Alice in Wonderland 2010 - Should NOT Be THIS GOOD!! 

They had NO BUSINESS going as hard with the Jabberwocky battle as they did

This is more like a sequel to the original story where Alice is grown up and doesn’t remember her first visit to Wonderland/Underland straight away, but I still absolutely love this adaptation and I’ve wanted Alice’s first dress since the moment I first saw it 💙

You should definitely do Alice through the Looking Glass. It’s basically part two and it explains a lot more things.

Really hoping you react to the sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass soon. It expands the universe a lot more and gives us more details about underlands past.

This will always be my favourite adaptation of Alice in wonderland, JV. Dude you gotta watch the sequel it’s not as good as this one but in my opinion is still brilliant

Outstanding! Iracibeth, the Red Queen is based on the Queen of Hearts in the first novel, and the Red Queen in the second novel. Wonderland is run by the Queen of Hearts and the King of Hearts. In the Looking Glass, the Red and White queen are two chess pieces on a chessboard. This film reminds me of Hook and The Wizard of Oz; she is it’s a grown-up travels back into my childhood, and the people in Wonderland are reflections to the people in her reality. Another mini series I highly recommend is Dorothy in the Witches of Oz; Dorothy is all grown up and only remembers her life in Oz as a dream. However, she is unaware of that the people in Oz are people she knows in her reality. 👩🏼‍🦱🎩🐇🐰🐭🐶🦋🌻⚔️♥️♟

This is an adaptation that blends both of the books: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass. The first book is Alice, down the rabbit hole, The Queen of Hearts, King of Hearts, the trial, the playing cards motif (Knight of Spades, her guardsmen are anthropomorphic cards etc.), The Dutchess and Chesire Cat, Caterpillar, the Tea Party, Hatter and Doormouse, etc. It is the second book introduces the Jabberwocky, the chessboard motif, The Red Queen (she is NOT the Queen of Hearts, they're different people) and The White Queen, as well as the Tweedles, whilst Hatter and the White Rabbit appear in a different guise, and Alice's saviour is actually The White Knight. The 1951 Alice follows more closely the actual first book, more or less without any major fault. The 1999 adaptation also focuses on the first book lore, but adds more by showing stories that were omitted from the first adaptation (Alice and the Dutchess, the Gryphon and Mock Turtle, her trouble with poetry and rote memorisation) and includes almost every poem and song written for it. This 2010 adaptation takes from both books, and allows the first book characters to appear in events of the second book, it could be loosely said that it takes place in between the first and second book, if you wanted to place it in canon lore. This movie came out as I was planning my VCE (Australian Yr11 & Yr12) projects, and I spent a year working on an AIW photography and media folio and installation, aka: hella research and love for this tale.

I wrote an entire essay saying how this movie was a sequel and not just a remake.

I was one of the people that recommended this and I am so glad you finally did it. I haven’t even watched it yet but I’m early as heck and as soon as I seen that this uploaded I stopped what I was doing just so I could watch it. I appreciate you very much for doing this video, this is one of my favorite, Disney live action movies, besides beauty and the beast which I don’t know if you’ve done a reaction to that yet or not but it’s just as good as the cartoon

Since it's completely mad to go off on a cat-bite tangent in the middle of this movie, I will do it before finishing the video. I can attest that cat saliva is toxic. I once got bitten by a cat. I made the mistake of helping a friend try to catch an injured feral cat instead of just calling Animal Control or the Rescue League. Never ever try to handle a wild/feral animal. Always call someone. Don't listen to your friends. Don't be me. Anyway, I got bitten in the hand. Nice deep fang punctures. All four. I did a lot of emergency first aid on it, called my doctor, got a referral to an emergency dept., took the bus to the hospital with my bandaged hand rapidly swelling up to the alarm of the other passengers. I walked into the emergency dept., and the admitting nurse looked me up and down, saw my hand, and said cynically, "What happened to you?" I said, "Cat bite." You'd think I'd said, "Godzilla." She was like, "Cat bite!? Oh, no! Not THAT!!" and she rushed me in, calling for a doctor, right past people with broken bones, I swear. Everyone was like "OMG CAT BITE!" All running around in a panic. I got the paperwork done in, like, seconds. I got my vitals taken faster than should be possible. My hand got both scanned and x-rayed. I got 5 pre-rabies injections in my hand, 6 in other parts of my body, appointments for the rest of the rabies series, a tetanus booster, and a week's worth of antibiotics. The doctor said my first aid job was good and the wounds were very clean. Cats are obligate predators, evolved to eat all parts of their prey. Their saliva contains bacteria that start the process of breaking down their food immediately. If it gets into your blood stream, it can cause organ and nerve damage. It can be very dangerous, especially for people with compromised immune systems who can't fight off bacterial infections. It seems the smartest thing I did on that dumbest day of my life was to let the wounds bleed profusely for a while, which flushed most of the contaminated blood out immediately, and then washed them with antiseptic for like 10 minutes. Note that cat saliva is only dangerous if (a) you are susceptible to bacterial infections or (b) it gets into your blood stream. If you're in good health, don't have that susceptibility, and don't get bitten, you can accept kitty kisses in perfect safety. As someone who has kept cats all her life (and really should have known better), I can attest to that, too. If cat saliva could seep through skin, I'd have been dead years ago. Just don't let your little fluff-nuggin drink out of your water glass.

Alice's story isn't really supposed to be about psychedelics despite pop culture making it that way. Nor is it about madness- really, only the Hatter is supposed to be mad, because of the lead poisoning involved in his career. It's just a story about a little girl finding all the constructs of the high society she was born in, and all the laws of nature, to be arbitrary and nonsensical, and in her imagination she not only satirizes society but also asks why nature can't be another way. She wonders why flowers can't talk and tell her interesting things all day, but then she realizes that just means they will be like boring adults talking about nothing and accusing her of being bad all the time. Sometimes she has to drink something to shrink only to eat something to grow again, which shows the back and forth standards of adults making it inconvenient to stay in any specific state (of politeness or maturity). And why do we celebrate the day we were born when we could just as easily celebrate any day we were not born?

Cats dont have venom. Lol. But because they always lick themselves, theyre saliva is not just their mouth, but their claws too. So its really the saliva and digestive bacteria that affects wounds.

Alice’s mental trauma forces her to find a way out of her fears. Some say it’s a psychedelic way out( I also agree). Others say it’s alices version of the afterlife after her fathers passing ( father being mad hatter since dad/ her made the story)
