Great shout Alice! Love Salem's Lot. Reggie Nalder was perfect as Barlow. Geoffrey Lewis was incredible as the vampirised Mike Ryerson. Remake coming out later this year, nothing will ever hold a candle to the original masterpiece.
Can't agree more, Alice! Salem's Lot (1979) is a masterpiece and I don't even care about WB buring the new version before its out cause nothing can beat the original.
Alice has got very good taste, Salem's Lot is a masterpiece in horror, I was 10 when I saw it and I can say to this day its the only movie thats ever scared me.
Tobe Hopper did some wild improvised effects for that movie. Things like reverse cigarette smoke behind the levitating vampire boy.. I mean just putting that into words is chilling AF !
I love it that he's a Salem's lot fan like me 👍 I saw it when I was 7 years old on 1979 and it's still my favorite horror film to this day!!! I'll never forget watching it for the first time! We were in the middle of nowhere in WV visiting relatives, staying in a single wide trailer on 10 acres of nothing but the woods. I was terrified to go to sleep alone that night so luckily my parents had me sleep in the living room with my brothers but still was scared lol. Salem's lot will forever be my favorite TV movie!!!
Salem’s Lot with David Soul was untouchable.. No one could of played Kurt Barlow better than the legendary Reggie Nalder…. I subscribe to Boogeyman Ben,as well, who is one of the biggest Salem Lot fanatics out there who covers tonnes of Salem’s Lot info!!
I love Alex Coppers's picks for actual scary movies ... they resonate with a lot of people...(me included) I thought his choices would be sicker....slasher...darker twisted (junk.).... He really is a class act!
I was born in 1969 so I was a child when I saw Salems lot I think I saw around six or seven years old but I remember it vividly. And it was by far the most horrifying picture I have ever seen from then even till now. It's because they knew how to make horror films Batman Friday the 13th movies I saw when I was a teenager or slasher films and yet although terrifying to some degree did not match the likes of Salems lot or even phantasm
What the hell is he letting his 5 - year - old daughter watch Salem's lot for ? I know it's no Exorcist but what apparently normal adult allows a little 5 - year - old to watch Tobe Hooper's Salem's Lot ? No wonder the kid ran into a wall... Probably out of sheer fright and terror .
@@CinemaDave lol! Well who woulda thunked it?! Now it's a Christmas movie just like Die Hard lol! [ps - i've never actually watched ANY of "The Godfather" movies YET, but they are on my shortlist!]
It is the best vampire movie ever. If a remake does happen it will never ever beat the original, you are supposed to remake rubbish movies with good stories [end of]. An only way to make an equally if not better version of salems lot would be to copy the original perfectly as in Barlow looking exactly the same, same events happen except - there is added horror and gore to the scenes from where they usually stop to leave to the imagination. That is the only way to make an equally if not better version, PLUS NO CGI!!!!
I like Salam’s Lot, and the Vampire is similar to the first Vampire movie ever made - Nosferatu As for great Vampire movies - Let the right one in (is probably my favourite) Only Lovers left Alive (also a good one) Bram Stokers is not bad. Robert Eggers remake of Nosferatu, now that I’m looking forward too.
¿bram stokers is not bad? or francis ford copola is not bad?because they are a lot of dracula movies of stokers,...the same as salems lot 79 its from stokers dracula and hammer prince of darkness 1966
