Honestly al haithem deserves an oscar award for playing everyone around him (other than traveler and paimon). Same with traveler and paimon. I was actually questioning if their plan had failed
i honestly thought al haitham's deception of still working for the akademiya was an obvious lie and that they were just doing the "i was always on your side" story thing (which soon shows to be the case after he talks about saving nahida). but the next few scenes was were i was really fooled, from al haitham being "corrupted" by the knowledge capsule, to paimon and traveler's shock of being deceived (although looking back at it, i did found it odd that paimon did not made another comment after al haitham said something about saving nahida, i was expecting something like "oh al haitham, you were actually not a bad guy" or something like that). i was really bamboozled
well, i also have a particular opinion, belief, or idea that there's a possibility Alhaitham has an intense or passionate dislike towards Azar's existence
For me the delivery of Alhaitham screaming traitor has to go to English, it just sounded so raw that you can actually feel it however when it came to him screaming Azar's name, Jp takes the win here
I genuinely don't know if he actually passed out after that or if it was still him acting. If it's the last one then jesus christ how thick is your skull sir
@@tyronetalam8488 That was definitely real. The dude that hit him was not expected to do so. The Sumeru avengers had only anticipated getting captured and having Azar believe Al-Haitham’s performance. Plus he got hit with a blunt object and that guard put all of his upper body strength into that. Bro’s Tanjiro if he wasn’t in the slightest bit dazed after getting hit like that 💀
@@tyronetalam8488 he probably passed out, but regained consciousness in time, since passing out like that wouldn’t suffice for maybe about 20~ seconds of unconciousness I’d assume
@@CX4_Pandea lmao imagine him getting knocked out wasn't considered part of the plan, only him getting captured, so when the spear made contact with his head alhaitham, traveler and paimon's collective thoughts was "Oh. Wait. Fuck-- 😬"
EN won the "you traitor" part but yo, that JP "AZAREEYAH" won my soul, the crispness of it and the anger came in my throat like i was screaming myself that name
@@johnd7760 I mean, he is supposed to be furious and out-of-control. Screaming makes sense in that situation. Sure, it's not so good in other situations, but it's great here.
@@Saga_Anserum Of course, but since its theatrics anyway, i prefer the eng va version where he is loud and angry but not loud like "someone died in front of him" level, if yk what i mean. That's how i see it, at least.
@@whatchasayin9363 IMO, i somewhat feel the same way. But i have to say, chinese to me seems the worst, because its supposed to show he is insane yet he seems to be calm
I agree, I usually go JP but I recently use EN now just cause I'm too lazy to read and prefer hearing it and surprisingly I prefer EN for the past few cutscenes
@@paintwithfrosty4324 What are you on about english pronounces it well since AlHaitham is one name ingame and not Al Haitham. He even pronounces Haitham better than the rest of them?
@@Fuphu I just realised that I might have made a slight mistake - I am not a native Arabic Speaker and forgot that there are different Arabic accents depending on where you live. When I was a kid, the way I was thought to pronounce his name was closer to the Korean version but with "th" instead of just "t". But I just realised that the English version is also correct if spoken by other Arabs.
Not gonna lie, I knew he was acting but I almost believed he really betrayed us for a second lol. He really deserves an award for being such a fantastic actor. All the VAs did an amazing job, I personally pick EN and JP for this one!
Not to discredit the skills of the jp va(I'm well aware of how good jp voice actors are), but there's also a slight advantage to the japanese language here i think. Like try to scream out both the pronounciations of "AZAR!!!!" and "AZARU!!!!" and decide which one's cooler. Sometimes small differences like this makes most people choose jp over english va even if the qualities of both are equal. Just a neat little thing that's been in my head for a bit.
The hatred in Alhaitham's EN voice, and the Scream of Rage™ of Azar's name in JP voice, they're both top notch. But imo Azar's KR voice is seeping with evilness, seriously.
