The mouse is great , I've had and still have most of the top mice but this one is solid ! Little tip I use was to remove the skates off the mouse and buy a set of hyper glides for the g305 mouse , put 1 in each corner , do that and it becomes 10/10
yea the mouse is amazing without a doubt...hes just making up ridiculous reasons...just from looking at his mousepad its a piece of sh*t....battery life of the mouse is actually much more than DELL advertised which he didnt even mention...most of mice today can only dream about those 400 hours battery life this one has...I have it since release and its amazing...
Same here man, 2 of the things he said were not even true. 1 the software is actually pretty good in my opinion and 2 the mouse glides perfectly on my mouse pad. The only this is the price, but its alienware, what do you expect?
@@jacesample6381 lmao none of these are even that bad, I have the 510M which is the wired version... I think it's a good price honestly, and for what you get it's a really attractive and sturdy mouse, and anyways Alienware software is passable... Not great, not that bad
Yeah really not sure about this review or some of the comments talking from my own experience. The mouse glides across my timber desk, paper pad and mouse mat. The Alienware Command Centre software automatically detected the mouse however I did have similar issues with detection when installing my Alienware monitor. The mouse is light and has a great form in my opinion and I have had no issues with battery usage. I think this review should be titled 'One Macro reason not to buy this mouse' - if it's sole use is for gaming.
After one year, the left mouse button switch is broken - keeps double clicking. Software kept interfering with the ASUS power control software and also stopped the laptop turning off the screen or sleeping. I uninstalled the software and just the windows driver. I may even dismantle it to try and fix/replace the switch. There was also a problem with the latest firmware that messed with the battery level displayed, so looked like it was never charged (see forums)
I dont agree with that. I bought mine 2 years ago with my friend and bought it for like 70$ in czech rep. Rn it sells for 80$ and you can buy it from not so popular shops in czech for like 60-70$. This mouse is heavier but for such a battery life i dont mind. I didnt have any problem with software but its maybe coz i dont use macros. I use macro only for moving stuff to stash in Escape from tarkov and it works perfectly (simple macro). Looks nice, feels nice and the sensor is very, very good. I Had SteelSeries Sensei 310 and Fnatic Flick 2 (both pretty good) but i wanted to try wireless. I am currently playing only FPS games like Apex Legends (max rank Master S11) and Valorant (Diamond) CS:GO (GE, faceit lvl 8-9 moving like a f-in noob i am) and i didnt have any problems. I am in love with this mouse but i am willing to try another one. I can only recommend this product. My 2nd friend bought it like 6 months ago (he is left handed / dont recommend for left handed players coz of buttons but he likes it / i dont understand it but he does like it so good for him) and says the same. He loves it. for 99$ sure you can pick another good product but for me the style, build quality, RGB, battery life is worth that money. I appreciate your opinion, but I definitely think that these are not exactly the reasons that should have an impact on driving people away from buying this product. Just an opinion on the pads you say are holding you back (mouse slides or whataver they are called). I find this mouse slides very smooth and i use Logitech G840 XL for it. Sry for my english. Im no native speaker and i tried my best. Wish you all good gaming!!
The main issue with this mouse is the double-click problem they all have after 18 months or so. It starts to register double-clicks instead of single ones and it's not firmware/software related. It's a design issue and one needs a replacement to get rid of it. A shame for a supposedly high-end mouse. Other than that it is beautiful, feels great and it's super precise.
That's interesting, I've had mine for about 2 years now and have never had this issue, even after dropping it multiple times... Maybe that's why I don't have this defect 😂
I've had it since I purchased my erea 51m.... I love it. It's an easy to use mouse, unlike some with more keys than a keyboard... I like the simplicity of it. Plus it matches my computer perfectly.
As much of a "bit" of a fan boy of Alienware, I must admit that I agree with all three reason, and then some. No.4 reason to not buy it: Battery lasts 5 seconds... figuratively. It's terrible. And yeah when assigning the side buttons to a scope or crouch, it doesn't stay on. But alas, it's my daily driver and I hate that I love it.
Hey bro i have a coupon from Dell expiring this month and I'm about to buy the headset and the mouse to match my white lunar laptotp, do you think the headset is good ? As for the mouse if its not that good will the logitech g502 is better?
@@ukt000 For me, and my hand shape, the AW mouse fits perfectly and the side buttons are at the right spot for my thumb, ergo; I still use it as a daily. But if I was a pro gamer, the G502 would be better as it has Lightspeed tech, but alas I'm a space simmer, so I don't need twitch fast KBM. The headphones work fine and are cumfy. They're 7.1 surround, but really, my ears can't tell the difference from 5.1. ED, SC and NMS sound amazing in them. That said, I've put on better headphones for the price, so I would say, they are better than above average (4 out of 5 stars). But when all said and done, as I am a slow twitch gamer (space sim, not COD, PUBG, BF5 etc), they work better than most and the all lunar white mouse, keyboard, 38in curved mon and headphones all on a white RGB desk pad look absolutely the biz when on your desk with the teal lighting going on. Is there better? Sure. Are they expensive? Hell yes. Am I a fan boy and just love the Alienware branding and aesthetics? Damn straight. ;-)
i dont have any of the issues in this video, however i do have issues nonetheless. I've bought this mouse twice because the first one just straight up stopped turning on, and the only thing consistent is how crap the scroll wheel is. Mouse randomly shutting off paired with the scroll wheel just refusing to work most of the time makes this not worth the price at ALL. This mouse is like a curse in disguise simply because of how weird the actual mouse is shaped, if you do end up sticking with this mouse its hard to get used to another one even though you despise the 610M. Def do not recommend lol
@Pulse Okay, so you hate the 610m. NOW tell us WHICH MOUSE***, or mice, you feel are a much better bang for the buck - either at the same price, higher priced, or lower priced!!
