Merle Patterson definitely not as much power (voice wise) as the man himself but the kids great doesn’t seem to have the star power though just my opinion
i think if i was jerry or mike i would have freaking whiplash...i always love to see layne "headbang" for lack of a better word,,,with his side to side motion specially when he was rocking those dreads!!! r.i.p. my sweet beautiful layne thomas staley...
If a "god" is on a certain level the one Layne's on is above and beyond that. He actually existed- there's proof of it- and that proof is the very thing that made us love him so much. The songs he sang played out the path his life took from (almost) the beginning of it to the end of it. Beautiful, sweet man. I wish you could have known just how much you were loved by everyone who knew you. Maybe you wouldn't have felt so alone, then.
Absolutely fucking incredible. He knew I think that the acoustics would be amazing sat on top of that speaker for that part of the song and It was. Holy fucking shit.
He didn't miss the note on Infancy: instead of using a falsetto/whistle like on the record, he preferred full voice. It's extremely difficult to move suddenly from full voice with throat compression to a clean falsetto/whistle. But there are other live versions where he hits exactly the note of Infancy and the final note on 'Bleed' in falsetto/whistle. He was extraordinarily naturally gifted.