Ok..the "you traitor" in English is so angry raw..but I liked how in Japanese that it feels like he's alternating between pain and anger..because frme his acting I'll assume he is in pain and feeling betrayed by Azar.. So yeah..pain then anger
Well, actually not really ,because Al-haitham pronunciation in Koran is ‘ta’ (ت) suond when it is ‘’ (ث) letter which you can say is a light ta sound, but still some how they are near from it, The English pronunciation of (ث) letter is good , we need to mix both to get the right sonud😅
@@mem--san6836 yeah you are right If i have to take it directly from the arabic letters indeed The (t) and the (h) combine becomes more like a ف/ث So it's more like al hai fam If i have to pronounce it the arabic way It sounds weird to me I really like the "tham" sound it sounds more dominant Than "pham Or fam" To be honest
@@cringyriano6399 Dud , I wasn't spell the word Quran ( The holy book ) I was spell Korean (country) 😂 Sorry to tell you that but you pronounce is also wrong (الهيثم) no need to add double A to spell it right 😉 Al-Hai-Tham is just all right 😉
Nazeeh Tarsha (Alhaitham's english va) did the best job here! It sounded so rough! Just made my heart stop for a moment. It looked like Alhaitham was really in pain
I love the delivery of the En VA of Alhaitham, that "traitor! you traitor!" gives me the chills, the En VA of Azar is also nice, I think the voice suit him the most
Japanese VAs are in a beyond level when it comes to screaming. You know Kaji Yuki and Hanae Natsuki? Yeah, they can break speakers with their screaming.
@@tyr4766 for a reason. In Japan anime is basically their entertainment and VAs are equivalent to celebrities so they make sure their voice acting is as great as movie acting itself.
@@tyr4766 It’s them literally not knowing about good english VA’s. If all you eat is McDonalds then you’ll think its the best food in the world, same thing applies here most people who are into anime only hear japanese screams more often that they’re unaware that other languages have just as many amazing VA’s too. Best english screams for me has to be Asura from asura’s wrath and 9S from nier, if ur looking for other amazing VA’s who’s voice is just as good and sexy as zhongli’s its not hard to find, the whole overwatch cast has amazing voice actors, the voice actor for dub baki and natsu and many more. (I have grown up in sub and listen to it almost exclusively but god are people just unaware and unwilling to give Dub a chance especially when it’s good so ye know you can see the action on screen and get the tone of certain jokes) Ive seen like 5 streamers misunderstand a joke ingame as “potential lore” cause they couldnt detect the light sarcasm in japanese or chinese then spend 20 mins discussing it with chat and no joke every person with non english dub (as english speakers) have went “when did that happen” after something important just happened in the cutscene, why limit yourself to 5% of the screen and fight between understanding what’s going on and enjoying the content. It’s different from anime since you can just pause and go back but this kinda gets on my nerves when people bring up how good japanese voice actors are in comparison. Sorry for the essay
when I was watching this cutscene (i play in jp dub) i was so surprised by how good it was and alhaitham screaming and i was like "woah alhaitham not calm? never seen it"
To think I wanted Sakurai voicing him back when I knew he is Su expy from Honkai Impact 3rd. Umehara did an amazing job. I wasn't into Japanese seiyuu for years so hearing his voice was a welcoming surprise.
ngl when you see Alhaitham in battle, you realize that he's got really good self-control for not beating Azar's face in and actually running slow enough for Azar to dodge him but fast enough to make a knowledge capsule switcheroo without him noticing.
@@2twice846 they always say CN dub in genshin always the canon one when it comes to interpretation and presentation of the characters, I'm afraid to say but CN dub is mediocre when it comes to dubbing and it always fails to give justice to their characters.
@@tyr4766 That just your opinion 😂 Most of CN dubs actually balance the overall character’s personality and appearance, not over-exaggerating or out of place or simply unfitting unlike some dubs out here, CN Nahida right there is simply perfect voice acting and not mediocre (the same goes to other CN voice acting like Zhongli, Ningguang, Itto, Ayato, Noelle, etc.)
@@dontshitontravelermains5498 Fr, and CN Xiao too. God the way he is portrayed in the EN dub butchered his character for the EN audience, it boiled him down to “emo and edgy” for them when in reality he’s actually just aloof; he’s kindhearted inside and simply wishes for others not to be near him lest they get a taste of his burden/karma.
@@user-ge4zv1br1n They all sounds the exact same?? Plus how is Chinese more out of the question than Japanese Don’t randomly criticise a language you don’t even understand 💀

And English and Japanese acting is really good, but to be honest. This extra growling-ish sound in Japanese voice...damn that's...that's the spice I want to hear
As soon as I heard the JP version scream, I knew this voice actor was definitely in Jojo and he was. Yuichiro Umehara voices weather report in Jojo stone ocean
