I was there on this day and felt you were genuinely interested in the event but watching this video I am disappointed to see you taking the piss so much. I am from London so I get the humour but you did not rep these welcoming people in the way you could have done. Glastonbury is full of friendly, interesting and most of all non prejudiced humans. Bad move for you I think
Yeah, and the fact channel 4 encouraged these disrespectful dude in the cap to walk around talking about "white" people will only damage race relations in this country.
Alhan and channel 4 should realise they can do this kind of banter without being bad-faith and mocking. No need for it really. Weird tone of just taking the piss out of white people for no reason
dont need to imagine, you people have been belittling black people via many forms of media for centuries - blackface being one of the most prominent ones. you fucks can dish it but cant take eh? and its a turkish man's show anyway (alhan) , so why bring black people up as if we're the proprietors of this not just go at him? so fucking predictable.
Funny to see the City meets Country. Despite the initial sniggering, I think you realised that Pagans are an interesting mix, and Lethal B mentioned something about Freedom.. That's it. I know Walthamstow and Glastonbury, they each have their charms!
@New Ancient It is to me about city meets country, having experience of both I would say if you took a sample of people coming from a city environment, you would find they know little or nothing of Paganism, if anything it would be what they've been taught in school, the system has obviously failed miserably for these people, having little knowledge of the Island they live on and it's history, and unable to place Avebury or Stonehenge on the map. There is an estimated quarter of a million pagans in UK at present (and that number does not include Hindu's etc) a fast growing number and presence that should be acknowledged. I would however question Channel 4s intent, in the making and editing of this, and not so much the individuals.
One thing I got from this is: alhan needs to grow up now and get more savvy with his humour. Also let it sink in that alhan is the most privileged, privately educated don there.
@@ajfreeney why do these people deserve mockery? What they're doing is no further from reality than any other religion or spiritual practice. They are not harming anyone.
@@ajfreeney I certainly agree with your extinction rebellion point, however that's a class issue rather than a race issue. It just happens to be that the vast majority of unemployed posh people are white. And regarding your point about these pagans failing to integrate with a multicultural society - they mostly exist in white parts of a white country. I think this video shows that they are not opposed to racial and cultural integration at all. They just happen to exist in monocultural settings
They were weird but something great I hope that carries on for years.and bizzel was great I love the way he showed them respect.cant say the same for the other man.im pretty sure he is a racist.but it's okay to be racist to white people isn't it.
This can be viewed in many ways. It's a television programme after all. Telling lies visually. The producers of this show had an angle. What I saw was C4 attempting to belittle Paganism and the ceremonies taking place. One could ask why? My answer would be, so that the people who watch TV (generally - & I don't like generalising because it doesn't include everyone) are being hypnotised by the black box.. Because that is its purpose. Black Box Programming. To keep people's consciousness in a black (consciously dark box) limited perception. To casts dark spells and black magic. It implants false truths, inversions and perversions in the viewers mind. And this is what this programme did. Clearly. It was taking the piss out of druids and paganism, which in truth, if you were to actually be with them and feel what they are about and listen and feel into the knowledge and wisdom they have and share you would potentially find it way more real than the bullshit and nonsensicality of that which is portrayed by TV programmes. The reason they are called programmes is because they are programming people to be the way they want the viewer to be. They have and still are shaping behaviour and warped culture. So they have no doubt in my mind purposely created this show to divert people from the truth in paganism so as to keep people dumb to it's true power and essence. Lethal Bizzle's bars were hard hitting truth. I could see they were listening and they appreciated it. Also, there was clearly a racial angle being portrayed here, where even Alhan himself (unknowingly or knowingly only he knows) is being used as a pawn to push the 'UK has a racism problem', which is designed by the dark ones who created the matrix / Babylon system to perpetuate division and hatred. They are continuing to do this by pushing the supposed racism problem, which I see as a fiction. Sure, there are some people who live in England that are racist, however the majority of people accept,.btace, cherish and love all races. We live in a beautiful diverse country. Only the perpetuation of the projected racism problem keeps gaslighting it. It isn't necceasry. So the request, if one truly wants to rise up out of division and hatred, people need to become aware of how the false matrix works and expose it for the untruth and deception that it is. And when you see it for what it is, splice it in half by speaking out. Say what you see. Be courageous. Use your voice and words to speak truth and cast positive spells. White Magic the way a druid does. The way bards do. Which the bard in green with the shades on did. He was calling out the devil, with which the dark matrix creators align their consciousness with.
"We live in a beautiful diverse country" Native population of London now 38% and falling "beautiful" Diverse London became the acid attack capital of Europe with a higher per capita murder rate than New York "beautiful" Rotherham: 1400 English girls raped by Pakistani men, decades of abuse, council and police turn a blind eye for fear of being "racist" no other word to describe it but "beautiful" and on and on...
