I don't understand why a recap of every movie is better than just a concentrated review of Alien, since it's the only movie that's necessary to see before Romulus. None of the other movies seem relevant- and I certainly don't think there are any links to Predator/Alien.
Which parts? That movie was all over the place. Read the behind the scenes of it all. The mushed together scripts. There's a reason it's an inconsistent mess.
Ugh. That’s depressing. _Alien_ and _Aliens_ are classics but _Prometheus_ is one of the worst science fiction movies I’ve ever seen. No way will I watch that one ever again. However, I’ll give _Romulus_ a chance and see it in a week or two.
@@takerhulk3163 Yeah! Watched it yesterday, great action-horror flick! I'm still not sure if I'm going to do Alien 3 and Resurrection or Prometheus and Covenant because.. from what I understand, everyone is mad about pretty much all of it moving forward?
I LOVE Prometheus, We can totally be friends Erik! I was so invested in the film prior to its release that I never watched a single trailer or saw any pics as not to spoil a single thing. And man it totally paid off as I was blown away!
@@G3rmanhenrywell Jesus is the Son of God, Annunaki were fallen deities/angels who rebelled. “Sons of Anak” are mentioned in the Old Testament- The Book of Numbers, basically saying the Annunaki were worshipped as false gods
@@Nutterbutter123 I know that, was just mentioning it because in the video they left the Jesus part out. Also obviously every book of religion writes whatever fits their narrative because in the Bible all of the annunaki parts were just replaced by Satan/serpent
I loved how Prometheus focused on the engineers cause that’s like my favorite part but I also wasn’t that satisfied with the answers we got about them.
Prometheus was a great movie, it just wasn't what people were expecting. I think everyone expected all the questions of the xenomorphs would be answered and it left everyone with more questions.
I really appreciate Prometheus and Covenant because they are just movies in the world of Aliens. I would love to see more of these. The world is just rich with storytelling.
I never understood Weylands Yutani's obsession with experimenting with these things. They have literally cost them a trillion dollars in destroyed bases, ships and lives.. at what point do the corporate pencil pushers just force them to stop? I mean the cost benefit analysis must have come in by now. They'd be lucky to break even at this point
The US national debt is 35 trillion. Apple is worth over 3 trillion. When your corporation spans planets, a trillion dollars is pocket change. But the value of human life: Did you know there is currently a genocide taking place in Africa right now? Can you name it? Do you even care past this sentence?
@@JTSculptsyeah. But people also misunderstand the rotten tomato score which is why user scores are different. 80% rotten tomatoes for a sci fi horror is pretty great.
I remember watching prometheus for the first time. Not knowing what it was about, thinking it was another good looking sci-fi movie, thought I'd check it out. Went to theaters and that final scene, I tell yah. I had No idea up to that point it was a Prequel! Was a Big Holy Sh*t moment! Ever since I try to go into movies with little knowledge cause that feeling was a really awesome feeling. Hope to see a follow up video now that Romulus is out, loved the movie btw, big recommend if you're a fan of the Alien franchise!
I wish they would of kept the Jesus, Buddha, Krishna and Allah deity subplots From what I read the majority of the followers of each religion had no issues In the X-Men comics Jesus Christ is a mutant that basically has same the powers as he does in the Bible I know many Christians who think that is awesome
Did anybody notice in Prometheus . when they were trying to stop the engineer from coming back to earth did anybody notice how primitive our technology is compared to theirs. when they rammed the ship the Prometheus crumbled apart like it was paper . But the engineers ship was still in tack not even a scratch, I thought that was amazing.
And the Shaw Hybrid kept evolving into different sea life and amphibian life which has happen on earth with evolution I also liked the hints that both evolution and the creation fables are from the same source
What's effed up about the original trilogy was IRL its 13 years for the trilogy, almost 60 years in the movie's universe timeline and yet it's been only 3 weeks or so for Ripley. You could call it Three Bad Mondays.
Me and my pops are stoked for this movie. I'm gonna catch it tomorrow =) I grew up with these movies, lol I have great memories of my pops watching Alien 3 on cable HBO and me sneaking to the dining room area to catch glimps of it 😅
Respectfully, Dave Franco was onset, but they put his scenes into a short film that was released as a promotional video but it’s in the extras menu. There are several short films included as bonus content for both Prometheus and covenant that are very good.
I've been watching Alien movies since I was a kid, and even though I'm genuinely confused half the time on what's going on, I always enjoy the ride. lol
What about the connection to the world of Blade Runner & the Weyland Yutani corporation? The synths from that world are prototypes of the androids in Alien & Aliens.
Just watched Romulus. Good film! Love all the classic props in the movie, giving you flashbacks to the original alien movie. Definitely got me interested again in the alien franchise
In that same Ted talk he mentions Tyrell and the dude in a pyramid that lives a city of angels.. Blade Runner is connected to the Alien verse which makes a lot sense
I do appreciate the marketing behind Prometheus and all that extra/bonus content that was on RU-vid or websites before the film came out , I feel like movies don’t do that anymore lol
I’ve never watched an Alien movie before because I’m a chicken when it comes to horror movies but Romulus looked so good from the trailer I want to face that fear 😅 so thank you NR for the up to date recap I actually appreciate it 🙏🏻
With hindsight, the original Alien, Aliens and Prometheus are the essential viewing. Definitely recommend a play through of Alien Isolation; one because it’s awesome, and this movie definitely has a similar vibe along with an Easter egg or two
Fede Alvarez has stated that he played Alien Isolation and was what motivated him to make Romulus He took to his twitter to reveal some set design details, revealing individual tech that can be seen in Alien, Alien Isolation, and Aliens He also reveals the full miniature colony ship in Romulus, called the Corbelan IV, and credits VFX supervisor Ian Hunter, known for Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Inception, and more As a fan, I have full faith in Fede Alvarez and what he can do - and seeing him praise Alien Isolation for how it influenced the movie, (which is my #1 fav game) I cannot wait to see Romulus
Safe to say, it won’t be long into the film that you start seeing the resemblance with the game which is an absolute treat. It also makes sense, given it’s only 5 years between Romulus and Alien Isolation. I’ve never seen an Alien film fresh in cinema, and I avoided all trailers for Romulus - the film was incredible
19:01 I like the fact that it may not be canon to the alien movies but it is definitely canon to the predator movies just based off of items shown in the predator as well as some of the things mentioned
Thank you for this! This was so informative and makes me want to get into the franchise a bit more. I loved Prometheus and Covenant, so I’m definitely gonna have to watch the rest.
You don’t need to watch all the Alien movies, but you need to watch all the movies in the franchise, play the game, read the books, turn off the iron and also get an Alien tattoo before seeing Romulus.
My friend invited me to watch romulus with him today. So i dont have the time to watch the other movies before hand. So I decided to watch this instead 👍
