I would think the starting of Season 3 could be Ariasu found the flim tape (somewhere) that he and Usagi was watching in the van. Then the Joker card game starts. But the ending I'm not sure how they are gonna end it realistically like season 2. Tbh I just want to see more games played, as long as I know Season 2 ending should be the final ending
Basic, the joker card means they go back to real life or world but ofcourse the joker card is playing tricks on them.. And the fact that they get back to real life is a joke.. they are still inside the f***cking game hahah..😂 .. i want to meet the joker in season 3.
It was a solid season in my opinion. Chishiya is clearly a star. Every scene he’s in, he just steals the show. The Solitary Confinement episode and the King of Diamonds game were well done because he was at the center of them.
@@Snzn_7 it is just still their imagination inside their head, that people are all dead (they playing as moderator of number cards) once the number cards are all finished, they will die. sure they can continue making more seasons based on anything they got from the manga. but if you read the manga or the spin off it ends just like this.
@@Snzn_7 I think though that that along with the overgrown vegetation and everything are mainly there to be used as red herrings. The final challenge used the red herrings to throw off Arisu from the game.
it would make sense if the joker card at the end was just a joke being played on its viewers. it wrapped up completely well, explaining everything we needed to know about the games. (how, why and when) though you won't catch me complaining if there's another season of AIB with more games hopefully.
@@heavenlypath1065 or maybe since the borderland is a place where people go in the state of life and death, a new level is added, created by the two guys who chose permanent citizenship.
i feel like they want us to believe that those were all games made up from their minds, but having the joker scene at the end it makes us believe that either everything is fake and it was all a joke or the games continue in real life, or they never escaped borderland.
I'd not even heard of this show until 3 days ago, and I've watched both seasons since then. The ending makes me think there will be more seasons. The reason being: The ending where people don't recognise each other could've easily been shown that they do recognise each other. Had a chat about their experiences and lived happily ever after. That would've been the perfect ending, and nothing more would be added. Showing the Joker card with ominous music + the bitter sweet ending makes us want to know more. Why would the creators do that if they weren't teasing us about a 3rd season.
The joker is nothing that important . The joker in the manga is the one that shows the souls the right direction to come back to life . That’s it nothing else. In the manga he talks with Arisu but the series skipped that part. The manga ends exactly where the series ended except it shows a bit more , it shows Arisu and Usagi getting married . There is only another manga that can be used as a season 3 called Alice in Borderland Retry , in which Arisu suffers another close to death experience and is transported back to the Borderlands. Yhe Borderlands is like a Limbo between life and death , in which souls compete to either stay in the body and come back no life or die . For example Ann died in the game but came back to life in real life because the machines saved her , however she either came back with her soul or her soul died therefore she came back as an empy shell. Its a Limbo , the games are not real they represent your soul fighting to stay alive basically
@@symphonixblades I think Ann came back fine. After they got her heart going again she opened her eyes and a tear slid out. She's not an empty shell. I'm wondering if she really died in borderland or if she just passed out and we thought she was dead, and as she couldn't answer the question to stay or to go, when Kuina took her hand and declined and said let's go back together, they counted that as Ann's answer as well. Akane, Kuina, and Aguni all seemed to receive way more fatal injuries (I still can't believe Akane survived).
probably did it to give a nod to the manga and tell the viewers to maybe go read it. lots more backstory to ALL the characters there and there is actually a sequel that just released last 2020 with a returning Arisu as the protagonist
They could have just put the joker there to leave the option for third series open, doesn't necessarily mean they will. See, to me the series was in essence an exploration of what gives life meaning, value, and the power of human heart. From that perspective the joker card could also be the writers way of telling g his audience to not take life too seriously, since we all searching for meaning within it
Honestly, I hope there won't be any other season. I mean, I enjoyed both of the seasons, but this happy-end was everything my soul needed. Maybe I am too emotionally attached to the characters, and I don't want them to die, but yeah, two seasons with this kind of ending was completely enough for me.
