Greetings Wizards! Your boy is back and with one of his longest vids to date! 🧙‍♂ *FAQs* Q: Can't you scale the mountainside to reach Volsung without having to enter Volskygge? 🧙‍♂ Indeed you can! I forgot to mention this and is a much easier and faster way of obtaining the Volsung mask. Q: Doesn’t the Greater Power, “Highborn”, allow Altmers to increase their rate of magicka regeneration by 25x for 60 seconds once per day, not 25%? 🧙‍♂️ Quite right! Apologies for the error - have been playing a Nord for far too long 😅 Q: Can't the Dragon Priest Masks be worn with a Falmer Helmet for increased armor and additional enchantments? 🧙‍♂ Indeed they can! Dragon Priest Masks with a low base armor rating like Morokei will benefit the most, but all masks will benefit from additional enchantments. You could have a total of 5 enchantments on your head alone! The Falmer helmet can also be equipped and worn at the same time as any circlet, Penitus Oculatus helmet, and the Masque of Clavicus Vile. Q: Isn’t Volsung tempered with a Corundum Ingot? 🧙‍♂️ Oops! Yes, that’s quite right! It’s not tempered by Ebony Ingots but by Corundum Ingots. Q: What mod list are you using? 🧙‍♂️ That would be Septimus - Anniversary Edition Extended from Wabbajack.

Like the Gauldur amulet, none of the priest masks are as powerful or impressive as the should be given the lore and how they are described.

I think the masks could’ve been treated like Azhidal’s rings, where you get a unique spell for wearing them.

Here's a tip that Makes Volsung even better: Go to Volsyygg, Go to the left of the dungeon entrance (outside), go up the side of the hill. You can walk right up the side of the hill directly to the Word Wall and Dragon Priest, skipping the entire dungeon. And I've noticed that if you start hitting him with a melee weapon as soon as he exits his coffin and then keep wailing on him, he just _doesn't_ attack you.

i believe the wooden mask takes you to a pocket dimension ancient dragon priests wouldn't of needed a time traveling mask; but a pocket dimension to hide a mask they wanted forgotten does make sense.

Thanks to the AE there is a ring called "Denstagmer's ring". That ring add a +20% resistance to frost, shock or fire damage. Combining with the mask of Otar you'll get a 50% resistance to all the 3 elements

I really wish the wooden mask did more time travel in different dragon mask locations just so we could check out the past

I will say, the masks become a lot more useful in Survival mode, since they often handle problems that are introduced by the new rules, or make them easier to deal with. Also, Morokei and Konahrik are my favorite masks.

The shock one , and the one that increases magica with destruction cast reduction are my favorite ones.

I use the spellbreaker shield coupled with the elemental protection perk to reduce elemental damage and being a nord having that frost resistance

Volsung was the first dragon priest i ever found playing Skyrim so it forever has a place in my heart... + It looks aweasome

The best usage of the masks is the multiple armor sets glitch, wearing every single mask and all those buffs stacked 🤣

So many people asking about mods and debating builds, meanwhile I'm just happy that my favourite mask was the highest ranked mask outside of Konahrik. Volsung FTW!

21:44 here is a tip from when I was adventuring, Nahkriin won't actually attack you before he gets his staff so, all you have to do is block him with your body and hit him while he tries to get his staff

I'm genuinely surprised that the DB masks don't rank higher. Not only are those resists pretty clutch on higher difficulties, they contribute to the absurd damage of the new Elemental Blast spells.

I personally prefer using garlic bread over cure disease potions they only weigh 0.1 each whereas potions weigh 0.5 (meaning you can carry 5 pieces for the same weight as 1 potion) plus they heal 1 hp lol you just need a homestead with an oven (or any place with an oven I have no clue about anything beyond the legendary edition on the ps3) a full loaf of bread garlic and butter and it gives 2 each time

I remember seeing your vids fly through my recs for a bit now but since I've been playing Skyrim myself again recently I decided to finally click in and I gotta say - very worth it! Good voice, good editing, good script for this one in general and the fact that you've been including captions for a long time is very appreciated! Definitely gonna be checking in more.

