Exactly. I have no issue with women’s football. I just don’t watch it much due to the quality issue. The same way I wouldn’t watch a League One or League Two match. Top athletes and dedication to get to those levels of course, but I just think football fans want to watch the highest quality on display

They regularly make pretty simple mistakes that boys teams outgrow around 8th or 9th grade. A lot of the strikers seemed to essentially just close their eyes and kick at goal. It seemed about as entertaining as junior varsity boys game. I agree with you no harm in making room for it but it’s a real real far cry away (again just my opinion) from being an entertaining option to watch or attend games
It's not a backward mentality if you don't like what you're watching,there's many men's leagues I wouldn't watch because of the quality/tempo/physicality of the game. Does that make me backwards too ? As they are the only reasons I don't watch women's football. It's actually something wrong with your mentality as what you're doing is trying to force it on us, by starting no theres something wrong with us for not liking it. You've also used the one sport in your example, WNBA, which doesn't generate any profit, and has never done since its conception. In fact, WNBA has to steal profits from the NBA to function. I believe it is one of the only sports in the world which has always been in loss since its creation.
I have seen good female players over the years to be honest but people don’t care as much for the female game because the overall quality is so poor. If the quality improves surely it will get more recognition.

Not all of it, you get male teams and players that are a lower class in mens football and the same goes for womens. Comparing men and women at football is different, it's about enjoying playing and not knocking others for what they enjoy doing.

I play football and I can say that a lot of boys in my school were better than my team would have ever been. But I do it for fun, yet I get comments from my peers telling me I’m bad at my sport and I should swap to ballet or smth. I understand that for a lot of people women’s football isn’t as interesting as men’s. But can we at least stop making fun of girls for playing a sport they enjoy when that sport is a dominated male sport? Same goes the other way round for dancing for example.

If more women actually showed interest in football, buy tickets, go to matches, encourage other women and girls to take up football, buy shirts actually show support in local teams, then maybe women's football would rise to the level of men's. @@kurtsudheim825 The quality of football played can be massively dictated by physicality, you literally have no idea what you're talking about, being faster and stronger makes a huge difference, being able to strike the ball harder and faster makes a huge difference, every physical aspect of the game affects the quality of football being played, it's not just about technique, it's a fast and physical game and the more athletic you are then the higher standard of football that can be played. All the best men's teams are usually filled with the quickest and strongest athletes in the game and it gives them a big advantage over others.

The point is that people don't watch those low quality men's games either, so why would we watch low quality women's games? Alisha Lehmann is the perfect example of a poor footballer that cares more about her looks and social media profile than her football career, and if you can't see that then I don't know what to say. Women's football has only just started gaining traction within the last 10 years or so, that standard will change within the next 10-20 years and will become alot better but right now it just isn't there yet.

It’s not about sexism or anything, the main reason is quality. We watch men’s football because of quality, the crosses, goal line clearances, bicycle kicks, you get the idea. You don’t find a lot of this in women’s football. I would rather watch 10 year olds play a match than women play, however I would enjoy watching women’s football if they improved the quality. Like the time when they were beaten 7-0 by a group of 15 year olds, like wth. Serious lack of quality but I can see potential if they somehow fix that but it will be hard because at the end of the day, they are women ☕️.

Sport ultimately comes down to 2 things. 1.) Sport for recreation and fun, or a hobby 2.) Sport as a career Career sport ultimately focuses on elite levels, regardless of gender or the sport, it's about being the best and about people wanting to watch the best. Men love physical contest. Men want to challenge an opponent and test their own limits Women have no interest in physical contest whatsoever. Women’s sports are only about two things: 1. Attention and validation 2. Female group activity Most women sports fall in one of these categories. You won’t find many sports with real physical contact like in men’s sports

I'm a girl and I've started training for football n honestly I do understand why people look down on us. Boys train from childhood n their core strengths are undeniably good along with their calf and hamstring muscles. It's not like women's football is bad, it used to be 1-2 decades ago but it has improved a lot. But you cannot compare it to men's football because the quality, the technique, the speed, the physicality, even the tactics are on a different level. So when people say: oh it's not that bad. That's quite honest. The reality is that any third or fourth league men's team could beat any women's team.
