Love her voice and all of the songs that she ever sang, but this one is one of the best. What an amazing lyrics and music. Such an amazing song from the 80s, our teens and young adulthood, brings back so many incredible memories and makes me so nostalgic. Get chills every time I hear this song. Amazing.
I love Alison and Dawn together here. I first discovered this song literally 30 years ago working at Macy's in Palm Beach, FL. Every time this video came on, I had to stop what I was doing and watch.
I've said it before and I will say it again. The whole vid is good but to me the best bits are seeing Alison Moyet trying to keep a straight face and just failing at it. It's watching her face go from "Keep it together, keep it together!!" to "Sod this I can't, I give up" that make me giggle It should go without being said that her singing is brilliant.
Dawn French is one of those people you laugh at before they’ve even done anything … Gene Wilder was another and of course the master , the late great Rik Mayall
This takes me back OH to be young again.. Good song remember dancing to it in London Heaven Night club. And the video is still funny after all those years..
When she said that you were through I thought that there was Nothing that I could do Just because she ran right here Doesn't mean I interfered Now I'm wondering If we can feel the same 'Cause she keeps whispering your name She keeps on whispering your name Like she's just waiting She once told me how she felt Didn't just want me To hear it from someone else There were unknowns she couldn't know But she hoped you two would grow And when you didn't She was brought to me in pain And she keeps whispering your name She keeps on whispering your name Like she's just waiting If it's just a little fling A simple thing I'll try not to pretend If it's just for jealousy She's using me That might be hard to mend Oh what else can I do But try to give her More than she got from you And when she wakes up suddenly And she says your name to me I'll just hope it's force of habit And not need 'Cause she keeps whispering your name She keeps on whispering your name Like she's just waiting Oh tell me what is fair When nothing's wrong and She just stares Like she's just waiting
First time I have heard this song. I wouldn't even have recognized her in this. I've been to many concerts, some of life long favourite bands, but it was the Alison Moyet concert that decades later still stands out as an absolute favourite. Her music is astounding. Now to go look for more stuff I've not yet heard.

Love this video and Alison Moyet is phenomenal. I think there was nod to Alison in an episode of Vicar of Dibley. Geraldine was on the radio and a fan asked for her autograph thinking she was Alison Moyet!
1994...oh those days... Ow to be young again.. Dancing to this song completely of my head. Loving every one. An in those days a E would last you all night till early mornings.. I wish i could go back for one night an re live that night.. I think we actually ended up in Brighton. We left club drive down had early morning swim.. Then stayed the night an went to the ZAP CLUB.. OH WHAT MEMORIES
Holy cow. Such a great song and what a voice . Moyet belts it out and I as a gay man fall in love with this formidable lesbian every time I listen to this track. Great art is greater than the artist that purveys it ; that's how it becomes timeless and universal .