A thought on Hevnoraak. I've not gotten it yet to test it on my current playthrough, but potentially, immunity (85% resistance) to disease DAMAGE might actually make it a much more interesting pick if playing with mods. Assuming it actually resists it, which it may not. Disease damage in general is a very, very difficult resistance to get normally, as well as tons of stuff just not getting it, since it's, to my knowledge, just not available in base Skyrim. It's still probably not a fantastic mask in that context, but might be a great thing to just carry, in case. On a side note, one of my most fun times in Skyrim has been just becoming a mask collector. Lots of mods add masks, and just accumulating them, putting them on display, ect is surprisingly enjoyable experience. Lots are just recolors of the wooden mask, sadly, but there's impressive variety out there, too.

Combining the Kohnarik mask with a pair of those temple priest robes from the priests in Raven Rock, Solstheim, makes for solid dragon priest look. Since the robes already come with a 75% boost in magicka regeneration enchantment, they cannot be enchanted any further... however, you can still enchant a pair of gloves, shoes, a necklace and a ring for total of 8 extra enchantments.

Rank all possible stewards. Then perhaps one day all followers and or marriage candidates. The pool of choices for stewards is probably perfect for video length and I’ve yet to see someone else do a banger video on that but I know The Wizard can!

One question, and out of curiosity. What mod did you use for the dragon priest mask being on your charcter's hip 27:54 into the video? It looks awesome!

I am on my very first Skyrim playthrough. I was wandering around at level 18 and came across the Shearpoint Word Wall. I got all excited to learn a new shout and once I saw an enemy rise up near me I thought no big deal he's probably leveled with me so I can take him.... After about 25 minutes of running for my life and restoring hp behind rocks I had finally chipped away at his health by running up and getting a few sword swings at him that I could finally finish him off. It was only afterwards looking his info up that I realized he was level 50 and I was 18. I felt pretty accomplished to say the least!

If you're running mage build the mask that's found with the staff of magnus is pretty solid.

I remember there was a conjuring book you could get via the console thing that gave you a spell to summon dragon priests. Those dragon priests, in turn, summoned two of those giant lightning elementals. It was glorious. 😁

I like electricity resistance during the College questline, as you get a lot more lightning users in that progression. Useful if only for those quests

That poison & disease resistance one actually is my default headgear when travelling. Because it's always annoying when meanwhile you've reached maximum armor cap, but easily got disease by one bite of a bear, wolf, or damn skeaver ambushing. Same with vampire. Their spell always get me disease like every time. When entering a battle, especially against dragon or wizards, Otar is my top equipment. But it's just me who like playing the orthodox two handed tank warrior. Like that old guard said, "Best offence is a good defence, am I right?!" Btw, I like how you deliver enough information, straight to the point, but not forget to give a bit trivial joke. Good content. Safe travel, land strider. May your road lead you to cloud district very often.

I love vokun. The combination of bound bow plus invisibility and silent casting perk plus slowtime shout buffed by stability is a build many already did. This mask helps alot in that. It also helps you being a necromancer that can buff the zombies/summons with courage thanks to the perk that alows you to use ilusion perks on undead, and paralyze is always useful. The mask is just so useful The elemental mask are also very good, althought very niche. Best to worst are, for me, fire, shock and frost. Fire for the spell on ahzidal ring and shock form boosting the Kamehameha

Tip for Dukaan: Pair it with Stahlrim weapons. Stahlrim items natively increase all Ice-based enchantments on them.

I expected the poison resist helmet to be closer to the top slot due to how difficult it is to get poison resistance outside racials and poison resistance potions, and how hard poisons scale at the higher levels. immunity to magic and melee are self explanatory, but dealing with poisons is rough up until you get Hevvy.

Water breathing is also an excellent skill for escaping guards if you happen to get caught being naughty... so i hear. Obviously I wouldn't have any firsthand experience with such things, or outstanding bounties. I'm obviously just a law abiding citizen that enjoys long underwater swims upriver.

"can be upgraded with the daedric smithing perk" started to get meme able near the end, i would suggest say all can be upgraded with the perk with exceptions (then name them as they come up). still a great video :D

If you use Dukaan with a Stalhrim weapon that has a Chaos enchant and a frost enchant Both Dukaan and Stalhrim will boost both of those enchantments by 25% for a total 50% damage boost

I like coupling morokei with the arch mage's robes. My go-to spell for dense areas is to use unbounded storms

It says morokei gives 100% more regen but it’s still slow af during combat to the point it’s basically useless. That’s why I go for Nahkriin.

