At 2:48 , he says that since an sp2 carbon is more electronegative than an sp3 , having more no of substitutions by electron donating alkyl groups would stabilise it, but wouldn't giving electrons to a more electronegative atom destabilise it? Because there's more charge.. Can someone explain that please, thanks.
Electronegativity is the tendency to attract electrons towards itself. I think you confused it with electron-rich. Giving electrons to an electronegative atom stabilises it.
