I’m on Alison’s side with this. Here’s a girl who spent her life working tireless nights as a cook, started from the absolute bottom and worked her way up. Then a singers wife, who was a former model not a chef, decides to make a cookbook and now has multiple financial outlets surrounding that platform. That would be difficult to watch.

Seems like Alison was taking over by jealousy for a moment and said the wrong words...anybody can open the door for you, but it’s to you to keep that door open...

I don’t think she has anything to apologize for. People are too thin-skinned, and the “cancel culture” has gotten out of hand.

The tactics definitely worked for Alison. Nobody knew her outside of a small niche group and now more people do!

I didn’t really understand the racial part of the criticism. Alison didn’t say anything about them being Asian or telling them they should be “in their lane”. It could have served as a catty comment about white competitors as well. The only thing is that two people she criticized HAPPEN to be Asian women. MAYBE she directs more ire towards Asian women, MAYBE it’s coincidence and if you talked to her on a different day she’d have a mouthful for white competitors. It was just a little catty and I think in a non-racist world we would be equally catty to all regardless of race.

I'm a huge fan of both of these ladies. This is my take, if in life you have an opportunity to do something that you love.....why wouldn't you do it??? No matter who your husband is or if you work at the NYT. Let's face it you really don't need to be a trained chef to be a fantastic cook. Look at Rachael Ray. She isn't formally trained nor does she claim to be..........is she a sellout? Or someone who had a great idea and ran with it. That's what Chrissy Tiegen is doing and so is Allison Roman. It’s actually funny to me that she compared her career with Chrissy and Marie - who are much much bigger stars than her. There is a reason they get to have their own empires. This is not the first time that Alison behaved inappropriately. I witnessed her bizarre, head-scratching behaviour while she was on her book tour. She left my best friend completely distraught and the rest of us were thinking, "What on earth just happened?". I used to be a huge Alison Roman fan, but after that book tour experience, I didn't open either of her cookbooks again. In many ways, reading what happened with Chrissy and Marie is disappointing, but not shocking.

Whatever. Chrissy’s publicists have her and John in the NYPost seveal times a week. Alison can share observations without being acussed of racism. Get over. They already have.

Clearly Chrissy has had no issue making money and being successful. I agree with Alison, but I also understand why Chrissy would feel hurt. I don't think it was necessary for Alison to speak so bluntly, but that is not something that someone should get canceled for. It's ridiculous, just breeds no one saying how they actually feel and curating statements that they don't mean. Cancel culture should be reserved for when people seriously are criminals, like Harvey Weinstein, and the power that they hold prevents them from being held accountable by our justice system, not silly comments on the internet.
