The recent Sims 4 updated added a new scenario, all parents are stolen by aliens and the teen and kid have to try and save them! ➤ Visit my website for my Twitter, Twitch, other channels and more! My Website: jamesturner.yt
Judging from the tasks it sounds like parents ran away and used aliens as an excuse lol. Parents: were not coming back until you get a job, raise your skills, and have As! ....because Aliens.
@@LivinInSim Who are sipping fruity “juice” drinks with umbrellas and snickering at the doorbell cam feed from time to time while exchanging winks and saying “Aliens!”😆
Okay, but I really want to see you try the full scenario as intended where your teen has to balance school and work and the kids are trying to make/save money. Just build the house you want before starting the scenario instead of bulldozing it. Or - hard mode - start the scenario on an empty lot.
Hard mode: start out on an empty lot and then immediately adopt a stray pet you have to feed lol. And force him to choose a Social aspiration (which, well, without a home is easier anyway) for both Sims, but they can live in any world (since Strangerville in story mode is slightly annoying if you don't intend to play through the story.) That said, we know using the school makes things easier but going there doesn't allow your Sim to up their grades, so one day going to school and one day going alone works out.
I did it with money cheat too, because i bought an empty lot and needed to put a house from gallery on it. I DID have the teenager actually work as a Barista though, and its still not that hard to meet all the goals and keep up with needs. Took me a week and 2 days. Itd prolly be pretty difficult for someone new to the sims though, especially without any cheats.
I tried to do this scenario and failed so miserably - their grandma got stolen by the aliens but she died before they could complete the scenario and then the older teen died
I need to start a new save with this scenario. It’s so….weird. And intriguing. Edit: Also, I think it’s about aliens stealing both parents, but I’m kinda tempted to use the Goth family with this scenario, in honor of Sims 2 lore.
Lol clearly the scenario is a nod to that by the picture. I thought about doing it too, but i decided to start with a fresh fam on undeveloped property. I played with the goths too much already.
@@gamelifeusa it is in the first page menu about this new scenario's ad or suggestion with the pic of cassandra and alexander goth in it 🤣 they totally approve the theory
Guh, like what's the big deal, Dad? We totally saved you a room and everything, what's your problem? Sure, we had to sell your bed and stuff so we could use the room for our school projects, but c'mon! It's not like you were using it right then! I mean, we totally saved you from aliens and everything! Jeez, PARENTS! 😄
Carl's Guide says this about Study Spot: "Contrary to what this trait says, it's actually a 20% boost to all skills which is hardly "slight". Sims will complete homework 40% faster across all classes, term paper and presentation quality increases faster too!"
Since you are using packs (tiny home) you can form a club with just the two kids and get a lot of club points from sleeping, homework, all the stuff they have to do. Then you can just set club vibe to "inspired" and you don't have to worry about cloud gazing and thoughtful showers.
Every time James said, "I'm doing this to save dad!" it made me think of the movie trope where a sensitive little kid obsessively draws creepy pictures to cope with paranormal trauma... lol
To my knowledge (and through play testing it myself) I’ve found that the study spot lot trait ISNT just for university as most would think. It actually does impact the grades of younger teen and child sims as well! It’s a beast paired with child’s play and peace and quite. If you need your sims to get better grades fast!
Just finished this scenario... it needs some character drama. The kids should be sad or afraid (or extra happy depending on their personality) to have their parents go missing. Also, having them be relieved/happy (or upset depending on personality) to happy their parents back would be nice. So far sims have more emotions toward their pets than each other. And, since were doing fears now..having the parents (and maybe the kids too) be afraid of aliens or alien abduction afterward would be good character development i think.
Instead, the kid just kept getting scared of the dark, and my teen got a call from his mom who apparently used her one phone call from alien jail to ask him if she should have a baby. 🤣
YES. There were moments when my game glitched and the mom showed up on the lot. I really wanted the kids to have a happy “Mommy, we missed you!” tearful reunion, but they acted as if everything were normal. They didn’t even get sad when she disappeared again.
