Alistair Story presented the integrated Find and Treat outreach service implemented in London. Using the example of the mobile one-stop-shop tuberculosis service, integrating all steps from diagnosis to treatment in a bus, he emphasised the importance of using a syndemic approach, by outreaching to people in vulnerable situations, e.g. people who experience homelessness, people who use drugs or people with migration experience. He pointed out the increasing potential of point of care diagnostics on the street, mobile case management and the use of mobile internet technologies. Furthermore, the involvement and participation of people with lived experience is of the utmost importance, at all steps of the care cascade.
The Robert Koch Colloquium is an annual interdisciplinary lecture series, each year focusing on one specific innovative public health topic, such as Burden of Disease (2019), Public Health Surveillance (2021), Climate Change and Public Health (2022), and Social Inequities in Health (2023).
