No matter the circumstances; DOOM and subroc were inseparable…One could only hope that their presences reunited in the after life.. I can already see DILLA in the mix of it all too. RHYME IN POWER DOOM
Onyx is still alive but he moved away into obscurity, you can find videos of him performing a speech for BLM, a eulogy, etc. He also attended the opening of the street ‘KMD - MF DOOM Way’. His name is Alonzo Hodge
@@ifthesewallscouldtalktheyp7692 like him enough to make him your profile pic but not enough to know they hadn’t yet announced his death this time two years ago
2nd verse is Onyx the Birthstone Kid who left the group during the making of the 2nd album; so they later removed his verse (seen here) and cut plumskinzz into 2 joints on the 2nd album when it eventually finally got released
In that same alternate universe, no rap snakes to be found, Monsanto's stranglehold on crops fails, natural beauty and nourishment is rampant, everyone OMs and open third eyes abound. Zev was too good for us. The villian deserves to be on the right side, with his son and brother. They prolly cutting one with Dilla Dawg right now.
@@Belowone The music would probably still be great, Subroc was an amazing producer, probably would have been better than DOOM if he matured. He was a good rapper too. Also, they were clearly moving towards DOOM-style music by 1993, Black Bastards sounds like an early DOOM album, Zev even talks about being a "maniacal villain" and wearing a mask on the album.
Holy fuck I haven’t listened to this in forever!!! I’m dying inside and I’m so fucking sad but so happy everyone’s listening to this at the end of 2020 fucking RIP to THE ONE AND ONLY

What happened to Onyx the Birthstone Kid? The only living member of KMD. His verse here on Plumskinz was tight and he was dope on Mr Hood too. Respect to Onyx The Birthstone Kid.
This got me through high school..hits hard knowing that DOOM passed expectantly after his bro did back in the day..both legends and their music will never die 🙏🏽
in case anybody was wondering, they sampled "Blacks and Blues" by Bobbi Humphrey....this album was one of the great lost gems of the 90s....i had to pay an arm to get a copy
for all the confused folks - this is the 12" version that came out when onyx (verse 2) was still in the group. by the time they made Black Bastards he wasn't in the group anymore, and they opted to split this track into 2 skits ("Loose Hoe God & Cupid" and "Oh No I Don't Believe It), each with a verse from Zev and Sub respectively. to the poster - where is that article from in the video pic?
I think that was Vibe’s review for Black Bastards. They pretty much trash it, more or less missing the point that Zev and Sub were trying to make. Lots of “This isn’t Mr Hood! They’re trying to be hard!” kinda complaints from what I remember.
RIP Daniel Dumile aka MF DOOM aka ZEV LOVE X (1/09/1971 to 10/31/2020) @/therealhiphop @/restinpower #KMD #ThankYou RIP Dingilizwe Dumile aka DJ SUBROC (8/03/1973 to 4/23/1993)
Wow I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I've been looking for and wanting to hear the complete version of this joint for a long long time. Shame very few even know this album existed... But major props, thanks a lot! Even though it's incredibly rare doesn't mean it can't be shared.
“Plumskinzz (Oh No I Don’t Believe It!)” Ross: When I heard that, I knew those guys were onto something. Although I thought the first version that was on the album was better.
Absolute materpiece in my opinion. I love how MF.Doom inherit the smooth rhythm in his Jazzy beats. I really want contemporary rappers and beatmakers to make more Jazz rap! It's very cool and I love it.