Can’t be the only one disappointed with the ending, it just reminds me of “it was all a dream” stuff. A lot of questions still unanswered, love to see a spin off but the game master point of view
Joker card is what you basically get when you get you'r second change. In manga a dark "entity" slapped joker card in the table and asked if hes devil or god, and after that came the meteorite scene, so that tells that's it ☹️
@@rolex5134 umm sure i can try. They are in "borderlands of life and death" it all really is happening in one minute and they all got there because of a natural disaster that happened at the same time they were in the same town. If it was like a nuclear bomb they couldn't fight anymore. All the cards but joker were introduced in the games because joker is like a cheat card., so the ending explains that when they chose not to be citizens of that life, they could go back to real life and so basically get the joker card. All those who died in the games, gave up to their chance to get back into the real world. And those queens and kings that were in the game, chose to stay, so they died in natural disasters before that meteorite. So if you want to stay in borderlands, you are dead in real life but only alive in the borderlands. If you die in there, you are dead in real life too, but if you want to get back, you have to fight the death in that one minute your heart was stopped.... hope u did get that XD
@@LastWeatherOFFICAL so is that mean the joker card is not for season 3 but to show that the player has cheated death cause the joker card is used for cheating the death in the manga? i’m just wondering 😁
@@rolex5134 From my experience i think that borderland is purgatory and the joker card represents the game master a divine entity who could possibly even be the devil and that would explain the lazer beams and the supernatural things that happened in the show
@@rolex5134 it's basically a limbo between life and death, when humans experience sudden death there consciousness awakes at another world in order to survive the death. It got spin offs of the manga but I would like to see Alice in Borderlands Retry where we will get to see only Arisu playing one more time. It will be like an additional episodes just like Sandman series
I simply think the joker is used to keep fans anticipating a new season, because the joker could mean that the hardest game in reality is life itself, or it could mean that they still haven’t finished the games. The ending is already set itself up perfectly for marketing and if they don’t want to continue on with the series they still have a great ending
It's a limbo, meaning, the border between life and death. The limbo in AiB is interpreted as a game world where people (that was caught in the meteorite incident) are forced to fight life and death (play games and complete it). Those who didn't survive in the game also didn't survive irl. After they finished the game, they were asked to choose either permanent residency or to decline. Those who chose permanent residency are probably in coma and those who declined returned irl.
@@seraph818 We can't really tell if she was fully dead yet in the game, maybe she was just on the verge of death and lost consciousness. as we have seen she was brought to life by the doctors.
I'd rather the series just end at Season 2. It was wrapped up very nicely and doesn't need continuation. Edit: I can tell a lot of people in this reply thread didn’t read the manga.
@@Black67877 Well there are 2 ways you can look at the ending 1. It was all a joke on the viewers ( Ending ) 2. it's all a joke for the players ( Season 3)
My sister's friend from Tokyo works in entertainment and knows a writer for the show... so let share a little secret... The joker is a signal to the audience that the reality everyone living in (which they think is real) is in fact just another level to the game. Another false narrative. This means they are at the last stage. The final chapter. The false stories the queen of hearts told weren't true and neither is this reality they are living in right now. The fact they think it is will prove to be wrong in the first episode of season 3. Everything will be revealed... *Including the fact I don't even have a sister and this is just my theory. But hope you have fun reading :)
Don’t think there’s gonna be another season especially after the ending wrapped things up. Those who survived the games survived the incident, the ones who died didn’t make it and the ones who decided to stay could be in a coma. The joker card just means it’s over and they now how to face life
If I were to write season 3, I'd ditch all these characters, go back into borderland, and do the show with the stars as the characters who chose to stay
Agreed. I was hoping that some characters like Chischiya or Niiragi would choose to stay in the game world. That way, we could either have a season from their point of view, or have a bunch of new characters trying to beat the games, while encountering new Kings, Queens and Jacks - that being Chischiya, Niiragi and others. We could have them as the antiheros this time around
A borderland exists and we will 1 day experience it, ( if you were ever in a near death experience ) Most People who waked up from a deep sleep (coma) feels as if their dreams are too real
If they do a third season it will be about Alice in Borderland Retry . Basically Arisu suffers another near death experience and goes back to the Borderlands but this time he is alone. Arisu is Alice so the series and manga are about him
In my opinion the joker card means that for the players it's not over yet, if so then it would mean that there will be a third season. It could be that the players are not back in their "real world" yet, but they are still inside the game and who knows maybe what they are experiencing in their "real world" could be the last level or game. The joker card could mean that the creator if we can call him that is making fun of them.
