'Sabu Yerkoy' means 'Thanks to God' in Songhai. Ali reportedly began playing this song in the 1960s to celebrate his native Mali's independence.

Non seulement les sonorités te font voyager à des années lumières mais te reconnectent au plus profond de toi-même. Son côté traditionnel est spécifique. I picked this album up on a whim at my local public library and it captured my heart and took me somewhere special. I can remember being a child with my sisters and cousins running outside with something special happening on the grill and the kitchen. I'm so glad I found this gem. I will treasure it always.