I have this mouse and ths is one of the best mouses i have ever used. I use logitech mx master 3 mouse at work, have had couple of razors and other gaming mouses. This is one of most comfortable mouse. Battery life could be better.
Been just over a year and five months of very moderate use and the double clicking has started, command centre also doesn't work properly despite showing everything being up to date. Loved the mouse until the double clicking issue which renders it unusable. :(
I purchased this mouse and in 2 years, 3 months and 24 days -- the left mouse button inadvertently likes to double click (when only single clicking) and/or not highlighting text when using the click and hold. (Suspect the copper contacts within the mouse are failing) Now that I have read most of the posts here, it appears that I'm not the only one who has experienced these issues. Dell's site says the mouse has a limited warranty of 2 years, so buyer beware.. in 2 years, you will probably be disappointed. Maybe we should be congratulating the Dell engineers for designing a mouse that will fail, right when the warranty expires?
I have no problems with the 610m it lasts as long as it says it does I sometimes use 510m cause it has more configurable buttons on it like when I'm playing Gmod other than that there both smooth and comfortable I've been using them for a couple years so far
The mouse wheel is awful as far as comfort goes. Logitech has a nice solid rubber wheel vs AW with their tire tread monstrosity that leaves a hot spot on your finger tip. I really went all in on Alienware: Laptop, Mouse, Pad, and Chair. I really hate this mouse.
I bought it for $70. My only issues is the LED lights dont turn on sometimes when using the mouse. I have to plug in back to power but its a cool looking mouse. I also wish there was a way for the led lights to stay on longer after not in use. Probably like 3 minutes after not touching
Sorry.. but I can't agree. I find the mouse to be perfect for me. Perhaps it depends on preference, how you use it, and possibly your hand size (this last one may seem silly, but my wife has small hands.. this is a big mouse, and she would not like it.. She uses a tiny travel mouse that I can't stand. One of the unexpected features are the 2 parts that extend near the base of your hand, that have the lights... Ergonomically, I find that this allows the base of the palm of my hand even more mouse control... I work online, as well as game, so I use a mouse for many hours every day, and this just makes my job easier..
This is the best-looking mouse to be honest, not to mention that Godlike 300+hrs per charge without needing e-waste disposable batteries. The side-skates also protect your palms on the surface for long gaming sessions. I think the gaming mouse-market should step up to that level first before marking it as garbage mouse lol
I just got this mouse recently from Dell. I didn’t pay $99 but I think the mouse is great and very ergonomic. The issues you state are not my experience. May be you got a defective mouse.
Mouse is great…no idea what this dude is talking about. Thing is smooth as butter. You have a trash pad obviously. He’s right about it being easy to download the software, and the software isn’t the most intuitive but once you learn it it’s not a big deal. Idk I like it.
I e had this mouse for awhile and it’s awesome. Have white one for x17 and just got dark side of the moon mouse keyboard for Aurora r15 and Alienware OLED monitor.
Did you notice that if you change the LEDs from standard blue to any other colour, they are a different colour to the Alienware laptop as the leds are so weak everything is off.
If u don't know how to program the macro doesen't mean it can't be programed. I have this mouse and i will never change. For all who is whatching this: the mouse is awesome!
the mouse isn't that scratchy also why would you have to download drivers they install automatically when you plug in the mouse. if you have command center already installed. Now yes the command center basically sucks but then again other then the case of setting up macros and or changing colors. its like an after thought the main purpose is for configuring thermal profiles and some performance settings on your alienware branded computer.
Great mouse initially. Mine is now just outside of warranty and the left mouse button is double clicking randomly. Going to strip it down as I also have to superglue the rubber mouse wheel as it's always slipping. Hopefully it's a simple fix but if not it's getting binned. Not buying another, just not worth the money. Good luck getting any feedback from Dell or the chance to write a review on their website when it fails :)
While I dont agree with the feet issue, I do agree the software and price SUCK! 8 months of use later... I found you all a 4th and 5th reason not to buy this. #4: The scroll wheel issues- I have cleaned and used dust off and still cant get it to scroll correctly. #5: The scroll issues would'nt be a big deal but I also cant figure out how to take this mouse apart to apply WD-40 to the belt thing under the wheel!