@@XUARTY I haven't read the manga yet, but if the creators of the TV series want to stick to the manga then it means it's game over, but if they don't want to stick to the manga it might mean it's not over yet, and I hope it's the second since which is my favorite tv series.
I might have missed something but it didn't seem like Arisu remembered anything either. But I was honestly expecting the King of Spades to be Usagi's father. I guess he could be the joker if they do continue the series at some point but I for one would be okay if it ended here. The characters have been through so much and it would suck for all their losses and sacrifices to be for nothing.
I love season 1& 2 but i more prefer for them to make a spin off series rather than season 3? Like i want to know how's the first batch of ppl that arrive on the borderlan, who are the 'original' king, queen, and jack before being replaced by the residents, and what will happened to 2 ppl that choses to stay at the end of season 2.
Borderland has been there for ages, anyone who had a near death experience goes there whether it was when Arisu’s city got hit by a meteor teleporting all the injured people there, or whether it was 2,000 years before that when an ancient samurai was heavily injured from a battle.
I think there could be another season but focus on different characters. Like the murderer and the other guy in the suit. I don’t know how Arisu would tie into that though.
@@dmacg5520 i mean all the characters are usually given flashbacks about their past, i feel these 2, just nothing. anyway the manga says this is the end so
@@footballminds3706 They're in a coma. When their Visa eventually expires, they'll die since there are no more games. Also, we know that one is a con-man and the other is a serial killer. That's enough backstory. They're not sympathetic characters.
@@bendover7841 so do they have to actually win the games in the borderland to survive IRL or, if they survived IRL then they happened to win the games in this imaginary borderland?
My theory is that since there are 52 cards and 2 jokers the 2 guys that chose to stay would also return but with their memories kept and they would try to bring them back. My 2nd theory is that all of the survivors will be drawn to each other and when they all get together they'll remember borderland and will have to play 1 final game in the real world. Consequence: return to borderland again
@@aeyuujoker card has no numbers or suits meaning it is unpredictable like life is. Since those who made it out alive now have a second chance at life it is now their own game. My kind of interpretation. One thing that killed me though is how the relationships between them all and the love arisu had for usagi is literally thrown out the window and no one remembers anything at all.
@@aeyuu yeah and I don’t think there would be a lot for the writers to go off. They did seem to be able to make season two better than one. I think the season two ending is good. Only complaint is that the relationships/friendships built and the love arisu got for usagi was all just thrown out of the window at the end and basically said you’re all strangers now. I mean because the borderland is what I think is meant to be the stage/place where those injured by the meteorite are fighting for their lives. None of them could have done it without those they formed bonds with. Usagi, Kuina, Ann, Arisu, archer girl ect ect
Its almost same as having a sleep paralysis where u wake thinking nightmare is over but soon u realize its another layer of the dream mix with what our eyes can see but our body is still in paralyze state... I experience 3 to 4 layer of this state and waking-up like I run a marathon lol...