British paganism isn't exclusively white. It's just that it is rooted mainly from the northern pre-Christian traditions and not many people from other cultures feel drawn to it because they have their own historic religions to turn to. There are a few exceptions. I've met one or two people of African descent who have felt more at home with Celtic paganism. It's more to do with what sings to your heart and spirit than anything else. There used to be a Hoodoo store in Glastonbury, less than 200 yards from where they were asking about Caribbean food. Glastonbury is a very eclectic place. Many Eastern forms of paganism are represented there alongside other spiritualities. BTW, 'paganism' means any non-Christian religion.
@New Ancient I don't really have a personal definition, because I really think that skin colour is a stupid basis for dividing up the human race. However, in the context of this video, I'd say the definition is more cultural and refers to those of northern European origin, which is where the pagan traditions expressed in the video actually come from. This said, it is possible to identify connections between British Traditional Paganism and Hinduism. So there is likely to be connection to an Indo-European stem religion. As a British Wiccan, I mostly follow the gods of the ancient Celts, but there are two Hindu deities that are also revered in our household, as well as the Egyptian goddess Bast. I personally consider all human expressions of spirituality as equally valid but I think it's often easier to relate to those connected to your own geographical area. In my own experience of British Paganism, I have only encountered a handful of people from either African or Middle Eastern backgrounds at gatherings or rituals. I consider this a shame, and I wish we were more inclusive but, as I said in my first post, it does seem to be mostly due to a cultural preference.
@@operationgoldfish8331 Well, there is a linguistic connection between Welsh and Hindi - both are descended from Sanskrit. I have a relative from Bombay who went to a family event in Wales, and despite not knowing any Welsh, she could follow Welsh conversation, because many of the root words were the same in Hindi.
@@benitolazio8193 Try telling that to our 800,000 British Hindus, the vast majority of whom are Indian. Hinduism, like Buddism and Sikhism, is a pagan religion. There are also two forms of Egyptian paganism well represented among our ranks. We're not all wannabe Vikings.
I'm not offended by this show, but would like to point out that there would never be a show like this about any other races in the UK. I'm from Africa and you would never see "Blackest tribes of Sudan" as a joke show on the telly. Really doesn't sit right with me but most people don't think twice
@@doshpits I don't care what you think or believe, I am airing my personal views on a public forum.I stand behind what I said, and you are getting emotional because you know I'm right. Prove me wrong by showing me a show airing on TV in Africa where they make fun of black people and it's celebrated and joked about. You won't be able to find anything, and will come back here with another accusation or insult, or you won't reply. I wish you the best in life anyway, and hope you can learn to be less hateful
@@UK-nf3ui i'm emotional yet you're the one unironically masquerading as a completely different race to get a nonsensical point across and implementing tirades on a comment section? and what a bunch of contrived dribble, you articulate this as if black people are the proprietors of this show when it was cultivated by a turkish man and funded by.. you guessed it, other whites. but of course you're beef is with black people, typical. and i dont't need to insult you, you've shown us who you are yourself. i can already smell your dysphoria through the screen, it's potent.
It doesn’t surprise me that this joke is funnier than anything said in this episode. Better yet it doesn’t mock or discriminate against decent people who aren’t hurting anyone
This isn't entirely what you have made it out to be. You say yourself that the pagans were around before any immigration so it would only make sense that they're white as their wouldn't of been any other cultures here, and you stand there laughing at them like some kid who can't hold is laughter. Have a bit of respect
Don't worship a fake, human created "God" worship something real, like mother earth and the natural world that supports human life. I would say this of course as my last name is "Paganotto" which means "8th Pagan" lol!
@kaza12345678 man sed dont assume the earths gender ur jokes I mean it depends what u mean by meant, if u believe that nothing has a purpose and nothing is deterministic then ur assersion would make sense but if u believe in determinism then this planet was always meant to have life when u study science u will realise how perfect this world is for containing life and how many factors and thing shave to be correct for life to be sustained and when u look at other planets u see even a sligh difference makes it impossible, science still does not know how life started it is a mystey. But it doesseem like a miracle
We welcomed you into our ceremony, and in return you disrespected us. This is really not ok. Those telling me to get a sense of humour, were not there on the day and are not aware of the lies told in order to get the footage. If we had been in on the joke, it would be a very different story.
It's meant to be humorous? I lived in Glastonbury 25 years and took part in many such ceremonies and I found it really funny. I do sometimes think pagans take themselves a little too seriously at times
You seem lacking in comprehension. Nobody except you seems to think this would pass for a modern representation of the celtic blooded British folks traditions.
@@ruthelliott-booth2816 actually about a decade ago the Pagan Federation achieved legal recognition through a Charity Commission loophole. Having participated in this show, albeit through their dishonesty, I am already in contact with the company that looks into their diversity standards. They fell well short.
@@BardicJim That's really really good to hear. I know the Pagan Federation do lots of good work for us. It's such a shame that Channel 4 thought this was a good idea, or that they could get away with it.
Lmao lethal moving to glasto, f all houses there ,population probs ain't much. Some mad places in Glastonbury tho, spiritual stuff, stones ,monuments etc