I was trying to do this scenario and couldn't find a family house the family I created could afford, so I moved then to a empty lot to get a house from the gallery. And boom, all money went away and the adults too, so I had one teenager and a child living on a plot of grass with 500 bucks lol
I did this on accident because I wanted to build a house from scratch on an empty lot. When I saw we only had $500 with no house I was filled with regret 😂
Head's up! Emotional decor DOES stack. If you had added another lamp (or an inspiring piece of decor), he could have gone from "Inspired" to "Very Inspired".
I was shocked that you actually gave them a proper home to live in, I’m so used to your sims living in a cheap bed under a free roof 😆 This was a fun scenario, I think I’ll give it a go today as well!
If you had used the homey lot trait instead of child's play the teen would have quickly leveled up in cooking and the child would have stayed inspired longer🤷🏾♀️
I'm surprised you didn't use the Goth family for this scenario - it's literally their family history. You would get to re-enact Bella's famous disappearance from Sims 2 - and they're exactly the right ages to play it out too: The teen (Cassandra) having to raise the younger sibling (Alexander) after their parents get abducted by aliens. Perfect!
James is the reason why I enjoy playing rags to riches using his rules. I learn to get resourceful rather use cheats all the time like I did before. And Deli inspired me to make better houses.
Sims scenarios: Here are some neat ideas to freshen up your gameplay! You can use the scenario requirements and milestones to build a - slowly unfolding - new story and... Sims RU-vidrs: I'm gonna cheat the system to get this over with as fast as humanly possible
Their other needs stayed relatively high, maybe buying the Sleep Potion for 400 points sometimes too, in lieu of the Moodlet Solver? Definitely love the tiny home! Fits the world nicely, too!
To have a kid draw pictures while inspired, make the kid start drawing, then click on the kid and select "encourage". This will ensure the child gets and remains inspired until they're done with the picture.
Suggestion: maybe these scenarios can be played with unplayed members of the Bigwallet family so there’s some story progression to them! (Like Biscuit or Blueberry etc.)
I used a pre-existing EA family, and found out after selecting them that the teen and child were both F grade students, so they not only had to do their homework each night but also makeup work and the teen had to also study for exams and work Fri thru Sun as a lifeguard. I actually got the child up to an A level and just shy of achieving his Aspiration goals before the teen aged up. The teen worked, helped the child, did all the homework, aced the tests and never rose above F level. She wasn't able to attend any HS functions, and aged up on a Saturday. The game made her a HS dropout. She sold half the items in the house to meet the ransom and the parents were returned even though she never got above an F grade. It's a totally glitched scenario.
Chef's kitchen is a good Lot Trait to have because you can get a free Inspired moodlet when starting a cooking activity (or quick meal). You can then cancel the interaction and keep the moodlet.
If the teens can use the Realm Of Magic cauldron it would also probably help. You could have a vat of mac and cheese and if they're capable of learning the needs potion as well.. infinite needs.
This was very fun, but at the same time, I'd love to have seen this done seriously as a rags-to-riches miniseries, done between your game pack and expansion pack LPs. Just fun, challenging little series to inspire you and your viewers.
It’s crazy cause the younger one had to basically do most of the work to save his dad. Meanwhile the teenager is just like “ya… I sold the house, then got another one, got a job for 2 seconds and quit, hired and nanny then fired them immediately, made brownies which my little bro helped me with…. and got good grades. I saved dad” 😂 The younger one literally CARRIED this challenge 😂
OMG just seeing James sprinkling "basil" on special brownies 😉😉😉 I was thinking maybe mint leaves 😂😂 but the teen makings special brownies while dad's gone seems better haha
Its kind of silly that you can just achieve the goal by deleting the house and its contents. Not your problem at all for "outsmarting" the sims team...just seems like an oversight. The same with getting a job and then immediately quitting. It should be like get a part time job and level up or something.
Only in James' LPs would the kid draw a Batuu picture voluntarily LOL. Rainbow over the head just means you have the "good schools" lot trait. Also, you should have the teen brother help the younger brother with projects, homework, and leveling skills. Makes things go more efficiently 😁Also the different school products increase different skills. So you can buy them in BB and have him do them any time to build those skills.
