the alien has no route or pattern he is genuinely looking for you and the longer you stay in the same spot the higher the chance he will end up finding you as the ai is given hints to where you are periodically, he also is designed to change depending on how you play so he will ease up if your having trouble or double down if your flying through segments it's a really cool ai system

@@extrahigh The alien knows your general location so you want to move. Also there are different “segments” to the game, some are exploration, some are alien avoiding, and some are stealth/combat. Don’t sprint when ur in an alien segment. Also keep up the amazing content.

Quick tip for you my man, you're supposted to put away the radar thingy when the alien is near you, cuz he can hear the beeping sound that the device makes, thats the reason why the alien killed you while you where in the locker. Also the AI for this game is really interesting, cuz basically the alien "remember's " where you hid yourself before he killed you, so for example if you hide yourself in a specific locker and the alien kills you, the alien will be wary of that locker and will roam around it more often. Hope it helps

Watching you play has inspired me to play this game for the first time with my fiancé who just likes to watch. And let me tell you, this game scares the crap out of me man. We always play in the dark and the whole time we're playing my heart feels like it's going to blow up. That being said, you are handling this game like a champ. I've been playing just about as long as you, and I'm not that much farther ahead simply because how much it stresses me out. Next is Dead Space for sure, I never beat it as a kid because I was too scared.

You don't get things like that when you play in nightmare difficulty. The game 5 Gums its senses on lower difficulties. I tried playing in nightmare difficulty on my first run... couldn't finish the game tho that shit messes with my nerves

yea, while novice mode does mean you die less which can make the game less frustrating if you are having trouble, it also teaches some pretty bad lessons and breaks inmersion like that alien somehow not seeing him squatting in the corner.

As someone who has 100% this game you can really cheese it if you wanted to but the best way to play through it is to literally walk or crawl everywhere cause once the alien detects you it goes into hunt mode for a few minutes until it scurries back into the vents again. Also never use lockers to hide it’s better to use a table or just hide behind something and lean into the wall tbh 😂 the locker system is so buggy. Finally I wish you luck exploring the Sevastopol my friend may your Molotovs and flamethrower grant you sanction in this ship of horrors.

I love this game, I love the Alien AI, I love watching people play it. The tension is through the roof. And also - you don't need to get to the room with the board. You can go further and at some point the quest will update with next info (every quest, every time).

I don't know if you play that with that enable, but when you hide you should shut up. From what I know the Alien IA in this game can track you from your mic sound. Pretty sure i saw peaoples dying from it.

I learnt that the easiest way to know if the Alien is in a vent and left is if on the motion detector bottom left, it says 0.96 thats the maximum distance that it can go. I bet the game in two days also a way to make the Alien run away everytime when using the flamethrower is to wait for it to turn its back to you, crouch walk towards it with the flamethrower equipped, pull it out and then fire, it should put it off guard and force it to run like an animal when suprised.
