Guys, go out there and support this game. I honestly think that CA and SEGA took a big step into making a licensed game that is worth your time and money and I think they did a pretty great job.
Craig Roddy I'd give it a 7 + Great gameplay + Beautiful attention to detail + Well acted with great music - Shit ending - Repetitive after a while (ie hide in lockers)
Alien: Isolation is phenomenal. My palms were literally sweating and my heart was pounding everytime the tracker beeped whenever the Xenomorph was close. Oh, and the part where you have to venture into the nest near the reactor made me sleep with the light on for a week.
The xenomorph is so dumb, ive literally hid in a locker and the xenomoroh entersbthe room, sniffs around the room then leaves then does it again. What happened to the alien being able to learn how you play, you can easily exploit the alien
Great game...I got too scared while playing it though and had to turn it off lol. I am 31 and have two kids...but this game reduced me to a whimpering child.
the first time i died i jumped, screamed and exited the game there and then, not had the courage to reload it yet, i too am 31 and i work in a job where i'm required to be quite hard in the face of adversity, i still shit my knickers :/
PAWN_BECAME A_KING I'm also alone 95% of the time on my job, I also work at night. I recently finished the game, "only" took 28 hours! Man was it a journey, damn scary too but it's seriously the best game since I can't remember(better than Outlast imo). Personal achievements: First playthrough on Hard difficulty, Always play in the dark(Both outdoors and inside), Always have the volume cranked to max(15" subwoofer).
I am 39 and thought this Game was Good scary as hell ! Can anybody Tell me why the Alien doesnt attack the Androids, " the working Joes " in the Game ? I know their Not Human like the Main Protagonist " Ellen Ripley " but still. ! Also here is a spoiler , dont read this if you havent Played it yet , are still playing the Game or whatever ! At the end where all These Aliens are next to you when you ignite this so called Thing , they can breath in this outer Space atmosphere and your in a fuckIng Space suit , thats in my Opinion a Little Bit unrealistisch , does anybody agree with me on that ? 9/10 i definitly give this Game , doesnt deserve a 5,6 or 7 but Hey everybody has a different Opinion to this Game !
Thomas Hanel From what I could tell, the androids were receiving a directive from APOLLO (programming by Weyland-Yutani) to keep the Alien alive regardless of human loss (not unlike MOTHER and Ash from the movie). If the Alien knew or how it knew...Who knows? I'm also in my 30s and was petrified of this game as I experienced it. Full volume, surround sound, dark room...I physically hurt myself on many occasions (bit my lip and drew blood) due to the trepidation!! I loved it.
For the canonical version of this dlc you need to actually play as Dallas. Towards the middle of the film Dallas does exactly what the game makes you do but instead he dies in the vents instead at 12:00 then it leads to the rest of them trying to escape. This DLC is actually what would've happened if Dallas made it through the vents. He would've been ambushed and screwed over by Ash. Awesome DLC
Barricade2091 Dallas didn't die in the vents he got captured by the Alien and got strapped up to the wall down below the ship where Ripley found him and told Ripley to kill him.
He was f****d regardless... And as deeply disturbing as It sounds, possibly In the most literal of sense. He was partway through the egg morphing process, the bizarre reproduction alternative used by Xenomorphs when no queen is present.
BIGWORM 510 Yo, I know right. c: Yeah, regardless. It shows in the movie in the deleted scene that he was captured and was to be used for Alien purposes but he told Ripley to kill him. Damn that's gotta suck tho. Being impregnated by one of those spider looking things.
@@beastmotoz In the game, ripley always screams and just continues on as if nothing happened.. Its definitely better not to scream for no reason if your trying to be silent
Platinumed this on PC and PS4, and the Switch release has brought me back. Now I'm watching 5 year old videos on Crew Expendable. They really nailed the ducts sequence, even down to Lambert's rising panic, though it'd have been nice to hear her really start to freak out. Fantastic game. Absolutely deserves a sequel.
True, but to be honest, I don't care. Veronica Cartwrights voice changed extremely, but I really like to have an older original voice, than a younger new one.
