The new quarry hunslet from Maxitrak, available as a ready to run model, 5" gauge and capable of pulling 4 people. A perfect starter engine if you want your own live steam garden railway.
thankyou. love these small engines and have spent all weekend runing them actually. want to buy my own but sadly we dont have the smaller track. we are 7.5 gauge.
Amazing job, congratulations, add a wireless camera and rc controller to get rid on that mini beast, and build a expresso machine too to enjoy both things! ;)
@balak121. For this money you could buy a reasonable second hand lathe and milling machine and the materials to build a small loco. It is very gratifying, but takes a long time. I built a Maisie a Sweet Pea and a petrol driven 0 6 0 shunter which I designed myself. Then a vertical boiler to run a stationary oscillating engine.
yes we can, we have a open day every summer and people are welcome to come along and try locos for them selves. We also have a railway available for our own use so if you can't wait until summer let us know and we can sort something out. Call us on 01580 893030
chubby7570 yes it is And it is In the rare gauge of 4.75" I The usa , The only two gauge that I know of that are rare for manufacturing Companies to build In is 4.75 "Inch and 3.5" inch not there aren't any it's just people now a days like running bigger engine .
закипел как чайник и даже водой плевался паровозик) Но удивлён что такой маленький и смог двух человек везти, всё-таки паровоз относительно лёгкий и не думал что его сцепления с рельсами хватит сдвинуть хотя бы.
gotta keep looking round the internet regularly, not sure where you could buy one over there, in england we use Steam Workshop or maxitrak or station road steam or even ebay but there are a few crooks on there. non of them are cheap so if you want one cheap i suggest buying one thats ran down but needs doing up
Minedyourself Gaming its very difficult to by a live steam in Australia as well as the USA because of the very unusual gauge and it’s literally impossible to by a CHEAP live steam locomotive
+dylan palombo Cheap is about three to four grand which is about how much 'Alice' costs. And that's in pounds sterling. A decent 4-6-4 or 4-6-0 will cost the wrong side of ten grand and that's in medium condition. Apart from a few of the cheaper mass produced stuff which you want to steer clear of, pretty much every loco was a commission job by some model steam engineer often lovingly and jealously guarded and traded amongst the avid collectors. Take a look at http: // www. steamdays. co. uk/ (link address minus the spaces). You'll also find others if you google 5" or 7 1/4" live steam) There's a few dubious trains on offer but if you look a few pages in their current stock, you'll find some lovely 5"-7 1/4" models. They're not cheap though although a nice investment if you have a local track at a park you can use. Charge a few small coins for rides on the train during the summer months and you should be able to cover your future maintenance costs should it prove popular. If not, and unless you have your own shop with tools, lathes and what not, then expect it to be almost as costly a hobby as keeping a light aircraft.
+dylan palombo We have a good selection of second-hand items on our website too and at the moment we have two Alices in 5" gauge maxitrak. com /secondhand. php minus the spaces, take a look these are all tested and come with guarantee's! Happy Steamin!
Bucket full of charcoal soaked in bbq fluid. Puts a few lumps on shovel, puts shovel on bbq fluid soak coal and lights coal on shovel... Good way to lose some eyebrows... Go careful next time ah lad. :)
You start of with too much water and every time we get a close up of the back head you have too little water. Water is the main thing you check not the fire. next time water first then do what you want to the fire.
They do but this one is the one capable of pulling two adults around ground Level track . The Mamod ones are only for the Looks (I too have 10 gauge 1 Locos)