If season 3 will come here is some of my ideas (if u are bored cause the season two is now done try read this hehe): They will introduce the manga retry (if u didnt read it yet read it) there arisu is a licensed psychologist i know this is kinda farfetched but after that meteor incident arisu gain an ability to go inside a patients mind or dream making him a (joker) but he didint realized it for 8 yrs until the retry incident happend (for me joker has the role to make miracles but its unpredictable) therefore arisu's role is to help as many of his patients possible by going the an patients mind and play the card games so they can survive (ofcourse the risk of him dying is there but his profession is to help others and counseling too xD) ironically his role is similar to the queen of hearts game but then a rich family or a mafia (lets just say a bad guy) learned about this and kidnapped arisu. I will use the same cast (usagi is a sports trainer in the retry manga) and ask the police for help but the police or authorities wont do anything cause of the influence of the bad guy this will force usagi to take action on her own and ask for hikari (best friend/military special forces no more bikinis for hikari xD) for help they met and got close at sports training (climbing) she trained at then chishiya's role is the same (doctor) but he became a military medic cause he is tired helping rich people get in their way and forces him to abandon the poor and there he met hikari (you can decide if they are a couple or not xD). The reason for bad guys to kidnap arisu is to help her daughter thats been in coma for 17yrs (but they plan also to abuse arisu's power cause they can just kill their enemies while asleep) now there two games to be played first is arisu's mission to help the bad guys daughter and the other one is the real life where usagi, hikari and chisaya mission to save arisu. And in deck or cards there is black and red joker so arisu could be either one and they can decide whos the other joker (Sorry got bored i want to share whats on my mind 😂)
Holy shit.. someone get this guy a financial sponsor to make a movie! Haha. Great job dude! That was a really good plot! Even better than most movies out there (looking at you steven seagal)..
If its based on the manga, the story pretty much end already. The only part that still missing will be the 2years later Arisu and Usagi got married. Don't think they will do a whole season just base on their marriage lol. But who knows maybe there will be a side story just base on the last game the "Joker Card" the ultimate stage.
They could do Alice in Borderlands Retry which is the sequel basically Arisu suffers another near death experience and returns to the Borderlands and plays the game again alone
I would welcome a season 3 if they can make it as gripping as 1 and 2. This show gives me Lost vibes and like that show it's full of mindfucks. I just hope they don't drag the show out longer than it should do and keep it fresh. I only discovered this show probably just shy of 2 weeks and I've loved every moment of it.
Personally I think since they are in (real world) and the joker card has appeared they could still be in the game without Knowing and still be trapped in the borderland or the joker has entered their World and they have to face real challenges
If you read the manga, The Joker is like the ferryman or the grim reaper The Joker card seen in the ending could mean game over The series can't stretch anymore sadly
For my Season 3 I would like how the Season 2 kings and Queens became the kings and queens of cards like (apparently is in the manga but short) how did Mira, Kyuma and even the king and queen of spades became citizen so when the tie up the Joker card what was the better choice the ones that stayed in Borderlands or the ones Decline and also a nice to end the series.
Often there are two jokers. We also know that only two characters are shown to have chosen to stay in the borderlands. Hmm?? But I genuinely think the ending was satisfactory already and i dont think season 3 is needed.
Yeah the ending without the Joker would have been the perfect way for it to wrap up! But with it finishing with the joker, it just added a who new layer!
Has anyone notice in the intro that A is highlighted and we haven't seen an Ace card ♦️♠️ in any game ???? 🤔This must be going to another level in upcoming season as per my theorie. 🤟
I think it’s perfectly justified if they leave the show with this joker ending. It’s how we interpret the ending that makes it open for the writers to either continue or finish the story here.
Joker was revealed to be a supernatural entity like a god of the borderline a place between life and death there is nothing weird going on like joker is playing a trick but they could make a movie because in the manga arisu comes back to the borderline on his way to his child birth in a accident he gets into nothing more he comes back after just one game and him and usagi live happy ever after thats it the end nothing more to tell
Maybe this would explain why Usagi didn't know what the internet was in season one when during a conversation He said something refurring to Online gaming i believe it was she said (Online) with a confused look on her face.