Just completed this after finishing the main game. Awesome! Its rare a movie tie-in game gets it this spot on in recapturing what made the film so good. The DLC with the original cast was a nice touch. I think Crew Expendable is actually based on a sequence from the film where Parker sees the alien near the airlock and attempts to trap it there. Only some reaction shots of Lambert and Ripley were ever filmed. It would have taken place after Dallas gets captured but before Ash attacks Ripley. Might still be in the novelization.
It is in the novel. If I remember right, they almost caught it in the airlock but the Alien's arm got stuck in the dorm and was torn off which promptly grew back.
YayDude123 The Xeno never came towards him though. Lambert told him to go one direction after she told him that the Xeno was close, but she accidentally told him to go in the same direction that the Xeno was coming from. Aka, Lambert got Dallas killed.
@@ShadowFox746 Did she? I thought she said "move get out of there" and he climbed down the ladder instead of climbing up (which was the way that he had arrived in)
Now we need a game expansion using the A L I E N to kill all the crew, and re-create Scott's original ending with the creature murdering Ripley in the escape pod, and contacting earth.
If that's the case, then why are they even playing? They're either little kids or they never seen or even heard of the Alien franchise before now. Or both.
Jonathan Hirst Because they've played games involving the Xenomorph and seen the Alien films except for the very first one as well as the horrible AvP franchise.
Apparently he would have reprized his role, but due to a conflict in schedule, he had to turn it down, but did allow them to use his likeness. I'm not sure what it was that caused the conflict in schedule. The only things I've seen him in recently were his cameos as older Bilbo in The Hobbit.
ebiljebus That's my guess. He looked VERY weary and old in the Hobbit--and, yeah, almost senile. It made me sad actually. He would sound far too old doing Ash's voice now, I think.
Few things 1. At the vent part I just quickly go and don't even care about anything because I tried to flamethrower it but I got killed. 2. I always hide and not to use much fuel when closing down the vents
Man this game keeps you on edge, been playing it here and there since I picked it up today... only game to ever make me nervous, and get my palms sweating lol.. you make it look so easy. .. I think it totally made up for colonial marines. .although I do like multiplayer, they tried this theory on the raven level in the sewers when you have to creep but the graphics and gameplay of isolation kills it...
I admire it's purity. My white hot hatred of Ashe kept me from noticing till now...but that sentence suggests Ashe actuelly...regretted...What he was doing. Odd. Though it also raises a point. It only survived by the direct intervention of another sentient being. How can you call something you had to SAVE "perfect"?
+HotaruZoku He was a purely logical android. He simply couldn't understand why it was logical to side by a species he saw as inferior compared to the Xenomorph.
Ok, that was the end. When mine ended I had a error code, so I thought the game messed up (it did) but I thought there was more. So good to know I got it all. Great game!
2:15 It's bad enough that there is a Xenomorph hunting the crawlspaces of the Nostromo, but now the crew has to deal with a damn Poltergeist??? This is too much, Parker & Brett's family had better get the full shares they asked for, or the Weyland Yutani Union strikes.
Just a small thing. But why are there cards and poker chips on the dining table in the mess hall!? does that mean that Ripley and gang were playing cards after Kane died a brutally horrific death?!
Such a great game. I've been a gamer for 25+ years and this game is in my top 5. Right up there with fallout 3, Red Dead, FF7. I'm truly disappointed with IGNs review. I've been a long time follower of IGN but lately they've been too much of a bias fanboys over blockbuster titles that aren't even that great. This is a great game and will be worth every penny you spent. Don't listen to these big name companies bad reviews
i love this game its very good. i myself dont get scared easily but ill give the game this it is stress inducing. cant tell you how many times i screamed out in rage when the alien killed me and i had to redo progress at parts or when it magically finds me when im hiding in a locker and when i try to keep the door shut it gets in regardless. now if they could remake colonial marines to be much like this then im set.
