Thing is...at first the alien commander was afraid to attack Earth. Then.. when he did attack..his attitude was arrogant and dismissive. What changed? Another thing... Humans used antimatter warhead in their first counterattack... Then the alien commander was surprised later when humans used them again

Great story. I think if humanity ever got passed our own selfish squabbles and united, continuously developed ever greater military capability. With 8 billion people, over 10 billion predicted by 2040. It would not be unimaginable if the world ended up with one united military with 1 billion soldiers, hundreds of thousands of planes (or futuristic jets of some sort) tanks, other military vehicles, and millions of missles. We would certainly be a force against our enemies

These stories are basically fan service with a ludicrous amount of plot armour. The alien struck every strategic target, yet they left the fucking Pentagon untouched. That's just sheer stupidity.

From Fort Brigg to the Rockies is more than a few hours drive. Some of these stories are completely stupid.