There wont be season 3 if they go with the manga timeline. But there's a sequel with new main character and a spin-off where arisu goes to the borderland one more time. The sequel is quite short (like 1/4 length from the first series) And the spinoff only there to promote the netflix adaptation. So i really doubt there will be any except the author gonna make an exclusive netflix story.
I really really really don’t want a season 3 (at least with Arisu and friends that made it out). The ending makes so much sense and everything is built up well to that conclusion. And all the other “possibilities” for the truth were already used in the Queen of Hearts final game. Yes there was the Joker card, but I don’t think that means “everything was a lie”. If so, I’m gonna be honest…it takes SO much away from how good this season ended up being.
if I was a writer for the show, I'd continue the thried season showing the layers of boderland, from the hospital turning into a playing field of mind games and an ominous entity, 'the joker' either tipping Arisu off or tricking him on multiple occasions, for better or worse. Since most of the characters are physically impaired now, maybe they have to wear some kind of headgear to enter boderland once again (as realistic avaters able to sense and feel) to collect pieces of some giant puzzle that is scattered around the hospital but this time they have to engage in inverse roles; like in the tag game, the main characters are the killers with animal masks etc. Season three could focus more on the characters' mental fight against Joker who attacks the psyche and renders you helplessly stuck in borderland (to play and get all the face cards again) for its own capricious benefit and the characters slowly gain their memories back and in the end we can see the final big bad.
They all interacted in “Borderlands” even though they never had any connection in real life….then Arisu finishing the final game is what gives EVERYONE the choice to either live or die. I just don’t get how the final answer is “They all almost died….but didn’t “.
The thing with this story is that the manga ends with them going back to the real world, just like in the final episode, but there's no teaser for continuation. So if we had a 3rd season, we'd get story outisde of the intended one. It could go really well, or really bad. I'm happy with this being the end.
@@emsplushycam you can read the manga's if you like. Arisu and Usagi also gets a daughter. But there is hardly any news about this series. So the future of continuing the series is still pretty slim.
The Joker doesn't NEED to tease at anything new. As confirmed in the manga, the Joker is basically the ferry man between Life and After-life. Thus he's also the creator of the games. And a pretty cool character for the few pages he appeared. But we already have 2 more stories in this universe already. Alice in borderland retry (although it's just one game) and Alice in Borderroad. Both games basically have the same world building rules. The Joker isn't important. I think if they made a s3 they'd probably go with these 2 other stories rather than doing anything with the Joker since he's not even that important.
Well, there is a manga sequel called Retry where Arisu returns to the Borderland years later when he is married with a baby. If there is a season 3, I would think it might be based on this.
This ending was intentionally written as both the ending and not the ending. This is common practice as shows often do not know if a next season is going to be green lit/approved. All character arcs were completed, the mystery was solved, the games complete. At the same time, it was left open to continue by showing: the joker card was a missing puzzle piece, the characters forgot their experience and relationships, and the game only ended for that group but will always continue, joker could continue their game
I felt that now going back to the king of clubs game there was a lot of information leading to season 2 last episode, one quote from kyuma, when you look death in the eyes, we face true human nature and reality. After that meaning both worlds he said are real. I feel they will start to remember their memories and slowly see something off in the world and more devastating events might start happening. Like the aces are missing, Which this mean season 3 could be in the real world and all come together, aces are the highest card or lowest card, the ending is just the beginning.
Remember a joker card is a wild card, I think it’ll be a mix of all of them, wits, strength, team, and betrayal and it will be super good if it can replace memories like the queen of hearts
the part when Usagi tells Arisu that they might have met before like one or two years ago, i think she said that because she previously asked Arisu if he was trying to seduce her, and he the asked if it was okey to seduce her or smth like that. Again, i belive she said she met him years ago to just follow his way of "seduccion".