Jesus fucking wept . This game took me hours to Finnish , maybe 40 hours . I've never really been afraid of games or movies tbh but this ....... Holy shit. Even the dog fucks off when it hears the ps4 turn on . We need a predator game now
Anyone else think that they all sound older than they look, though of course they would since they are all 35 years older than they were when the movie was being made.
grarghov1 yes, but the penumbra games are little known compared to amnesia. boarderlining cult classic. the innovations of panumbra werent really noticed. but once amnesia came along, its argueably more well known for it. untill amnesia came along, survival horror was about having huge guns and shooting waves of baddies. like dead space and what the later resident evil games became. without not just the influence of amnesia, but the popularity of amnesia, we probably wuolnt have games like slender, alien isolation, or evil within. the popularity of amnesia basically reminded people of what the word "survival" meens in survival horror.
The penumbra series were some of the best games I've ever played, they were actually quite scary as well! Would totally recommend them to people who like survival horror games :)
cbradley1391 I don’t think Amnesia influenced the games development cycle. Sure they are comparable, but Alien already had its concrete idea of being chased around by one big monster in space, which the movie itself dates back to 1979. I won’t deny your possibility that Amnesia could’ve had an influence, but Alien Isolation feels like it already knew what it was doing beforehand from the movie alone.
That's a fuckup. Brett's body proper was never found in the movie (because he was supposed to be turned into an egg) they could at least have let just traces to hint that he died around there, seeing a body kinda ruins it.
Legoman200reviews It was actually included in the Directors cut of Alien, where Ripley takes a slight detour and discovers that the alien is supposedly turning the bodies of the dead into eggs. It was originally just a deleted scene.
Legoman200reviews Depends on the perspective...it's an actual scene that was shot, but you never see or hear tell of it again. It was intended to be apart of the life cycle of the alien...apparently the alien was nearing the end of it's lifespan (a very short life cycle for the xeno) and in order to further the species, it needed to create eggs. Eggs which happened to be made from humans such as Brett. It's a shame it never took off, it's a very creepy idea that they never expanded on. Instead we got the "Ant Hive" mentality from the second film, where a queen lays the eggs instead. Props to Cameron, but relating aliens to bugs (ants, bees etc) almost ruined the series. For me, anyways. So to answer the question more objectively...then no, I guess you can't consider it canon. But it damn well should be.
This is the top for every big fan of Alien original movie. But it was too short, I mean $4 dollars for this DLC? You can buy a whole indie game for less money.
Pretty good job? The did a Wonderful job!!!!!! They made it amazingly real. And I'll take ash's quote for CA, I admire their purity for the franchise. The adrenaline keeps pumping and makes u beg for more, even tho ur scared out of ur wits. *winks* =0D
I 'like' how they pretend its the first time they playing it...(also in other walkthroughs). And way too much using of the flamethrower before the vents scene.
Can you someone please tell me how I play Crew Expendable? I have the Nostromo Edition, but i never pre-ordered it. I just bought it normally on amazon. Crew Expendable never shows up on my menu. Why? Was I suppose to pre-order it? Am I shit out of luck? Can someone please explain how I can play Crew Expendable?
This game is comical on anything other than nightmare. The guy totally got got?? But he didn’t get got?? The alien just hurt him a bit and he used a med kit lmao
Why would anyone designed a ship with such horrible interior illumination. Makes no damn sense. You really want people to see where they are going and what they are doing.
Haha, its great having almost all of the original cast back, but they all sound their age now, like they aged 30+ years between Brett getting taken and this DLC xD
There’s no way in hell I would go through those Air Ducts.lol It’s a good thing Ripley didn’t do it in the Movie otherwise she would’ve died instead of Dallas.
*Jolly good watch sir!* I love the concept of Alien: Isolation but I really want to be an action hero in the games I've played, thus why I enjoy watching people playing Amnesia Penumbra and the such rather than playing them myself, I'll stick to Dead Space, DooM 3, Painkiller (not very scary) and F.E.A.R. (the first 2) my first horror games were Blood and DooM freeware. *Chip chip, cheerio!*
I don't get that. You'll only play games in which you're an action hero? What kind of limiting rules are those? Even if you do watch others playing the other roles, why that limitation? Is it because it's scarier for you to be helpless?
