@Alice Cooper I used to be scared of your songs as a child but I'm a 14 year old guitarist now and I love your songs but my friends think I'm strange because I'm trying to learn no more mr nice guy on guitar
Saw Alice in concert 72 and 73. Unforgettable. Head chopping, dead babies, tooth brush chasing teeth around, snake charming. We just called him a freak but we loved him.
+paladin hgwt Yeah, same time period for me. The Specdtrum in Philly. He electrocuted himself in an electric chair at the end, and of course came back for an encore. Always did that kind of stuff. Just his stage schtick. Good entertainer. In real life he is just a normal guy who is an avid golfer and just hangs out with "normal" celebs and whoever. I mean he is rich, so he just runs in those circles. Izod like shirts the whole golfing thing. Except for the long hair, just an average looking golfer. Doesn't act freaky or any of that shit. Just his stage personna, and it got over big time. I had a good time, I think.
@@daddiikong1602 71 years old (or young, However you choose to look at it.. because age is only a number), and still able to perform as if he were only in his 20s or 30s! Where does he get that kind of energy from nowadays? Wow!!!!!
It was 1996 & I was going to Harley-Davidson repair school @ MMI in Phoenix. One Friday night I was in a blues club that was so packed I doubt a person would fall down even if they died. Standing at the bar drinking what was advertised as "the coldest beer in Phoenix," I was talking to some guy who looked familiar, & finally said to him, "are you Alice Cooper?" to which he replied, "yes I am" (or some affirmative answer anyway). At the time I did not know he was from Phoenix and that he lived in the house on the bluff overlooking the school I was attending. I seem to remember we had an interesting conversation, but also remember it was a beer drinking event and listening to good blues music.
"Other performers got up on stage and think 'I hope they like me'. I get up on stage and think 'they better like me, or else'". This was why Alice Cooper's shows were so creative and entertaining. He gave zero shites about what the audience would think
A tribute to the late actor Dwight Frye,a very underated actor..who never got the recognition he deserved..he died suddenly from heart failure in 1943..such a shame..such a talent.
The theatrics are amazing! BTW:I know that all of this is staged, but that nurse kicking Alice... hmm...I'll bet she wished she'd of never turned her back on him! That made his character madder than a whole nest of wet hornets! He sure took care of that little problem, didn't he?!?!?
I saw Alice Cooper in concert twice and yes he puts on a great live performances and it way worth the money so yeah go see him because u will not be disappointed
Still my favorite Alice Cooper song; it's amazing how well it works as either a slow, tragic ballad (as in the original album version) or an aggressive, psychotic stage act...either way it hits all the right moods for us bug-eating lunatics!
1971 Love it to Death. There third album. Cooper and Bruce wrote it in 1970 I believe. Im old as dirt too because I seen them in 1972 for the first time when I was 16 years old.
Never get tired of listening to Alice Cooper since I was a young teenager..66 and still listening. His concerts are awesome, Can't wait to see him again in august at Pine Knob in Clarkston Mi.
Loyal fan of Alice since 1972, that makes.. 46 years? I`m 51 now. Wow. And this song is just a master piece of art. The keyboard riff... you just can`t get out of .. your head for days or years?? or unfold lives? God saves you Alice
tasha brooke x I agree.. Alice is also generally an overlooked lyricist as well.. His themes are unusual, which paves way for uniquely brilliant phrases.. :)
I always adored Alice (Vincent) and my teenage years included discovering Schools Out album and realising what a fabulous creative person he is and what a fabulous bunch of musicians he had working with him - underestimated I guess because of his persona - he is a true musician and story teller -the songs that made the public airwaves often got in the way of people discovering the true gems hidden in his body of work.
Vinnie is a theatrical performer - an artist. Small-minded people have phobias of the arts and artists. They cannot tolerate anything new or odd. He is really quite a sensible person - nothing to be afraid of. He is a joy to watch work.
scott, me too since he 1st started. I still love Alice. He lives here in my city. He does alot of amazing things for ppl. A great person as well as a great artist. Dusty the 2nd.

@@alicecooper2793 How do I know this is really you Alice? I have seen every concert of yours and have loved you since your inception, you are only a tiny bit older than I am. You were the shit back in your day. Still love you. I know where you live, as I live there to. Can you tell me that?

I saw alice cooper play this song live 2 months ago i think, he played this song one of his last songs i´ve listened to it plenty of times among my years and i have always been impressed by the scenario he paints for us both visually and foremost musically such an amazing song and artist!
You have such a profound impact on my career that even the biggest thank you text would fall shout to express my gratitude. Thanks for your support and the love shown stay safe ❤️❤️❤️
The movie Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp brought me here. Alice Cooper makes a small appearance in the movie singing two songs. Had to watch Alice sing this song. 💔 Saw him in concert many times in my teenage years! He's still rocking with Johnny Depp in Hollywood Vampires! 🦇
The most amazing part about this song is that he was in an institution... seven years after this song was released. And he hit the nail on the fuckin' head.
I saw Alice cooper in Fargo of 2023, the first time I've heard hos music. I heard of him but nothing much. And this song drove me too him. Amazing artist and puts on a great show.