I think this scenario could easily have been 2 tiered. The first tier is all these same goals but instead of the scenario being complete it would take you to tier 2. Now that you have stabilized your life and are good with grades it is time to save your parents! Then there would be 6 new goals like discover an alien sim, befriend them, convince alien sim to return parents, etc. It would have been perfect! i hope Maxis adds 2 tier scenarios in the future! :D
When I did the scenario the kid and teen started school with an F. How did the Semaj kids start with Cs? Also, the Mom kept calling her daughter asking if she and her husband should try for a baby (like they were just on another lot or something) . Lol. Edit: I just made another save only this time creating a truly (new) family without using anything from my library and it gave them Cs. Interesting...
Someone else said that, too. They used a pre-existing EA family, maybe that's why. James would have made all these Sims. Hilarious about her calling. "OK, I'm going to try for the baby. Don't be surprised if they're an Alien..."
@@LivinInSim I made the sims too, but when I went to place them, I realized I was putting them in my build save file and I didn't want that so I exited out, did it again for a new save file and just downloaded the family from where it saved on the gallery? Or something? I don't know. Clearly I did something differently. Lol.
The scenarios should have prizes as an incentive. Like you should unlock an item. Or a wallpaper. Or something. Like furniture. Even clothes. Something. I think it would be super cool. Like if that was the ONLY way to get that item. Like debug or showhiddenobjects or showliveeditobjects or ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement wouldn’t work to get them. I think that would be a really cool way to improve the scenarios.
I did the sibling scenario and while it was fun, it was bugging so badly on my teen. Even with a maxed out cooking skill, liking cooking and having the trait, she literally set everythinh on fire until the day she aged. And then she died because the hot headed (i think) trait glitched out and it said she was fine instead of very angry 😒 anyway. This scenario seems like fun!
I love these Scenarios Play Throughs. Yassssssss 💚 I love the chaos and I love the drama. James always makes the most out of a bad sims situation hehehe ☺️
This looks like a fun starter scene for a new game. On a side note, I would really love to see you play Two Point Campus with a goal of getting ALL 3 stars before you move on to the next campus... Perhaps we would even give you 1 star as a pass if you get in a bind, but only 1 and it must be done before completing the game. Sound fun? I think so...
I always get the trash knocked over and now isn't fixable glitch, I lock up my trash cans like Fort Knox. Strangers wander into my Sims' nurseries whenever they feel like it, go ahead, steal my baby, I wasn't using it, but they'd need a prison break sequence to kick over their trash.😆
Me, when looking at the thumbnail: the characters somewhat remind me of LIS2 🤔 Scenario description: a teen needs to take care of their younger siblings.... Well, this is about to be a fun one, guys.
I just started this challenge and then see the video with James take. Yay! I realize again I have no imagination with the Sims...lol I learn so much watching his gameplays! Love it! I won't be leveling the house or completely in 4 days, but will be less now for sure.. I always forget about the lot traits, inspired paintings, mood lights, etc.....lol
I am glad we got a video on this new scenario super fast but I would have loved to see this played normally (with a house and no money since the aliens take the wallet away as well) instead of a speed run, this just felt like running through a to do list 😆
i watched simsies vid about the patch notes and stuff that was coming out in CAS. and she mentioned the scenario and that she was going to do a video on it. and i thought the concept was so cool i instantly thought this would be the thing that piqued james’ interest too and knew it would be the next vid he made lol
This was actually way too easy - I'd like to see you do this challenge as rags to riches, actually do the part time job, without the tiny home extras and also without any (positive) lot traits. To make it even harder - don't use any mood enhancing decor. Now THAT would be a challenge 😂
I've never done an actual Sims 4 Scenario (mostly because I make my own up all the time), so I thought I'd live one through you vicariously. It's so silly that aliens want your kids to get good grades, but whatEVER. It's hilarious you chose Strangerville for your setting then totally ignored the possessed Welcome Wagon. The house IS very cute by the way, for being so cheap and just functional. So how do you know about the Good Schools lot trait, but NOT know it causes the rainbow over your kids' heads when they're doing well? That cracked me up. Did sending Wade outside REALLY help get rid of the excess Playful moodlets? I mean, it's caused by a LOT trait, not an INDOORS trait. So I think just doing all the other inspiration actions overcame it, but whatever. You still got the scenario done really quickly. Good job! 😄
