I was never big fan of ultra wide monitors so I decided go for C1 48” as suppose C2 42” due to price differences. Well impressed with the picture quality especially when coming from a TN panel.

I have the lg c1 48 inch and originally I wanted the Alienware ultrawide, but I'm glad that I got the lg instead. 4k on such a large screen makes it so much easier to see details in the distance and I feel like aiming at targets in fps games are easier because of how big the enemies are. Either way tho, gaming on any of these oled screens will be a great experience!

Same wanted the LG Oled for a longtime but was lucky to snag a day one Alienware qd oled and was impressed, coming from TN and IPS screens, but when I got the the lg C2 42in I was much more impressed and immersed then the qd oled,which ain’t getting any love atm!! :)

I ordered the Alienware back in March, but my patience is wearing thin. It's supposed to come in for mid-June but I'm worried that it will be delayed until this fall because of the lockdown situation in China where parts for it are manufactured. Would it be worth it to get the 48" C1 or FO48U (same panel, but it's a Gigabyte model) over it?
@josh8oh8
@josh8oh8 2 года назад
@@pk.002 The 48 inch c1 is $999 at best buy right now and I would say that so long as you have enough room to sit at least 3-4 feet away from it when gaming, I think the C1 is the better option. If you don’t have much space or a deep desk, I’d say wait for the alienware or consider the c2 42 inch instead.

I bought the AW QDOLED last year,I wish if I had waited for 42” LG.I am used to 4K and I can easily notice QD-OLED’s lower resolution,also I really don’t like Ultrawide and despite what some people said I never got used to it.ultrawide screens are too short and letter boxed and you get much less screen real state. also the black coating Samsung used in QD-OLEDs suck,no deep blacks unless in pitch black room.the LG 42 16:9 is definitely the superior display.

LOL this is exactly what I'm trying to decide right now! So this video is good timing and much appreciated. I think I'll go with the 42" C2 and game with a custom 3840x1800 rez...waiting for the ASUS but there is radio silence and I'm concerned with the coating and no doubt it will be more expensive...the Alienware has the coating too, that's a concern for clarity, which I love with my CX. The 1440p is just a nu-uh too coming from the CX after 2 years of gaming on it. The input lag is also very impressive on the LGs, tired and tested. Yeah QD-OLED is the next best thing and will only improve as OLED has it's flaws but I know motherfuckers who never even head of OLED lol so it's not going anywhere just yet. And how good is that Pro Superlight! Coming from the G900, it feels so amazing.

think also on the warranty of Dell, if you got burning on your LG it is not even covered by LG. So, that was a huge game changer when i'd to decide, at the end i've two LG C2 at home one 48" on my room and other one on the living room 65". An the aw3423dw for PC gaming 100%, and i've to say that it is a game changer but by far for me, the HDR and the quality of the screen is just impressive. i've passed for two monitors (2k 144hz and 4k 60hz with IPS panels), and once i had the 2 LG OLED TV i said i will never go back to LCD/LED/IPS panels
@Macho_Man_Randy_Savage
@Macho_Man_Randy_Savage Год назад
@@luisinho6946 I wouldn't be too concerned with burn in, it's not even something that you see with OLED these day, you just hear of the concerns. While I'm a big fan of UW having used one for many years prior to getting the C2 as my PC display. I play a lot of games that don't support UW and I went thru hell in the past trying to get games to play nicely with 3440x1440 and 3840x1600. Plus I gamed at 4K from around 2014-2016 before going UW and it's nice to finally go back to it but at 120FPS and GPUs that can easily handle it. I can always force UW thru NVCP if I want to. True, once you see OLED+HDR you'll never wanna go back to any LCD panel again.

Does the gsync module on the alienware still work in clone mode ? You are running 10bits color vs 8bits+dithering as you are using 175hz on alienware instead of 10bits/144hz. The C2 seems seems very glossy, we can see your windows though it, which is very distractive in the video, it's ok if you play in the dark but you normally don't on a pc.

I know the LG adds no input lag so it’s close to its theoretical limit of 1/120/2 -> 4.2ms iirc testing sites said 5ms. The theoretical for 175Hz is would be 3ms. I highly doubt that monitor adds a couple of ms of processing. I don’t know who engineered the electronics on it. Could be Samsung or could be Dell. Or is it because the c2 has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 vs the Alienware only having a resolution of 3440 x 1440 which is less in the horizontal direction? I would ask you to do a UFE blur test on both of them. My favorite way to test blur is the game "The vanishing of ethan carter" because that game has so realistic vegetation that ghosting actually makes me motion sick, but you probably dont have that game. It looks like you're using higher fov in game on the 42

Both fov are the same as its a duplicate Image, probably the camera angle making it seem that way! :)

The aw3423dw looks better to me?
@rahb2096
@rahb2096 2 года назад
It has more color volume for sure but he's not wrong tvs have better sharpess and need no adjustment where as monitors have high sharpness setting and still don't look as good. Prefer the aw though myself
@gomezalejandrog
@gomezalejandrog 2 года назад
@@rahb2096 I prefer the curved ultrawide, defnitely more immersive IMO. The only thing that really bothers me about this monitor is the HDR, is it a gimmick? Is it just saturating certain colors on scenes and telling us "it looks better" or is it an actual accurate representation of correct lighting intended by the developers? HDR off with the 3423DW on Halo infinite looks so oversaturated in comparison to the 3418DW (which doesn't even have HDR, and has inferior blacks and whites) I'm thinking did they do that oversaturation on purpose? I mean the game knows if an OLED/HDR monitor is connected. I'm convinced HDR on desktop is garbage, no website utilizes it, amazon prime doesn't even use it I think. So you'd have to get this monitor really only if you're really into gaming in HDR.
@rahb2096
@rahb2096 2 года назад
@@gomezalejandrog hdr is just inconsistent and windows still sucks for hdr. It really depends on the game as hdr tends to just look washed out when done poorly. sdr might be the better option for those games. When done right hdr is amazing but sadly only really youtube videos showcase hdr in that way and a 4k blu ray/streaming . gaming really is behind. A lot of games just slap hdr on without really implementing it right

For console it's big desapoiment for Alienware 34" because no input HDMI 2.1, why Alienware, why😓😓😓😓 For console all day C2, preferable 48" you have all HDR suport in Alienware only HDR 10 without Dolby vision

Do you think it's worth to get both? I was thinking of getting a aw3423dw on the desk and a lg 48 c2 or 42 on the top of the alienware, because I need to have 2 screens
