After escaping the medbay Ripley makes it to the next area... the morgue, what better place to go to escape a monster? I discover the hard way that even if you think you are safe you really are not.
The Alien has a wide realistic view as anyone with functioning eyes. If i walked in, Id see you too. Angles do count in this game. If your under a table, it must be adjacent to the aliens path on the narrow side. Not broad side from across the room. The AI is alittle more realistic in this game than others.
In the comics it goes into more detail on how they hunt. The main thing that stuck out is that they have latent minor psychic powers that they use to convince their prey that they're perfect beings that should be protected (and worthy of self-sacrificing one's self to. Also, their psychic abilities are used to increase the fear response, and it's the fear that they can smell. They've used their psychic abilities (namely, a queen) to slowly create a Human cult that then attacked the containment facility and released the xenomorphs onto, if I'm not mistaken, Earth (that city eventually being nuked, which is where Ripley crash landed into in.... Alien4, I think it was). I'm not sure why the Synthetics behaved the way they did, thinking it was a perfect being, too, though. Never got an answer about that from any of the comics I'd read. Basically, with the Xenomorph, if you're not afraid then you're careless and it finds you, and you die. If you are afraid then it smells you and finds you, and you die. It's just an unpleasant predator to face off against.
@@notyou2353 what if you’re not afraid and smart enough to hide from the xenomorph? I can think of some pretty badass situations, like either having a stare down with a xenomorph or just hiding under a desk with no fear.
In such a situation, the Xenomorph would be at a sight disadvantage since part of it's senses rely on hunting down fear. They invoke fear, though, through latent psychic abilities (as well as a worshipful death cult following to help spring a jail break if a queen is left on a populated planet too long, as was shown in one of the comics).
"Who maintains this station? Everything is broken or missing!". The story of Sevastopol itself is the answer. It was falling into disrepair long before it was being decommissioned due to financial issues from a variety of factors. By the time you board, the station had already been pretty much abandoned, but Seegson kept its androids online to maintain critical parts of the stations functions.
MasterOfMelons eh my ADD is pretty mild so, it doesn't really bother me too much. It only really bothers me if I have to really focus... it makes me distracted... -_-
You can never outrun the alien! Finished the game and tried Crew expendable! Every time I ran, he would be just behind me! Word of caution, if you are of the faint of heart, don't not play this game, meaning if you suffer from a heart condition, more often than so your always on edge in this game
If you play the right way you can outrun the alien. The main way is shooting the alien with the shotgun to stun it and then run and crouch in between rooms so the alien doesn't follow you all the way. Look up on RU-vid: how to outrun the alien. It's interesting.
Tip - if you are in a vent and see the alien at the entrance, back up and don't wait, for him to hover around, go back the other way, he will always come for you if you wait
Jesus dude that Darth Vader nooo scared my ass. I've beaten this game and in this part if you don't hurry or make too much noise the alien eventually shows up in that area
@Little Six Has The Drip, but also the Xenomorph basis it’s hunt off of sound, and sense getting to the locker would require a fair bit of sound to get to, it allows it to know his immediate location.
This area was the first time i saw any game play. My brother was showing off that there was no vent access right by that save where you come in and hit the roof with the maintenance jack. All we heard was so *THUNK THUNKS* as the alien stormed his way angrily through the vents and ran across the room. I laughed so hard and bought the game the same week. It was as if it was angry at his audacity, and it is still one of my favorite memories of this game lol.
Just finished this game over the weekend (Hard mode all the way!), and I'm enjoying watching your play-through. I get all tense when you chose to hide in places that I know are bad spots (under the desk at the end...kept thinking "go to the bed!"). The problem I had was that I refused to use inventory unless absolutely necessary. I never once threw a flashbang through the entire game. I conserved tons of ammo and flamer fuel (got to mission 18 with 500 fuel). By about halfway through the game I could never pick up any crafting items because I was always full (never even depleted my first flashlight battery). Maybe I'll try the newer Nightmare mode.
Same. Currently in the hive on my first playthrough and just casually spamming bombs and flamethrower fuel because I've had to leave so much stuff behind in most areas. Definitely glad I'm playing on hard; us hoarders quickly learn how to get around with no items.
That’s friggin insane! I did easy because I’ve never played before. I didn’t use a bomb or EMP till the fight with all the androids when we had to follow Samuel. But I did end up using the flame thrower because I have no patience and didn’t want to wait twenty hours for it to decide to go back into the vent, but it’s an awesome game. I’ll have to try it on hard once I complete it.
I too thought the alien had no way in. Cue me running around no Fs given not even noticing when he jumped down behind me. Scariest fucking moment when I turned around and saw him running full blast at me from the other end.
I know this comment is from 3 years ago, but when i played I used a locker maybe twice? They just seemed like a hella bad idea. Especially knowing now what I know about the ai.
Not gunna lie I swear I missed the cones on my first time here. So when he says "cones warn of danger" I was genuinely impressed by the amount of observation.
My recommended brought me to part two of this series, and now I’m insanely interested in alien isolation. Even though I hate scary games. And scary movies, and shit like that but I love your captions n stuff man.
Your videos have inspired me to get the game and play. Awesome content. For some reason YT recommended Part 4 to start with and I got to Part 12 before realizing.
The first room is one of them strange places. I've gone there and been as quiet as a mouse yet the alien kept popping in and out and wandering everywhere (much dying)and I've gone there did what needed to be done and got out safe and sound. I died in that exit vent where you said safe, LOL. In the future hardened class 4 quarantine locations and hard and fast quarantine procedures for people with strange, never before seen alien life forms attached to their faces, are just a suggestion, if even that, not a requirement.
With so many places to hide, including a small cabinet he is directly staring at and its handle glows indicating that it can be used for hiding or just duck a bit to the corner while hiding under the desk out of sight of the door, but no, he stays DIRECTLY in view of the effing door and always keeps the damn tracker on...The freaking Alien IS attracted to the sound of the stupid tracker!!! Smh
I prefer desks to lockers. Much greater visibility and I hate having to turn my back, even for a second to open a locker. Desks are fine as long as you're careful how you use them.
Rô Gaia CR Really? His videos are funny to watch, but overall he doesn’t make good choices. You need to watch some of the speed runs on nightmare/hard difficulty.
I only found this video for the first time and I played the game like 2 months ago and started on nightmare mode, it sucked a lot but this video really made me laugh
Desks are perfectely safe... in easy mode. But if you decide to go forward and play the hard mode... you better think again. Me? I prefer to hide under beds as long as the Xeno is not closing in from the side.
did you hear him say " uhhhh hi? " and then it shows the scene "Vlad never knocks" plus since his characters the female daughter of the original ripley i think i sense some perverted sh*t going on
I just now realized I haven’t played this game in years and it feels like it has been just months. I didn’t even get to finish it on the 360, now I can try to finish it on the Xbox One.
