In my opinion dead man’s pier is this years wicked growth. Just a amazing house with very little flaws. I also really liked bugs eaten alive even though I hate bugs with a burning passion.
I think maybe Descendants of Destruction and Sweet revenge should have been swapped. I loved Sweet revenges concept and hope they get a house telling their story or maybe a walk through of the Major Sweets Factory like we got with Leave it to Cleaver or Clowns 3d ft. Slash.
@@C0ZMIK5K1TTL35 I think that would’ve been great. However sweet revenge is kinda hard to transfer into house form because there’s so many characters. And the theme by be off a little"
I would say: 1. Dead Man's Pier (best theme) 2. Bugs (1950s camp) 3. Universal Monsters (classic) 4. Chupacabra (good setting/props) 5. Halloween (been done) 6. Blumhouse (only good if you know the movies) 7. The Weekend (wtf?) 8. Desend Destruct (lame) 9. Spirits (lame story, should have been vampires, not witches. Who else would bottle human blood?) 10. Hellblock (waste of space) apparently an IP house fell through and this house was thrown together very last minute reusing old props and costumes from previous houses.
My List: 1. Dead Man’s Pier 2. Halloween 3. Fiesta de Chupacabras 4. Descendants of Destruction 5. The Weeknd 6. Universal Monsters: Legends Collide 7. Horrors of Blumhouse 8. Hellblock Horrors 9. Bugs Eaten Alive 10. Spirits of the Coven
My top 3 are Dead Man's Pier, Descendants of Destruction, and UCM Legends Collide. I feel like my top 3 encompasses an A/B Venn Diagram. "A" being Dead Man's Pier for stunning sets and storyline but not tons of scares, "B" being UCM Legends Collide for intense scares but not super impressive sets, and then the "AB" being a moderate blend of both where there are good sets and good scares but not as good as A and B respectively. Spirits of the Coven is getting dragged and for good reason. The concept isn't bad but the house is way too long with not enough scares. The house, by design, will never be phenomenal no matter how much effort the actors put in.
I agree with Spirits. We had a great run the first walkthrough, getting tons of scares, but none really after that initial go. Great storyline, though. Dead Man's Pier is one of the most impressive houses I've ever seen, but I didn't get any scares in our 5 runs, and I'm the type that will scream at an attendant lol.
so, how do they queue lip sync with the speaker dialogue. Is there an activation button? I have been watching why there's always a hand placed on the sets. Are they just that in-sync
i was not going to lie I was a little disappointed with this years Halloween horror nights they could had done better out of the ten houses two of them was amazing .
The Weeknd house is the best house this year, and it isn't close. Have gone every night, have seen multiple other vloggers/writers say the same, and heard the same from countless others in and out of the parks.
It’s a great house visually and the music works, but it’s not scary and if you’re half paying attention you can spot where all the jumps are coming from. If it wasn’t for better runs for the 2nd and 3rd place it’d probably be top 3.
It's not a bad house by any means and that's coming from a person who genuinely thought the house would suck. The sets for the weeknd are't impressive from HHN standards with minimal scares that aren't "statue" style scares. The house also relies heavily on strobes which is not a good crutch for a house.
Not impressed by the line up this year. I wish they would have done more movie, houses. It’s ok to have a few original ones…but everyone comes to see their fav horror films, turned into houses. The Weeknd house was weird, & just didn’t fit.
Actually big HHN fans are EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE we don’t wanna see IP houses we want more Original houses, I wanna see what the creative team can come up with not some boring “horror” movie that’s been recreated 100000000000 times