@@pure_RAGE YES SORRY, I had them in Spanish so the words could get a little messed when understanding the conversation. The captions said seduce and that's why I said that. But it's the same thing so you get the idea lol ☠️
@@blackflame9791 yeah i get it, im sorry if i seemed harsh btw also seducing and flirting are sort of the same thing but on different levels in the english language
Really was surprised by myself, not being a fan of action&horror-movies but, do love psychological clever scripts and these episodes were amazing. Stunning to see all the well known Japanese cast in such different roles to play, doing a great job! The moral is really refreshing and a harsh truth; knowing so many youngsters growing up with gaming (with high scale reality visualizations), without noticing what they are actually doing?!..by not realizing there are people suffering in real life fighting for death or alive!? Well to me the end of season 2 was not satisfying; because the scene/story at the hospital was simply too short to feel at ease in safety and comfort, after so many cruelty and tricks..even as a watcher you are getting suspicious..specially after the mind-set trick by the Queen of hearts who assumes it all happened in the fantasy mind of Arisu; being psychotic & feeling guilty after his lost of best friends in a traffic accident..what did sound and felt as a good explanation and ending?! Next to it all..there are some card-games missing out; like the face-cards Jack and the Aces. So if you consider this together with the information all said by the Queen of hearts in answer-options to the question of Arisu ''will there be a return to our world to go back to after these games?''..first is given the option about a nuclear apocalyps that whiped out all lifes in the first episode chapter"s reality life Arisu wish to return to; assuming this game world is 100 years ahead in future..second you find all the possibilities for a third season to use..like nano technology/time-travel/virtual reality/AI androids&avatars/simulated bodies/loosing memories with transplanting memories&thoughts/dopamine to survive..and I not even read the manga yet ;)
I think the joker card is supposed to mean that the hardest game is continuing your life and moving on.I could be corny and say like “This is the real game” but idk.
I would like a continuing/expanding of the story, with like a final game against the joker, the psycho and the business man. The manga goes in the spin-off with him going there another time, would be cool to connect that in this sense !
Maybe a movie to wrap up the Joker storyline but another season with all new games would feel like starting over and I don’t know how I feel about that.
Joker card maybe was good idea. Gives them opportunities for season 3 can take in any directions. Hope show has the good ratings. Would like to see season 3.
I honestly wouldn't want another season. The ending was pretty good and I think adding another season would rather hurt the show. Before I watched the last episode I thought they in some type of VR so I believed what Mira said and the twist was crazy. Anyway I feel like season 1 was way better because in season 2 they stretched a lot of scenes way to much. All in all it is stil a show worth watching 100%.
A Joker card symbolizes chaos, unpredictability, and a wild card in games. It represents duality-being both a trickster and a wise fool-and can indicate new beginnings or unexpected events.
I thought it would be in season 2 but heard Arisu or someone mention zombies. So I assume that when dealing with Joker they will encounter the dead somewhere close to the River Styx or the Japanese version of it. It’s going to be good!
There could be a season 3 because there were never any Ace games. They could do Ace games then have the Joker(s) come out at the end with one being life and the other being strategy for running the games. It could also end with season 2. I am okay with it either way ...
okay but if it was all happening while they were in between life and death why did Arisu appear in the bar when he came back? Logically he should have woken up in a hospital or where the meteor dropped and not in the bar before the accident, I don't buy it that they just went back to normal reality
I interpreted that part as a sort of *limbo vision* just like in Avengers:Infinity War after Thanos did the Snap. He gets to talk with Kusabe and Chota one last time before waking up in real life. The part where the meteor crashed is just a part that explains to audience what really happened.
