The self awareness of adding the Frankenstein clip is brilliant.

This sounds cool, but it is kind of a pity that you still need to select your default citizens from amongst the existing factions, rather than using the AI's design for those too. Maybe if the game is successful, there could be a DLC that expands AlienGPT's capabilities, somewhere down the road.

I'm pleased to hear that is was trained entirely using in-house art. Much respect for that.

This is an amazing new feature. I've always loved making custom empires, and I've struggled with not being able find a portrait that fits what I have in mind. Plus, I love how this use of GPT AI doesnt infringe on any intellectual property outside of Stardock's assets! I think this has sold me the game :D

problem is, ALienGPT generates portrait of leader but no citizen portrait which represent die citizens. in that sense its quite limited.

This is actually a really good use of AI for 4x games!

I don't play this game (don't have time) but this AlienGPT is really cool and innovative way to generate random factions very quickly for players

Amazing work, I'm excited to play! I think you're among the first to do something that tons of titles will be doing a few years from now. It's like giving players an infinite species pack DLC. My only caution, as I'm sure you've considered, is that there's no such thing as a free lunch with this technology. You'll save time not having to develop new civs & lore, but you'll need to have spent (and continue to spend) a ton of time on testing and prompt engineering. Your prompts & logic you're feeding to AlienGPT under the hood will need to be pristine to deliver a good and consistent experience, and the only way you'll achieve that is by using AlienGPT a TON in internal testing and devoting a lot of resources to adjusting it and making new options based on user feedback. For example, the two text blurbs for the Sea Slugs starts almost exactly the same way, which feels derivative. Feedback aside, I think you're doing amazing, and I loved the earlier Gal Civs which I played in high school, and I'll definitely pick this game up.

It looks all great but don't fit my monitor it is restrict to a certain resolution...please fix it so i can play the game? Until now i'm playing the 3 and i'm found it to be great.

Now what you need to do is install a Small LLM (I know, sounds contrary) into the game, for Non-Campaign-Campaign creation, side story creation, Real randomality anomalous-ity in the infinite of a universe. Might not apply to this game, yay, but in a game neh? I want to do it, but I've gots to go to school first. Reminder that ChatGPT and basically every other commercial AI is trained on content that the creators of were neither asked the consent of of paid for the use of their work. Until these facts are addressed, use of AI in this manner is more than a little unethical.

I always believed that AI itself was going to be the future for these types of games, I know people bitch and moan about "muh artists" (because clearly I was going to spend $250 on a pic of a zombie gorilla trump eating a cheese burger), but for personal game use? the creation of assets in an instant that allows for actual dynamic gameplay will be so fucking cool 💀

I don't believe you can achieve such results with only your own in house artwork. It took millions of images being processed by an AI to reach this level of accuracy, and this is supposed to run only on stardocks 80s retro aliens artstyle? Naaah.
