I was in my late teens/early 20’s, living in the NW suburbs of Chicago when Alkaline first started out. It was one of the best times for punk/indie, and one of best places to live. So many good shows... Alkaline has been my favorite band for almost 20 years, and the heartskull logo was the first of many tattoos that I got over10 years ago. This is exactly why they’ll always be my fave, this new album sounds incredible and I can’t wait to see them in August.

Wow well this is awesome. Sounds like a mix between Dan's solo stuff, Good Mourning and a bit of classic Skiba. I like the multiple directions the song takes.

For a band with two incredible singers, I'm still amazed how infrequently they split vocal duties in the same song. This is a great song on its own, but having Matt on the backing vocal really works for it.

When all the instruments come in, you can shut your eyes and just think about what you're listening to and it could easily be a cleaned up, higher quality recording of something from goddamnit, and I fucking love it

I can't seem to wrap my head around the comparisons between ALK3 and blink (two totally different worlds)? People do realize Matt Skiba was just doing his job right? He is still a paid professional musician regardless of his current affiliations. Dude is a hard working man, this is obviously his first love when it comes to his musical aspirations. Chill out on the "this is better than that", and just enjoy his talent.

The riffing is so damn old school Alkaline Trio. I never thought in a million years I'd get this return to form. Still my favorite band, 15 years later.

Love the way "every time my boat's about tits up" sort of harkens back to Fine's "if I'm the captain of this boat then all my shipmates are fools" lyric. Dan songs bring all the feels.

While I agree it's great to hear Matt skiba back with alkaline let's just take a moment to remember Dan andriano is also an absolute badass