In the end Joker is shown. Joker is the last card of the playing card so games are over and it symbolizes the most challenging game - Real Life. Mira also told Arisu that "life is like the game and enjoy it". And they are living real life now. So I don't think there will be a 3rd season. Even if it's 100 seasons, it will be watched with pleasure, but in terms of meaning it is completed therefore it is right to leave it at this point... We will miss this awesome series and characters😮💨 "Game Ovaaa" as Mira announced in her sweet voice 😍
I think the show is not over yet (though it really depends on renewing for a 3rd season or not) because: 1. If the borderlands was just because they all almost died, having exactly the same injuries back in the real world is just too much of a coincidence. True, Arisu may have seen everyone before "dying" but how did he know every single injury so he can reproduce them in the borderlands? 2. At the beginning of the series there were fireworks, it was changed in this season to show a meteorite but we saw how easily reality can be manipulated as shown by the queen of hearts. 3. If we consider the borderlands was real, there is no way the joker will not participate, specially with that ending. My theory is that the joker is pranking our protagonists into having them think they're back in their world, everything seems to good to be true, with most of them surviving after very serious injuries and specially with Kuina's dad showing up at the hospital... I think they will slowly start remembering and realising that it was all real and that the games are not over yet, there is one final game. Another theory is that the game is just that, a game and everyone who dies goes back to the real world. But they already teased that in the last episode with the virtual reality "fake?" explanation.
there will be no S3 because the conclusion in the manga aligns with the ending of the netflix version. although they could make a 2nd series or a movie based on the sequel "alice in border road" or the "alice in borderland: retry". the author also didn't make another after the "retry" manga
I really hope there would be no 3rd Season because that will only cheapen the entire thing in the eye. The whole series was a masterpiece. It ended in a great note despite what turned out to be more of a supernatural conclusion than a crazy sci-fi twist that most of us were expecting. There were so many takeaways from this series that we can apply into our lives.
There SHOULDN'T BE Season 3. The main manga, that this show is based on, ends the story here. But IF they will make a Season 3, I think, that it will be 1 of the 3 options that I am going to list now.... just a warning, possible spoilers ahead. 1) Alice in Borderland - Retry This is basically a 12 chapters long continuation of the main story. Arisu, now 26 years old (If I remember correctly) is married to Usagi. Usagi is in hospital because their baby is going to be born soon. Arisu is on his way to her, but he is caught in another accident and is forced to play another game (9 of ❤) with new people. He suddenly remembers that he experienced something like this before and he must survive again. Read the story for yourself if you want to. 2) Alice on Border Road This is another manga from the same author. It's hard to go to detailes without heavy spoilers, but basically 12 people are transported in Borderlands. There are no games, but each person gets his/her specific face card and they must figure out what to do. There is a whole new cast of people, so no Arisu etc... but even if it's faint, there IS a connection between Alice in Borderland and Alice on Border Road (and no, it's not just the cards and Borderlands... but read it for yourself if you want to know more) 3) Original story I don't think that's going to happen, but it is still a possibility. The adaptation was fairly closely following the source material, but there were some changes... for example the very first game of season 1 was different, the Queen of Spades game is original, the games that we only got glimpses of, like that dodgeball or what it was and that thing with ropes.... that also was not in the manga. Than the King of Spades game was changed (the rules were the same in the manga but the story of this game is different) and a character was missing there. And finally Chishiya wasn't present in the Jack of Hearths game... So there is a possibility for and original story... but I doubt that. I think that if anything, Season 3 will be option 1) or 2)
Everyone is talking about the joker card but i think we need a third Season to close some intrigue like the one with banda and the suit Guy like they was incredible and i would like to see their development to conquer this Borderlands country and i think it could also make a good entrance for the joker card being the two that want to being the leaders
Loved both seasons. Season two was fire and probably better than the first. As much as I’d love a season three, and the main complaint I have is the fact that the friendships between all the characters is now completely forgotten. The joker card could just mean that as it has no suit or number and is unpredictable so is life. The way season two wrapped it up with the joker card it could just mean that as it is unpredictable so is life and since all of the main characters and archer girl survived the in between they now go all their separate ways and will have their own up and downs in life as life is unpredictable.
