This bridging topic combined the diverse connotations of the complex topic of "mobility". Johanna Hanefeld spoke about people, pathogens, knowledge and public health institutes and their journey in a globalized world with view to RKI activities. This included critical perspectives on the origins and contextual applicability of global health policies and categories. She emphasized that "international health protection is national health protection" which indicates that promoting health on an international scale directly contributes to the health of populations on a national level as well as local communities.
The Robert Koch Colloquium is an annual interdisciplinary lecture series, each year focusing on one specific innovative public health topic, such as Burden of Disease (2019), Public Health Surveillance (2021), Climate Change and Public Health (2022), and Social Inequities in Health (2023).