Saw an interview with him years ago. He stated he was a functional alcoholic. I saw him many times in concert in my teenage years in the 1970s. Love him and especially Johnny Depp in Hollywood Vampires. Also saw Joe Perry with Aerosmith many times too!
oh yea Alice Cooper , im 55 and I grew up on Alice Cooper, 1977 crusin in my 66 Chevrolet 4 speed on the floor 396 moter and this song playing on my 8 track, they both went together, there was something magical about it
+Junior Mccready ditto- great stuff- this man was a classic- started many trends in rock music- an true originator- Head bangin rock- shock rock- great theater- lyrics noone else could touch at the time- he even had early rap- many musicians owe this man for leading the way-
im 23 and ill be saying the same thing. though i was like 8, sitting in my conservatory. listening to this and singing it. oh and going to london with my alice coper shirt too big to fit. and having wierd big biker dudes look at me, point and smile. then i got older, went to a concert - saw a little kid wearing an oversixed alice shirt and all I thought was "aww, that was me.. the cycle... it continues" long live the coop!
Finally - finally managed to see him with the HV's 2018 uk tour. My wife wanted to see JD but really took to the Coop. I say finally because having followed him since 1972 i just never got around to go and see him live - i def class him as an Honorary Brit - Class act...
Alice Cooper's music has always stood on its own for me. The theatrics of the show are a bonus. It's like watching a movie with the best soundtrack ever.
I saw AC in 73 when I was high school. I wasn't really a fan, I just went with some friends. I became fan because of seeing his show. There was nothing like it anywhere or for that matter "anywhen". As fun as these shows are , the music is why he has lasted. These years (early 70s) were the time when Alice was the freak that was chic. All the kids were fascinated because he wrote songs just for us. Schools Out is the definitive defiant rock anthem.
"Mommy, where's daddy? He's been gone for so long Do you think he'll ever come home?" I was gone for fourteen days I could've been gone for more Held up in the intensive care ward Lyin' on the floor I was gone for all those days But I was not all alone I made friends with a lot of people In the danger zone See my lonely life unfold I see it every day See my only mind explode Since I've gone away I think I lost some weight there And I, I'm sure I need some rest Sleeping don't come very easy In a straight white vest Sure like to see that little children She's only four years old, old I'd give her back all of her play things Even, even the ones I stole See my lonely life unfold I see it everyday See my lonely mind explode When I've gone insane I wanna get outta here I…
This is the first time that I have seen a stage show of this song. While I like this song and AC's music for decades, I think this portrayal is demeaning and makes light of plight of those who are struggling with a mental illness and institutionalized. It is no joke. I say this as someone who has studied the topic of mental illness. It's so sad. So very sad.
OMG, I LOVE THIS SONG & ALICE GAVE SUCH AN INCREDIBLE FREAKING PERFORMANCE!!! I LISTEN TO THIS VIDEO EVERYDAY.... MEANING MORE THAN SEVERAL TIMES PER DAY!!!
He was meant for this life or be a eccentric teacher in the arts. So thanks for being a maestro of your art, and show it to all of us. We love you, Cooper. We definitely aren't worthy!
A true master. Alice was my very first live concert, as a kid of 16. Seen many concerts since then, stones, who, rush, black sabbath, if it was live in the 70's through the 80's and rock and roll I was there, the great forum, in los Angeles. Still chasing that high I got from welcome to my nightmare.
You have such a profound impact on my career that even the biggest thank you text would fall shout to express my gratitude. Thanks for your support and the love shown stay safe ❤️❤️❤️
Fukin Alice Cooper!!! Have LOVED Alice since 6th fricken grade....seen him in Denver on a St Patties day. Always and forever a fan!!! God Bless you Mr. Cooper!!!
The ballad of Ronald... more like huh🤪Lol😜...I'm going through hell and this song really made me smile... Thanks Al Coop One of the best performers all time!
Ron I know exactly what you mean, just keep on with the keepin on brother!! Fuck all of the haters and the people who are so quick to change coats on ya...
I always loved the part where he reasons to himself whether he should go or stay. Like when he's saying 'no...no' it's the last shred of sane, reasonable Alice. Knowing he's too dangerous to be let out into the world ever again.
I always enjoyed seeing him in a straight jacket and how he gets out of it in strength. The best part is when he strangles the nurse with revenge. I like the way he keeps our attention. I believe, that he is the only one who has done this kind of act on stage.
I was in 7th grade during 1971 when Love It to Death was released. My friends older brother had the album and we played it so much that we burned the grooves down to the wood on that vinyl record. Sun Arise is the song that follows Ballad of Dwight Fry. Nurse ratchet from One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest has got nothing on this ! LOL !
Wow... Suddenly it's 1972 and me and my 8-track player are blistering thru Love it to Death brushing the long hair and looking for chicks... Aaahhhh... Those were the days.
+Aberdumbie I snuck in I love the Dead into the school's radio day (Friday's the principal would play CD's over the intercom for the entire school) back in 1994. I was born in 1976 and love Alice. And yes, I have my long hair still (what's left of it anyway lol). Never stop Rockin'!
