I agree that Halloween 2018 should have been the end. It's almost like DGG was purposely mimicking what happened with H (1978), H2, and H3. He wanted 2018 to be a standalone film (or at least a direct sequel to 1978) and then was forced into doing Kills and Ends. He even reflects it in the credits.

Great video! I strongly agree with your thoughts on the movies, especially at the top and bottom of your list. There are really just two movies (Halloween Ends and Halloween 2007) where I really disagree. It's funny, but I only just realized while watching your video that my recently updated rankings basically fall in the order of my preferred timeline viewings: 1. Halloween 1978 -- I'm fine just watching the first movie on its own. It has great atmosphere and tension. 2. Halloween 2018 -- The two paired together make for great mirrored bookends, with so many of the story beats reversing the roles of Michael and Laurie. 3. Halloween Ends & 4. Halloween Kills -- If there's time, I like to watch the full new trilogy to see the myth of Michael fully built and then deconstructed. 5. Halloween H20 -- I can also be in the mood to watch the original and H20 as a set up and conclusion. 6. Halloween II 1981 -- I sometimes like to watch the original and the sequel to enjoy that late-70s vibe, but don't like the sequel's Friday the 13th style tropes. 7. Halloween 4 & 8. Halloween III -- I rarely continue further and, while I can understand why other people appreciate these movies, they're not for me. 9. Halloween 5 & 10. Halloween 6 -- I don't see the need to revisit these movies, but, if you like them, have fun! 11. Halloween Resurrection, 12. Halloween 2007, 13. Halloween II 2009 -- I actively despise these movies.

If Halloween ends was not the ending of a trilogy I genuinely would’ve liked if. I thought the Corey stuff was quite interesting, but making the entirety of a movie that was supposed to be a finale to micheal and Laurie’s story about Corey was absurd

If you’re ranking based on actual quality of a movie there’s not a single reason why Halloween 3 would be last If it’s ranked base on like how it fits last makes sense but I think that’s a weird way to rank a franchise with so many time lines and stop and starts like this. I just don’t get your reasoning

Halloween was meant to be a anthology, but people got so pissy when they tried doing that with 3 that they were basically forced into making the fourth one about Michael again when they didn’t really seem to have any good ideas for the character at the time. Speaking as a very casual Halloween fan, if they nail the mask and the kills(i.e. the slasher elements of this slasjer franchise), I'm fine watching shitty storytelling and cringe dialogue. But if you give the H4 or H5 or H20 mas, sorry, but no. It's still baffling to me how it took a couple of hours to create that iconic Michael Myers look and 40 years to get it back to the same level

A very nice vid! Here is my Halloween Ranking(contain some spoilers!!!): By the way, this list is based purely on how much I enjoy the films on not on their quality. Starting off with ones that I flat out never plan to rewatch until the next film will come out: 13. Halloween: Resurrection. Always hated this movie and hated how it undermines H20. The kills are really generic. 12. Halloween Ends. Really?! This is how they decided to end it? I really didn’t liked it and thought it was too cheesy. Also, the inconsistency of how strong Michael was in this trilogy was mind boggling! I’m mixed on Corey but the actor was good. 11. Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers. Never liked the movie and it’s overall plot. Tina is awful. Many things here didn’t paid off to me by the end of the trilogy. 10. Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers. I really didn’t liked any of the versions. Just boring to me. There are some nice moments and it’s kinda nice to see a young Paul Rudd. 9. Halloween Kills. I loved the first 35 minutes and hated the rest! The kills were great and it make Halloween(2018) better for me. However, it led to Halloween Ends, Which I hated. It was Corny as hell and the victims are the stupidest they’ve ever been. Now for 3 movies I kinda like but don’t tend visit as often. 8. Halloween(2018). This movie was ok to me. Didn’t liked the whole Sartain part. Great cinematography but I didn’t liked any of the new characters other than Hawkins. And of course it’s a little bit lower because I really didn’t liked the rest of the trilogy. 7. Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2. I loved the first 25 minutes of the movie, right up until Laurie wakes up. After that it was ok but I didn’t care for Michael talking or Laurie in general but I actually liked Loomis and Annie and absolutely loved Brad Dourif as Sheriff Brackett. Loved the brutality of kills. However I did hated Sheri Moon and the Horses!! 6. Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers. I really like this film and think that it is very solid. Dr Loomis is so great in this one and Jamie and Rachel are amazing as well. Only two things that prevents me to rewatch it as often as some of the others are the crappy sequels and horrific mask. Now for Three movies I really like and can watch way more: 5. Rob Zombie’s Halloween(2007). I really love the third act and I even like how crazy and white trashy the first two acts are. I actually like the breakfast scene… I’ll take it over a generic remake any day of the week. I even like the trashy characters like Ronnie and Noel… really liked Loomis and Laurie in this one and Sheri Moon Zombie actually acted good in this. Michael is so scary, as a kid and specially as an adult. 4. Halloween H20. I know it’s way higher than most people will put it on their lists, but I really like the movie, specially the showdown between Lori and Michael! I think this is my favourite version of Laurie and I really liked the supporting cast. However, the mask is awful. 3. Halloween(original) I think it’s a great film but I don’t love it as some of you do. only really like it. really liked Loomis and Laurie and loved Michael in this one. To me it’s a very great Classic slasher, just not my favourite. However the directing style and soundtrack are Divine in this one. Now for the two movies I actually consider in top 50 favourite horror movies of all times(number 1 is even in my top 25!!): 2. Halloween 2. Halloween 2. This is my favourite straight forward(not including the supernaturals) slasher! Love this movie and how well it compliments the original(I usually watch the in a double feature). The kills are great and I actually love the whole brother-sister angle. The hospital atmosphere is awesome. 1. Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch. I always loved this film, even before it became popular to even admit to like it. Conal Cochran is such a great villain and Dr. Dan Challis is very fun to watch. The kills are great and the villain’s evil plan is really really evil! The effects are great and the Halloween feel is stronger than ever!