@@BrainPilot but yeah a season three would be awesome and the writers did a brilliant job with season two like I said which some could argue is better than season one, maybe they could pull something off and make a third season which is like or on a higher level as season two was. We can only wait now since it was only released on the 22nd of December and it’s only been like five days. In a months time or so whatever the time period is we will hopefully see. But so glad it is getting the hype and recognition it deserves. First season deserved better but the overhyped squid game kind of put a shadow over it.
Are we really doing this. I loved both and both are very different and take different approaches. What I will say is that I cried and felt more attached and had more emotion and cared more for the characters in Alice in Borderland than in Squid Game. Only time I really cried or felt anything was Ji Yeong and her sacrifice.
@@ineedue yeah. But I’d say Alice in Borderland is superior. The whole connections you/ well I made for the characters such as Ann, Kuina Arisu and the archer girl were a lot stronger than those of Squid Game. I’m also a little not quite upset but that the first season of Alice in Borderland was looked over a lot because of the over hyped Squid Game. AiB deserved more hype but now the second season has come out with squid game pulling up the rear it should get a lot more attention.
I don't think the producers would of shot that final scene like they did, if there wasn't going to be a season 3. As soon as we seen that joker card we all got that feeling that it wasn't actually the end. Netflix knows it would leave disappointment for a lot of people who love the series. Just hope the writers are creative enough to continue it on in a good way 🙏
the reason season 2 took 2years was because of covid, so imo if we get a 3rd season it will be in 2023 not 2024 but thats a big IF since the manga didnt continue much either. but i do hope for another season even if its with other people i think the show has a lot of potential.
"too much to cover"?... There is nothing to cover, the manga ends here just as the show does. In the manga the "joker" is implied to be the ultimate ruler of the borderland but its kept vague and the series just ends.
@@cmsgjoker7576 Yeah I have read that, but I don't really understand why it exists, also why do they only play one game this time? Didn't make sense. But it was good read.
it would be cool to have another season focusing on new characters stuck in borderland because of a different disaster and seeing previous players be the citizens!
I think the Jokers ( it'll be revealed that there are two of them) are trying to get the people back to the borderlands. They'll try to drive the returnees crazy with illusions, but when the returnees clue in to what's happening, they'll have to use their wits to see through the trickery and it ends with the offer to reign in hell or serve in heaven (i.e. be game masters in the borderland or return to a mundane existence) I dont think they'll have a new batch of characters as half the appeal of the show was the mystery about what the borderlands was. Following newbies trying to figure out what's going on would be boring.
We also haven't seen a single Ace card in Alice in Borderland, I predict we would be able to see the face cards that we have not seen in season 2 and the ace cards
Personally, I don't really want a season 3. This story has basically come full circle. They've answered most questions and concluded most story arcs. What I would like to see is a spin-off with more stories taking place in alternative borderlands.
Series end perfectly, the joker card was there to let the viewer an open answer what the game was all about. The game might just be a joke to all player, if they can survive the game, they will be award to live in reality that they should have been dead cause of the meteor, this is fair and square if something that decides whether if you can survive the catatrophy, you cant save everyone, but you can survive to go back to life. That is what the series trying to tell us about, cherish life we have and fight for it no matter what your reason is. The Joker is just an entity, who represent the entire game field, there is no game that you can play with joker card actually, he just a manipulation of life and death, he is the Charon that let players decide their fate, randomly, willingly, will to survive, and with the odd to win the game. After the game is beaten, I think Joker let Arisu has a chance to meet his friends at the heaven and have thier last conversation. In Alice in Wonderland, if I remember correctly, in the end, Alice has a will to come back to her reality to live in it, escaping her madness In Alice in Boderland, he has a will to survive, fight back the death and come back to reality, to live again. The series has more symbolism about life and how much we value life in the boder line between life and death.