I have hard time choosing for my numbear one spot between Ahzidal, Nahkriin, and Konahrik Dragon Priest Masks. Ahzidal mask will even grand you small bonus to the enchanting if you wear his set special of armor (I am not using any game breaking glitches to create broken items). Nahkriin mask is really good for spellsword build, or mages wearing heavy armor. Konahrik mask works really well for warrior builds, and bonus points for the design.

And if you like Dragon Priest Masks? There's mod for Dragon Priest Armory, with each Priest coming with their custom armor too! Heck, if you want you can just go find a Clay Mask and enter another time, and craft your own armor too. Including a Hearthstone Armor, that has Enchantment Boost, and real epic black and red shade... Konahrik's Accountrements.

i love skyrim. I've been playing it for over forty hours, for the first time ever, and i have the krosis mask without even realizing how cool it is or what a dragon priest is. there's so much I haven't yet seen !!

My Favorites are Nahkriin (great for heavy armored Mage builds), Hevnoraak (great for non-vampires and non-werewolves), and any of the three Elemental ones (for those elementally themed character).

Volsung's always been my fave, even if I'm almost always doing stealth archer-thief.

Otar’s my favorite mask for a hyper tank build, heavy armor masks count towards the heavy armor material set bonus of daedric armors, and with enchantments on my daedric armor and the fact that helmets cant be enchanted with resistances means I get the most resist-related enchants on all armor pieces and jewelry for a 80%+ resist on all 3 elements + a 20% magic resist ring. I could go further but I kept some enchants for two handed and heavy armor bonuses

So, hey, what is that mod or combo of mods you are using to make combat flow so much smoother?

I find the Dragonborn DLC masks far better than the other base game masks given it has the only bonus destruction damage enchantment while the rest can be replaced with other armor or enchantments like the increase magicka and regen ones are useless once you wear multiple armor pieces that each have 25%~ lower magic cost in x school of magic. Elemental resists are also an enchantment you can get and have a higher % in by just doing the enchanting yourself

Fixed Morokei with the 20% shout cooldown reduction is my go-to mask.

As the mask of The First Dragonborn, Miraak had many possibilities. Like perhaps... an extra daily use of "Mul Qah Diiv!" A simple magicka increase is incredibly lame.

I think that Krosis should rank on top (from a glass mage main) cuz konahrik is just to situational and you have to work rly hard to get it, and on Volsung, in all my playthroughs in skyrim i have never drowned or even got close to it, the carry enchantment aint rly much if you can sort your inventory and the price enchantmen isnt that big since you end up hoarding gold i all playthroughs. While Krosis gives bonus to archery (still most popular build) alchemy which is just good if you dont wanna spend so much on potions, and lockpicking which is just the cherry on top.

This is why I prefer mods that buff the Dragon Priest masks so that they feel like unique, powerful items and not just "well i can get a better one by making it"

I got morokei. My Dragonborn is a Nord Battlemage that Dual Weilds a dagger and a mace. He wears light armor and is very quick on his feet. He gets a very good damage output and ennemies can't catch him. He changes his dagger to spells often. Armor isn't his priority but he doesn't like to run out of magica mid fight.

