ALKALINE | SLEEP TOKEN | FIRST TIME REACTION 

Please go on the journey and listen to their entire discography. By far the best band I’ve ever listened to and probably always will be.

Sleep Token is an anonymous masked band and the man sitting in the chair is the singer, Vessel. The lore behind the band is that he was visited by, and enticed to worship, an ancient deity called Sleep. But beneath the surface there are glimpses into Vessel's real life. With some of the lyrics suggesting an unhealthy relationship with a former girlfriend, among other things. They've released three albums so far. A trilogy, so it's all a narrative of sorts. 'Alkaline' seems more in keeping with the Sleep lore. I would suggest watching the video for 'The Love You Want' which has a bit of a narrative and matches the lyrics of the song more closely.

Yall definitely jumped into the middle of the movie. Their whole discography (2 EPs & 3 albums) tell a complete story. Do yourselves a favor, take the time to listen from the very beginning and go all the way through it. Every song is incredible. They don’t hold to any particular genre either. It’s metal, it’s pop, it’s r&b, it’s electronic. It’s just a vibe. You’re at the edge of a masterful rabbit hole. Dive in and worship.

Sleeptoken has no joke saved my life. There music is like nothing I have ever heard before and I am always looking for videos to watch of people who have never heard them before so thanks for the reaction!

Also don’t get caught up in the music videos as much and just listen and try to understand the lyrics. Vessel is a lyrical genius and cuts deep into the soul.

Suggestions for listening to Sleep Token songs for the first time. 1. Skip the official video versions and opt for lyric videos. His lyrical skill are on par with his singing skills. There are a few exceptions like Blood Sport (From the Room Below) and The Way That You Were. 2. Don't expect them to conform to genres. The genre of music they fall in to is called Sleep Token. They dont sound like anyone else and almost all of their songs are different from one another. 3. Their albums tell a story and the deeper you go down this rabbit hole the more interesting this band gets. Drink deep from their cup and you will only crave more. These guys have replaced all other bands for me. Every song they have is amazing. Have fun ladies! ❤

I love first time reactions of Sleep Token cause the Interpretations of their music is so fresh😁. When reactors get into ST that journey comes into the light more and more. There should be a ST guide to first time reactions and where to start. I’m here for it though!

What if... by being"caught up in her design", he is has become so powerful that he is a threat to the powers that be. Therefore, they attempt to stop him. But he is too powerful and she WILL be his.

They focus on music, and the visuals and music videos are just there. I wouldn’t pay any attention to the video. Just disregard the video lol. The meaning in the song is in the lyrics. You should listen to some of their other songs for sure. Give, jaws, Atlantic, dark signs, sugar, blood sport, ascensionism (my fav track of theirs), granite, aqua regia. They have MANY more but those are some standouts.

If y’all want spicy sad boi metal you should take the deep dive on these guys. Sugar and The Summoning are two songs of particular note.

The visuals in the video are less literal and more metaphorical when it comes to the story telling, this video is more meant to convey his heart andd mind than literally display what the song is about, it makes u think.

Be careful. It's very very easy to get sucked into the Sleep Token rabbit hole. For which there is no return. But the journey is worth it.

I think you'd prefer the video (and song) for the love you want, then you should really watch the fall for me vid which hits the feels

Don't get caught up with the video meanings; mostly, they're purposefully done so you can focus on the music. If you decide to go deeper into Sleep Token, you won't be disappointed.

This is probably the most misaligned reaction to a Sleep Token song I've ever encountered. The three ladies do not even remotely look like they'd be long-time fans of this particular band or the style of music, but I give you all MASSIVE KUDOS for diving in head first. The lady in the middle (and I'm sorry, but you didn't introduce yourselves to new audiences here) seemed to be the most perceptive about the existence of the relationship and how addictive it is. Of course, the actual back story of the band/entity would never be something that anyone would just imagine. But that was extremely perceptive of you. Then the song came out with the lyric "Either way I'm into it" This is exactly the middle of the "movie" as you put it. It is the 7th song on the second of a three-album trilogy. The first album is called Sundowning. This album is called This Place With Become Your Tomb, and the final album was released just last year called Take Me Back To Eden. Vessel, the masked singer with no public identity dreamt of a goddess called Sleep. The songs are all worship tokens to show his love for her. It goes way deeper than that of course, but that's the seriously basic premise so that at least you'll understand the band name. As far as pinning down their musical style, there's really nothing else like them. They do R & B, rap, funk, pop, alternative, metal, industrial metal, and even a cappella. I would imagine that you won't get into all of their songs, but seriously you have to listen to whole albums because that is a whole different experience than just picking and choosing a song. Hope that some of this helps.
