It was a long journey, but I'm so happy to be a part of getting this archived and available for everyone to listen to! Glad you appreciated it! (Commenting from my alt act)
Hell yeah, thank you for this! Been looking for that tape for ages. You wouldn't happen to have a link where one could grab a higher quality transfer than what RU-vid compresses it to?
Wow, what a coincidence that this popped up. I was trying to find this version of Wish after hearing Tye talk about it being called "Wishing Well", but I wasn't able to find it based on my limited RU-vid search.
The closest we have to it s a demo of Wish recorded for Anthology that is pretty much structured the same way here (the intro just goes right in) but it's sung more in line with the Anthology version. The proper studio version of this entire EP most likely exists, but I doubt we're gonna hear it anytime soon
This is like one of 3 or 4 versions of this song (SS Recognize) I've heard. In the early days of Kazaa, Napster, et al there were a lot of underground demo versions of songs that were floating around. I think I still have an mp3 somewhere of a more polished version of this mix that sounds way better than the hyper polished album version
@@Aspen72 Unfortunately, I guess I was wrong and apparently I do not still have it. I just dug through what files and drives I have left from all my old computers and it's gone. The only possibility is that I have an old compilation CD with that version of the song on it somewhere, but I don't think I have any of those anymore. If I ever find it, I'll see if there's something I can do, but it's likely lost now :(
It was ripped from a cassette! Brand new rip! Not just something found online. We managed to get an actual copy of the EP and rip the audio from it at the best quality we possibly could. Read the description for more info.
The cassette has it listed as "Wishin' Well" on the actual cassette. And listed as "wishing" on the liner notes. So theres a discrepancy on what the song was called at this time. It wasn't called "Wish" until ANThology.
@@brycehogland550Tye briefly mentions that at the end of his video called "Wish" Bassline Breakdown where he says "The funny thing was when it was on that ($100 EP) cassette, it was called 'Wishing Well' after Terence Trent R'Arby 'Wishing Well'. ...y'know, we were kinda young and dumb and thought stuff like that was really funny to us"
