She indeed got flexibility on both legs, but she did the first two split jumps with different legs not to showcase flexibility, but she had to do split (sissone) with her "bad leg" in order to connect it to side somi, otherwise she has to do the side somi with her bad leg/right leg (if she did sissone with her left leg then she would land on her left leg as well and she would have to do sissone with her other leg/right leg/bad leg) which is harder.
pappysprite Even when she had the terrible knee injury in 2011, she went home with 4 medals, 1 gold in her first OG. Now, despite her countless injuries and growth problems throughout the past years, when the entire Russian team can only depend on her, she went home from her second Olympics with a gold, silver, and bronze medal. Such an amazing gymnast
Considering 2/3 Rio beam routines ended up being a disaster and Aliya is flirting with retirement, I'm so glad she pulled out this win so we have one great 2016 beam routine to look back on. :)
I really want her to go til 2020. Even take time off and come back in 2018. Id just love her to come back and do everything - the amanar, double lay out...
Paige Charlotte That would be great but I don know if her body permits that. At least she could return as a specialist with a huge UB set and a DTY with almost 10 in execution, I think she's very capable of doing that.
and a few months later, she fell on her beam acro series at the AA in Rio. This routine could have given her a beam medal at the olympics. I could never understand Aliya and her relationship with that beam!
I think every gymnast on the planet has had a love- hate relationship with the balance beam. Even the Olympic champions, world champions like her have had falls. Goes with the territory of something that is only four inches wide with no margin for error.
Me encanta esta rutina. Me encanta Aliya, hace parecer que todo es muy simple! Tiene una elegancia que ya quisieran las estadounidenses! La mejor 👏👏! Love you, Aliya!
Well really komova should've beat Douglas in 2012, it just happened that day Douglas has the more stable routines, I think it would've been a lot more interesting of kaitlyn ohasi had still been around to rival biles, knowing she was beating her in 2013 it would've been a real throwback to shawn and nastia but oh well we'll see if komomova makes a shock comeback last minuet .
+ThePaveleck nope. Simone made mistakes at trials and was still 2 points ahead of Laurie who was at second place. Unless Simone gets injured or something then yeah but I hope that doesn't happen.
+ThePaveleck I would say no because the difficulty is just not there. Biles has very high D scores on beam, floor, and vault. She also has 6+ D score for bars. She is very clean on all her events as well.
