I believe the producers used to tell the stars being interviewed that Ali-g was a kids tv presenter and that’s why they all kind of went along with it to a certain degree at the start

At the time he was doing this he wasn’t that known in America. he would stay in character the whole time he was in the room, so before and after they started filming
they think that it was a serious interview...it was b4 he was well known, the fact they thought it was a proper interview is what made the show...and why he had to change characters to borat and then bruno... all interviewees thought it a real interview, or group discussion etc...he often used it to show up people's prejudices (in a comedic way)....
Ali-G would hide amongst the film crew helping them set up equipment, while the camera man would be wearing a suit and nice talking with the interviewee. Then they would switch just before the interview lol...brilliant.
Ali G does one on a farm that is great. And my favorite one is where he is talking to religious leaders oh and I think there is one where he is talking to scientists about evolution and stuff that is hilarious too.

Working class English, Caribbean, South Asian... all melted together in a look & accent that differed from the past. Ali G is basically a (google) chav.

This is gonna come across as racist, but Shaq openly talks and jokes about how he loves going to the zoo, but every time he goes to the Gorilla exhibit, the males get aggressive towards him when they see him.