@TheWelshWizard I've made an attempt at improving on the masks existing effects and giving them unique new ones to make them match more to their power in the lore, as I feel like some of them were abit of a let down and by that I mean they were either to situational or the bonus was to weak, or you yourself could make a better enchanted item. To begin with MIRACK, the biggest letdown. Instead of its usual ability it has a one per day power to A give you an additional magic bar (that cannot be refilled my potions) and increased the strength of all your Spells. The size of the magic bar and the increased strength starts of as a mid buff but increases in strength depending on the number and strength of dragon's you kill while wearing it, OR you can use spare drsgon souls u have on you to increase this. The buff has no set duration but expires when your new magic bars are empty. Also after the ability is used or if you were to next use it, the strength of the ability re-sets. (This ability is to fit in to the dragon born theme and gives use to the spare dragon souks u woukd have late game.) Next is my personal favourite, OTAR. Although it's already good, my suggestion would be to remove it's default effect and instead give it a permanently activate passive skill where it has a 30% chance to fully obsorbe a fire, frost or shock Spell and then redirect that attack to your nearest enemy. Next for Hevnorak. It has the once per day ability to, when below 50% health, place sould trap on all nearby enemies and then use an AoE life steal, with the amount of health stolen increasing depending on how low you HP is. This Mask also will upgrade empty grand soul gems to empty black soul gems. This and Ragots abilities fit in with their lore and quests of them sacrificing others in order to become immortal, or in Hevnorak's case, stealing his subjects minds and souls. Now Speaking of RAGOT, in addition to it's usual enchantment, they also have a once per day AoE stamina steal, which then will also temporarily increase your swing and movement speed based on the number of enemies affected. Now I've forgotten the name of this mask, rated number 2, meaning Horror. (First of all I'd like to disagree with your placing of this mask as although it is versatile, chances are u already have individual gear or potions that are better). So, the mask still keeps the increased speach but also has the passive ability where when an enemies HP drops below a certain fresh hold (50 and 25%), to become parylized for 5 seconds OR a 15% chance to become frenzied and turn hostile to other enemies (will default to paralysis if no other enemies). Now for MOROKI, in addition to the 100% magica regen, it allows ward Spells to obsorbe physical hits (not sure if they do that already and if it does, than it increases the amount of damage negated instead and decreeses their cost), and using a ward at the very last moment a charged Spell would hit u staggers nearby enemies and will refill part of you mana bar. Furthermore, it also increases the power of staffs in your hand and reduces soul gem depletion rate. (Again, this fits with his quest, with him being trapped in an impenetrable ward). Now VOKUN has a few abilities that replace it's normal one. It increases the duration of your conduration and alteration Spells and gives you the ability (every 7 seconds, to pay stamina and magica)to either teleport a small distance in a particular direction (using the purple conjuration Summoning animation). OR B, you switch places with your achranoch summon and any enemies near where your switch places to become staggered (I don't know which of the two would fit better). Now for NAKRIN. It now only has it's destruction cost reduction but instead gives a passive effect that boosts the strength of your destruction Spells that works similar to Mirak's. The strength of the buff starts of weak but has a way to be increased over time, also it has no set duration that the buff expires. It empowers your destruction Spells a little bit after each time you cast them, but the strength of the buff deminishes when you use a HP or MP potions OR resets entirely when you would switch to using a Spell from another school of magic, or use a weapon, excluding staffs. Now I wasn't sure what to do for KROSIS as my suggest buff may seem abit bland in comparison to the rest as it's already good, BUT it has its usually effect, but the strength of its enchantment is increased to 30%, also potions and poisons are now waitless and the weight of stolen goods are halved. It also increases your movement speed while sneaking. And now for the big boy KONARICK 1st of all it REMOVES THE ABILITY FOR YOUR CHARACTER TO RECEIVE AN INSTANT DEATH ANIMATION, or to be killed by a single hit because those are bullshit in my op and u have more of a chance of receiving one than this masks effect procking at low HP. 2ndly, the chances of each of its default effects procking has been increases to a 30% chance for the heath when health drops bellow 50 and 25%, AND has a 15% to Summon a dragon priest. And 3rdly, instead of it granting the fire cloak, which in my op is to weak of a Spell, it instead unlocks you the ability for 10 seconds to cast a master level Spell ignoring its magic cost. This ability then has a cooldown and will default to the heal incase it would prock again. Boy, that's alot of text, I don't think I've missed one. Now if someone for some reason decide to read this far than thnk you. Also, I'd love to read any feedback of my suggested changes, if possible, as I like talking about shit like this from games 😅

I was angry about the whole Dragon Priest shrine, because I worked my butt off painstakingly locating and clearing the dungeons and nearly dying several times to get ahold of all eight masks (on Skyrim) then I had to walk all the way back to Labyrinthian, and once I placed all the dragon priest masks on their respective busts, Bethesda has the audacity to not even give me an achievement for it!
