and was planning on rescheduling my test until after the New Years . I am 66 and have had two strokes. I have brain fog from fibromyalgia and long Covid. I listen to the same lessons over and over until I get the concept. This teacher does not talk down to us. I listen to everything from this to trigonometry to calculus. I'm a fetal alcohol baby with ADHD but love math because it doesn't matter where you came from, what gender, color, age, etc you are, math is the same. It's RATIONAL and REASONABLE and FAIR. Great instructor.

Nice to see a video by an engineer that is also a very good instructor. Regarding the example that was used to describe a negative integer, I would suggest that the person that loaned you the magic marker is (-1) rather than you being (-1). The lender of the magic marker would use the expression (-1) in an effort to account for a magic marker that is currently out of their possession, and they expect will return to their possession.
Michael Summerlin, Ph.D. As someone that would probably score negative 0 on any math test today (because I just found Jason) May I say you could be or are confusing to people like me (I mean NO disrespect) but who cares about the lender? Nobody wants to hear about the lender. He/She is irrelevant to us/me. Let Jason teach his class without you making it confusing. Although I understand about the lender and now he is short 1 marker; but he is not relevant to this particular case and point. Let him teach, he is doing fine because he understands that some people really have a FEAR of this and that’s why he’s breaking it all the way down. You apparently don’t have our struggles but Jason understands to teach anyone anything no matter how simple or difficult, you must be able to teach it to a child. You on the other hand are wanting him to teach like he’s teaching people that already know how to do trig, calculus and chemistry. For the last time let him teach. Jason Jason where were you when I was taking algebra in high school. I barely passed algebra one and failed algebra 2 and had to take it over in summer school. I believe the main reason that I didn’t do well in these classes is because I didn’t understand the basic concepts which you make it so easy to do so. I went on to college and the only time that I needed to have a tutor was when I was in graduate school and had a statistics course and I was in a class of 140 students and I couldn’t ask any questions so I had to get a tutor then I did fine. I believe all students high school or college should take your course it really does help
It’s sad that my math teacher that I had in school did not really give examples , just show us it once on the board and make us do it , you actually give butch of examples and teach in pieces, you are a excellent teacher 🥳

Hearing the words absolute value explained so simply....it's no longer profanity to me....you reduced it to its simplest form without dumbing down....you make it make sense... Math traumatized me ....the teachers were horribly incompetent..you're insanely great .
Alright. I have to say this.... you are really really great math teacher. I have just finished watching this tutorial and I can say that I know anything that you tought in this tutorial. It is about breaking the barrier. She got held up at the chapter on algebra at grade 5. Revising and teaching basic algebra helped her to like maths. Maths is like climbing a staircase for students If they miss one step, they would think maths is difficult. If they miss 2 steps, most would give up. Just say maths is easy.
Thanks for making MATH easier. A lot of Professors can’t Break it down like that, they just assume everybody knows the basic stuff and they left you hanging. I just finish my math 50 few days ago and, it was a lot of struggle to get a B. Now heading for Math 120 , I’ll be needing a lot of help. Please recommend any video and basic ideas for this class . I am, however, displeased with myself for not persevering in pursuing a Mathematics Teaching Degree (At all levels!)! I have on numerous occasions tutored HS pupils. May I suggest the following for inequalities, we read from left to right, so first inequality no problem write down as is. For the second inequality we read from the middle in reverse order so reverse the inequality sign, I find that useful