I don't use macros so don't have same issues. My only complaint is battery life but I use the usb to charge it while using it so no biggie. Other than that it's a great mouse. Oh, and the feet are fine, you need a new mouse pad or something, mine glides with ease.
“Garbage mouse”? Literally more than half your comments are positive, I’ve tied it too. Btw it’s $60, needless to say I won’t sub as you bash the mouse when so many others enjoy it. Plus your explanations were not good.
@@PulseReview you are at a girly girl sub count of 4K, so you will probably lose sleep at night now. You will not get far with this kind of attitude on top of your misinformation in your video. GL, you will need it. Bye.
I've had this mouse for almost a year now and I hate it so much. The sharp feet snag my pad and tear it up. I have little holes all in my mousepad, and it's my third one. The scroll also stops working randomly and is not as responsive as a traditional mouse. Just overall bad.
Already bought the mouse like 6 months ago lol never used a mouse for gaming before so don’t have much expectation. I would have liked more buttons on the side but beggars can’t be choosers haha
It would've been better if he didn't just take a dump on the mouse and provide a relative comparison of what he considers a "GOOD" mouse. then we would understand the use cases / motivation behind the ratings a little better and determine if our use our use cases / motivation is the same or not. This would provide the listener with a better (do i take this review with a grain of salt because this guy's biased or looking at a use case i will never see) or legit this doesn't work for me. Fair Market value for this price compared to what is out there, if looked at totally from a functionality POV then i would put this mouse at 50$. But you need to factor in the Alienware novelty (RGB, matching the systems etc...) then people will pay a premium for that. Factoring the novelty of Alienware I would price it at 69.99 but not 99.99.
Even after all the schitty reviews, my brother made me try this mouse. And guess what bought it brand new for 40,- actually pretty wel responding mouse. little heavy for wirreles mous but, do it for the gains haha. Peace !
dude bought the mouse the mouse is amazing dont know what this guy is talking about ive had 0 problems with it had no problems with programing side buttons just think this guy isn't tech savy as he thinks he is
@PulseReview I bought it today and is laggy all the time. I dont know where is the problem and lags so much. I cant use it even for surfing in the internet. I cant play games with that. Where is the problem and how can i fix it ?
Didnt even last me a year the laser sensor went out at the end of 2022 buttons still work but it can’t read movements anymore so boom this mouse is now junk it was normal use rip
I'm an Industrial Designer and I really appreciate your review because you've cemented a decision that I was making on my own for one reason alone. Regardless of what the non-designer gamers may think of this mouse, it's really hideous to look at. I didn't want to like it just because it's so poorly designed, but now, I don't feel bad that I'm not buying it. It's really ugly.
It is rare to find this mouse up for display here from where I am at but we have an “Esports Experience” store and had the opportunity to try the mouse. Obviously I wouldn’t recommend getting it, it is indeed atrocious. This might be an opinion but it is really heavy in the hands and it is too huge for my hands. Sure I may be Asian, but there are other mouses that are about the same weight while having a better feeling on hand. Yes the mouse feet is shit and the buttons are not that great either. The only good thing about the mouse is probably the design. It looks great but it’s practically bad.
I would have to disagree because in my opinion this guys complains are not a problem i have with the mouse for example the software when you learn how to use it its not a complicated software about the mousepad and being so “scratchy” first i couldn’t hear a thing when video gaming second those are the stupidest type of mouse complains i can listen to that depends on you mousepad quality or whats under the mouse and as we can see the mouse doesn’t have non friendly mousepad components under it also the mouse being to scratchy is like saying “i hate bread because its so easy to cut” and in my opinion scratch like sounds shouldn’t be a complain cause you are literally rubbing plastic into something and if you press down on it of course its going to make sounds its like saying “i hate music because its too loud” its not the musics problem its your problem cause l can adjust the volume and considering your mouse and to also hold your hand and it has no finger rests so i think his complain are his nails hitting on the mousepad and not the mouse itself about the third one the price yeah i guess that one is very true i believe they should lower it to the 40-50 mark the other 50 bucks you are spending is just the brand you are buying it from just like supreme shirts without design no special material but HEY IT SAYS SUPREME IN THE NAME just like Gucci apple etc
@@ChangesConstant i gotta say the first issue does feel subjective, more of a personal preference. he simply doesnt like how it glides. i personally dont care how my mouse glides lol. the second one is sort of mixed, i use alienware laptop and is familiar enough with the software now, but yeah it is confusing at first (had to look for tutorial just to set macro keys) and i can see some people just lost interest in it, especially with logitech and steelseries having easier softwares for their peripherals, so yeah its useful once you're used to it, but i'd say still fair to consider it a minor downside. and the third one hands down is the biggest downside. it's just damn expensive. so my take is alienware may not be the best brand when it comes to peripherals. not bad, just not the best.
@@Ray-gg3vq i agree they are not very good and making their stuff the Alienware mouse i used for a while then i left it cause i preferred the corsair dark core rgb pro cause it fits my hand perfectly software is much easier worth the money Alienware is cool but in peripherals yeah it needs to get good i prefer other brands like Logitech corsair of course and razer blade cause they are good at what they do and they know what the public wants
